Oh. I feel bad that I left him alone with all of this. I wish I could have been by his side when he woke up.
[It's spoken with such sincerity. He looks up at Zelda, his mouth pulled in something akin to a pout.]
Hm?
[His brows furrow together and he sighs dramatically.]
It's been known to work before. At least where I come from. I just wanted to help. And I figured it wouldn't be the worst thing since we come back here, right?

...or she can forgive him and let him get away with everything.
Surprisingly, she has to think about it. She doesn't want to let him have this one, she wants to tear him down. But she doesn't want to hurt Shizuo, who loves Izaya whether he fully realizes it or not. She doesn't want to hurt Sola, who defended Izaya so vehemently. Zelda herself might not drag others into whatever she might start here, but Izaya would. There's also the fact that he did jump - there was no way he could have saved himself at that point, it was real. The conflict is played out on her face visibly before she finally speaks again.]
...alright, Izaya. I'm going to believe in you. But make no mistake, I don't want to see you leading Sola down a path that will hurt himself again. He's not -
[Her voice cracks slightly.]
He's only a year old. He doesn't know any better. Leave him be, please.

To say the least anyway.
Besides, Izaya knows that Zelda knows perfectly well what could happen if she defies him now. So, Izaya stands tall and straight, a calm smile on his face as he observes the princess' thought.
He knows that he has won. It's the delay in her response.]
You're going to believe in me? Really?
[He almost looks flattered, Zelda.]
I feel like my whole life is turning into a better place. I'm so happy that we can put this all behind us.
[His smile fades in favor of a mildly offended expression.]
I would never lead him down a path to intentionally hurt Sola. I know how old he is Zelda. I know how unaware of the world he is. That's why I've taken him under my wing. To ensure he knows the truth.
[He holds his finger out to Zelda and flicks it up.]
You might not understand because I don't think you're as aware as you think you are. I have a lot to show Sola that you never will be able to. I care for Sola. He's my friend, Zelda.
A real friend.
I'd never take that for granted.
[And yet another calm smile and he looks up at the bubble.
He's quiet for a long time.]
You look a lot more attractive as a male, by the way.

[Zelda knows that she's sheltering Sola, but she doesn't care. He's young enough that he needs it, anyway. A small grin plays across her lips as he mentions Sheik.]
I figured that you would think so. I'm afraid that I prefer being female, though.
[He saw her turn into Sheik, there's no point in hiding it. Zelda laughs then joins Izaya in looking up at the bubble. It's frustrating - really frustrating. If this was a battle between just the two of them, she could have a lot of fun with it (as twisted as that sounds). But it's not. Zelda has too many people she's close to that Izaya could exploit, too many weaknesses. Too many emotions.]
Emotions really weaken a person, don't they?

[Granted, he only has a soft spot for one blond man in particular but he's not going to get into that right now.
Oh Zelda. Never think that you could actually have fun with Izaya. Not when he's happy. That's just very dangerous territory.
Izaya's back to his usual self and that's not good news for anyone.]
Absolutely they do.
[Izaya's smirk is lazy because he knows that Zelda is aware of something amiss. He likes that.]
So do social connections. People are pretty vulnerable creatures overall. They make themselves be. The more you gain, the more you have to lose, so they say.
no subject
It's true. I didn't really have anything to lose when I first came to Vatheon. But now... there's a lot to lose, isn't there? For both of us.
[Zelda finally seems to be back to herself as she leans towards Izaya slightly. Though the words could be interpreted as a threat, she really does only mean them at face value.]
You seem happy today. I hope both of you are happy, I really do.
no subject
[He won't say anything on that but he looks away from Zelda and off into the city.
Even if they did sound like a threat, Izaya knows enough that Zelda wouldn't intentionally hurt Shizuo. She isn't that kind of person and that's his prediction.]
I think he's happy. I think he's finally happy with me anyway.
[His smile fades but he sounds....sincere. Happy. Hopeful.]
And how could I not be happy?
[This was seven years in the making. He doesn't say more on the topic though but instead beams another effortless smile at Zelda.
He has virtually no guilt over Sola. Not in the slightest.]
Well Zelda, if that was all...

[She gives him another long, careful look before raising her hand in a wave. Izaya smiles too easily after all of this. She can forgive him, but she won't forget this - not by a long shot.
But even still, after all that's happened...
Zelda presses a kiss to her fingertips, then taps Izaya on the forehead where he kissed her before.]
And Izaya... I still don't believe that you're a monster.

[His tone is quiet and mostly blank, his eyes opened wide and his mouth in a straight line.
But then they twitch back up into...something that might of resembled a smile?
It's impossible to tell.]
You're one of those prophet types, aren't you? Like Minato and Jacob.
no subject
[She actually looks startled. How the hell did Izaya know that she had visions?]
...yes, I am. I don't have visions here, but I do at home. There is a prophet "type"? Fascinating.
no subject
[Ha. No he totally didn't but you walked right into that one, didn't you?
He knows now.]
Yeah, you know. They're kinda quiet and observant. [Not like him, obviously.] They have this thing where they think that everyone has something good inside of them. They're kinda like Jesus figures except for more annoying.
All three of you are kind of the same in certain respects. You all seem to have similar views on me, especially.
no subject
[To be fair, her only experience with Jesus is talking to Ky, and he is REALLY annoying.]
Everyone has the capacity for good and evil inside them. That's just how it is. The fact that you seem to have a different moral compass than I do doesn't make you monstrous at all.
