Back to the Bubble
Who: Demyx and Faris
When: Early Evening
Where: Fountain before Phanga
Style: Whatever
Status: Closed
They were finally free of the ships' graveyard. No more traversing through water and fighting ghosts. He was grateful that the others didn't press about Syldra or his secret. Lenna hadn't minded either, and that's what was important.
Lenna.
Lenna! Faris woke up with a start. Soak still, but he realized it was thanks to another reason than he had initially thought.
He was back in the bubble. The blazing bubble! The last thing he remembered just before was Lenna falling in a trance. It was a trap! Bartz had guessed right. It was too late.
Right now, Lenna could be dead as well. Faris felt cold, sick and tired.
Both Syldra and Lenna could be gone. For good. And he was trapped at Vatheon.
The Captain gathered his composure, remembering the promise he still had to keep. Who knows how long it was since he had left. That idiot had better not being waiting as he said he would. After verifying that Demyx wasn't where Faris has last seen him, he headed for the Phanga Neighborhood.
Knocking was overated. Faris just helped himself in, knowing Demyx usually left it unlock. Later on, when he felt like it, he might make up for walking through Demyx's place while still dripping wet. Demyx liked it wet, didn't he?
Faris didn't stop moving until he came to the blond's room. He opened the door, not caring what Demyx could have been up to.
"So much for waiting, huh, mate?" Even if there was a grin, his tone of voice probably let to just host tired he was.

Faris didn't stop moving until he came to the blond's room. He opened the door, not caring what Demyx could have been up to.
"So much for waiting, huh, mate?" Even if there was a grin, his tone of voice probably let to just host tired he was.

It wasn't until he picked up on the front door opening and footsteps that Demyx tugged the blankets on his bed up over his head. And then his door opened and he curled in on himself. Maybe if he acted like he was sleeping--no.
That voice.
Faris.
"...Got tired." Man, he even sounded tired. Not physically, but emotionally.

Anyone with less than half a brain could tell something was very wrong with his mate. He watched the Demyx!lump carefully.
"Didn't wait long, did ya? Looks like there have been bigger things on ya plate, mate."
no subject
Part of him thought he might have been dreaming, but why would he dream about being bummed out like this? It didn't make any sense--people disappeared and returned a couple days later, so why did he think Faris was gone for good?
"Faris, I..."
no subject
And Faris should have caught on something else was wrong.
He reached over for Lumpyx, and decided to try the only thing that could work. Faris tugged off the blanket. He crawled over to Demyx.
"Normally you're the one doing this." An arm was now draped across Demyx as the pirate laid beside him.

He hasn't cried this hard since he and Xigbar received their hearts for the week during one of the past curses. Maybe emotions had nothing to do with the heart. Maybe...
Yeah.
It had to be.
"F-Faris, I-I thought you weren't--weren't gonna--!"
no subject
"I jus' like proving ya wrong."
Faris grinned against the Nobody. Even if he left at a craptastic time, this was making him feel some what better. "I did promise to come back."
no subject
Actually, he didn't want anyone else to see him like this. Not even Lea--not right now.
no subject
"Not going any where, mate." He couldn't promise to never leave, but he'll do his best to stick around as long as he could. "Despite being so skinny, you're rather comfy. Not gonna get sick, are ya?"
no subject
"W-What happened when you went back home? Anything?" He probably looked pretty miserable, but Demyx was doing his best to ignore how stuffy he felt now after letting everything out. "'n I'm not gonna get sick. I-It's just water."
no subject
"Had to navigate through the graveyard of the sea. A collection of ruined ships and their occupants now part of the undead." And just before that, he lost Syldra. It was still too soon to talk about that. Demyx didn't need to worry about it either. "They found out I'm not really a lad." He studied Demyx's face.
"Not looking so pretty there, mate. Not gonna snore later, are ya?"
no subject
He was trying to pull himself together by focusing on Faris, on that strange but comfortable weight on his body.
"I don't snore," Demyx mutters, rubbing his face into his pillow to dry his eyes--of course it doesn't last, because they start to water with a fresh batch of tears that just threaten to spill. "T-They didn't do nothin' to you, did they?"
no subject
Faris flashed an easy smile. "Ya sure? None probably had it to tell ya."
He shook his head at the last question. "Nah. See? One piece. They were blockheads, the lot of them. Wouldn't take no for an answer. I'm used to being wet, but they had to make some deal of it. Gave em quite the shock. Think the old coot was relieved."
no subject
And then he lightly shoves Faris, but not enough to knock him away, "Xiggy would'a told me. I jus' drool a little sometimes."
Then when his last question was answered, Demyx turns his body so he can ditch the pillow and bury his face into the pirate's shoulder with a shaky breath. He still wanted to cry. Wanted to scream and curse and throw a tantrum, but he was older than that, right? Granted if he were to get technical, he wasn't even ten years old as far as Nobodies go. "...Stupid."
no subject
"You're lucky I like ya." A nudge was given to Demyx in return. "And I'm still wet. Drool won't make much difference."
It took a moment for Faris to decide what to do. His hands were back on the blond's hair, petting it soothingly. Better be soaking up this attention, Demyx. This was a rare feat. "Says you. So else is eating ya?"
no subject
"...I think I lost three friends in one day when you left. I-I mean, you came back 'n all that, but one got killed an' the other, well..."
He's not acting like my friend anymore, goes unsaid.
"I used t'be able to trust him with anything but I dunno if he's joking or--or if he's serious."
no subject
"If he's joking or serious about..?" Purple brows were lowered as he thought over what Demyx's message.
no subject
"...I let it slip to someone that I was gonna propose to Lea." Oddly enough, he didn't feel as if he had to hide it from Faris. He could trust the guy, right? Faris was 'family'. "'n, well... He--I-I think he might tell Lea. I wanted to do it on Valentine's Day but then everything happened 'n I haven't been in a good mood since then 'n now I gotta change those plans a-and I--I just wanna try 'n make Lea happy."
I fail
He was churning over his head about what sort of mate would spoil something for another. "Do I need to go shove a boot up someone's rear? Is Lea the sort to let ya know your big surprise is ruined? If it does, maybe he'll wait until the big reveal to give an answer? Either way ya won't know until it gets here. And if he tells ya no, it's not the end of the relationship. Jus' means ya have to wait longer." Maybe. If that's how this stuff works.
"I'm hardly the expert of these matters, but if he likes ya, and you like him, then make the most of what ya have. Be happy and enjoy it while you're still here."
