Who: Prussia and anyone else! finally crawling out of my shy shell
When: February 15th late evening
Where: The street around Canada's home
Style: Prose or action
Status: Open!

Gilbert had thoroughly explored the area around his current headquarters but was leery in going beyond Canada's street. He had observed the other inhabitants of Vatheon and concluded that most of them were complete freaks. Some of them didn't look human - which didn't really disturb Gilbert that much, in fact, he found it pretty cool - but it solidified his suspicions that Vatheon existed somewhere completely separate from Gilbert and Canada's world, hell, separate from their entire dimension! It would make going home more than difficult, but Gilbert wasn't to be deterred! No prison could hold his awesomeness!

But...there was no need to be hasty just yet. Vatheon wasn't a dreary prison with high grey walls and barbed wire. They were treated very well, even if the locals disturbed Gilbert on a subconscious level. Just made his skin crawl, so he avoided them as much as possible. Really, the only person that Gilbert interacted with regularly was Canada, who he was rooming with. Gilbert was getting antsy, since he was a social person despite his Alone Complex. He thrived off of attention, and to willingly isolate himself from people - no matter how freaky they may be - was slowly killing him from the inside out. That and Gilbert was curious and some of these freaky people looked so awesome!

So Gilbert lingered on the street outside of Canada's house, pacing up and down and looking at the other houses, considering his plan of action. Should he go to the park? Or maybe go to the shops and meet people there. People socialised in stores, right? Yeah, and in parks. Gilbert couldn't exactly just ambush people on the street and demand that they'd talk to him? Well, he could, but maybe people would be intimidated by him flaunting his awesomeness so abruptly in their faces and would run away. Lots of people ran away when he jumped out at them.

...although that was probably more due to him surprising them by leaping out of bushes...

Gilbert frowned and sat down on the curb with a huff. He rested his elbows on his knees and peered down the street. It was late anyway, so people would probably be in bed by now, and the shops would be closed, and who knew what the park was like during the night. You weren't allowed in parks at night in some places, anyway. But Gilbert didn't want to go back inside just yet. He picked up a loose stone from the floor and scratched it on the pavement, leaving chalk lines. Distracted from his dilemma, Gilbert quickly became absorbed in sketching on the pavement with the stone, even if the light from the lampposts was too orange for his liking. Made it hard to see in some parts. Oh well.

It wasn't like anyone was going to see his crappy drawings anyway.

Eddie just gave a soft smirk. "That's the thing about being a critic. You don't have to wait for permission." He shifted the grocery bag a bit and raised an eyebrow. Wow, someone was testy. Not that much of a surprise but still it was interesting to see the shift of emotions over the other guys face. Really amusing actually.

"Calm down kid, it was a joke. And besides, I couldn't draw my way outta wet paper bag." Tried it once...needless to say it was an extra day of chasing down that toon robber.

"Not on purpose. I was just passin' by." He wasn't social by any means but it was still weird to see a guy drawing on the sidewalk in the middle of the night. He's draw to strange things.

"Saw you scrubbing on the floor and figured I should make sure you aren't doing something stupid."

The grin made Eddie raise an eyebrow but he just shook his head. There were a lot of idiots in this town and after what he'd seen lately...he was going to keep on an eye on the few that had been helpful. He didn't want to call anyone a friend yet. He didn't have friends anymore...not rabbits or dames or blondes with too much time on their hands.

"Don't flatter yourself kid, I think anything anyone does is bordering on stupid. Now why are you out here on your own?"

"For some reason the idea of you bored makes me worry more then you just wondering around like an idiot."

Gilbert was really starting to remind Eddie of a big kid. The little movements and glances around. Plus the whole avoidance of silence (awkward or companionable) put a few more marks in.

"The only thing hostile about this place is refusing a doughtnut from one of the cafe ladies. I thikn you're workin'too hard for nothing."

"It's a cop thing."

He waves the worry, even if he agrees completely. Eddie is supposed to be the grumpy sourpuss only. Nothing else. He does, however, give Gilbert a slightly impressed look.

"well, well. What a surprise. You really aren't an idiot after all."

"There's a casino in town. There's always something to do." He'd been in there a bit, in different ways. Mostly in the back though since he had to get an idea of just who ran the town besides the jerks that dragged them here.

"And it's Valiant." Automatic correction; he has that odd hope that one day Gilbert will use the right name.

Not really though.

"Down town, where else." Yeah, Eddie has never lost a dime in the casino. He's never played. Too many risks and not enough ways to make sure he can make them calculated risks.

If Gilbert starts loosing too much, Eddie'll knock him out with a frying pan and drag him back to Matt.

"Didn't take you for a card guy, blondie."

"It does kill time, yeah." Of course, Eddie only knows the rules. He hesitates just the slightest before goin on, "The casino uses whatever language this place has. I ain't too good at it but I can ask for a scotch." The man looked at least eighteen so maybe a drink would tide them both over until that next day. Sure he said he was cutting down but after this last week.

"Wanna join me for one?"

"Well it's one I sure don't know." He didn't particularly care so long as they got his drink order right and could point out any weirdos. If those weirdos needed pointing out anyways. Most of the 'guests' stuck out pretty well. They weren't as creepy as the locals.

"Beer? Yeah alright, I think I can cover that." Because free drinks? He is not thinking it is a bad thing. "You gonna grab your nanny or what?"

That had a smile tugging at the corner of Eddie's mouth before he actually focused on what Gilbert had said, "Canada?" So far any mention of countries had been well incidental.

"Funny thing to call a guy." Eh, whatever. He fixed his coat and started back towards town. Following?

He stops and turns to face Gilbert, "Who you callin' old?" He was perfectly fit thank you. Also the alcohol intake? No problem, except for the alcoholic sort of problem but he had a solution for that anyways.

"Shows what you know, kid. Bet the only light weight around is you."

"You're just a skinny kid. Like hell you could drink enough to call yourself a booze fish."
