Hunger pangs
Who: Vegeta and anyone that wants to approach a pissed-off Saiyan
When: February 15th, early morning
Where: The park
Style: I'll follow
Status: Open~
The curse had been a living hell for Vegeta. Not because of what he turned into, oh no - in fact, as far as he could tell, he hadn't turned into anything different at all. It was the complete lack of easily accessible food that did the Saiyan in. Gone were Vatheon's restaurants with their helpful natives willing to stuff him to his heart's content, and without his scouter he had been wary of attacking any of the monsters roaming the city. He had only eaten once during the curse, and as glorious as the golden sandwich held in the giant's castle had been, he'd quickly burned off most of that energy by flitting about to get away. The ball had done him no good either, the food on the table he approached had mysteriously disappeared.
Naturally, Vegeta had become fed up with the whole situation and just went to the park to hibernate until it was over. He woke up a couple days later, groggy, hungrier than ever, and pissed.

"No, I've never seen a Saiyan. I'm not even sure I've ever heard of one. I don't think there are any here in Vatheon. I haven't met any others." The term itself didn't sound entirely unfamiliar, but Shizuo didn't really care about pop culture, so he'd never be able to pinpoint any familiarity with it.
"I'm from Earth. Japan."

He leaned over to sniff Shizuo. Unfortunately, the scent of tobacco left behind made it impossible for him to tell if he was anything other than human. He sat back with mild disappointment on his face.

He delivered the entire explanation with a straight face. He didn't mean to be insulting, but with words like "primitive" and "subspecies", it's hard to not be.

"I had normal parents. I have a normal brother." A stoic brother, but he didn't do things like tear up street signs and vending machines. "They aren't strong like me."

"You mean human. All races are 'normal'. If you weren't human, there would be no shame in that."
I HAVE TO GO SEE A MOVIE I'll be back in a couple of hours
"I know...this guy." What was he supposed to call Izaya, now, anyway? "He likes to tell me I'm not like a human. He calls me a monster. So. I don't know. I'm different, but I'm not another species. I'm just not normal for what's normal for humans."
See ya!
Just like Vegeta wanted to be Super Saiyan.
Back :D
He shook his head. "I don't know. I don't like to think about it." And he really didn't. There were enough reminders everywhere he looked.
Besides, Shizuo had a much more important question in mind. "If you're so strong, how do you control it?" Vegeta may not have spent his time keeping himself from hurting others if he broke Sola's arm, but he clearly had control over his strength. He hadn't obliterated Shizuo, when he clearly had the opportunity.
No joke, based on that time you got back right when I went to shower. lol~
"Not all Saiyans had this much control. Many were nothing more than mindless beasts that fought only with their bodies and neglected their minds entirely. I have seen too many fall before me to allow myself to do the same. I will be the master of my own power. I have someone I need to defeat, and it's a goal that can never be reached on strength alone."
The serious expression faded and he grinned. "Essentially, if I didn't learn to control myself, I would have died. I'm happy to provide the same favor for you."
Aha timing~
He listened carefully, once again wanting to hear every word, as they very well could have been the secret for which Shizuo longed since the day he first displayed his strength.
He was quiet for a moment after Vegeta spoke.
He wanted it, more than anything - the ability to stop his rages and control his strength. Maybe he could never be less of a monster, but a controlled monster was better than one that destroyed property, people, and belongings. But he also thought of Zelda and Sola, both of whom probably would not appreciate Shizuo establishing this kind of truce with Vegeta.
But if he could be like that - the master of his power - then he'd be happy. He yearned for it.
Finally, Shizuo nodded, just once, and said, "I want to control it. More than anything else. If you can really help me..." He trailed off, leaving that in the air. It seemed silly to buy into it, and yet, Shizuo wanted to.

"Do I have to give you her name?" he asked.
And of course it was Zelda. Zelda had treated him with a kindness that Shizuo hadn't seen in years. Since before he found his strength, when he was young and his mother wasn't as tired. Zelda had helped him at his worst, and had even opened his eyes about Izaya.
Who entered his mind immediately thereafter. He had given something precious to Izaya, and Izaya had accused him of not knowing what that meant. Maybe he was right. But Shizuo did think of him, and feel a small pang at doing so.

"A she, then. Alright. I know your name, it's easy enough to follow the little network here and see who you've been talking to. If you don't continue to show improvement in controlling yourself when we meet and fight, then I will find that person, and..."
And he was on his feet in a flash, charging a large blast. He blew a hole in the wall of the restaurant as well as taking out every table between him and the wall.
"Boom." He smirked.

That -
Shizuo visibly paled, eyes wide and staring. That was an insane amount of power, and Vegeta couldn't be serious. And Zelda - if he really found out her name -
Shizuo was glad he hadn't eaten anything.
"Okay. I will," he finally choked out, feeling a lot of pressure. But motivated. Incredibly motivated.
