Oh no! I'm falling! (Closed)

Who: Ky Kiske and Sol Badguy
Where: Almost-falling
When: July 21st
What: Superhero curse. Sol rescues Ky again, this time Ky reacts a little differently
Rating: PG-13
Style: Past tense prose.

It didn't seem unreasonable to Ky to expect buildings underneath him to stay stable, which was why it was so terrible when he felt it start to shake, like the room was trying to throw him off. There was that moment of panic, of terrible certainty that it was going to succeed, and then his feet were slipping on what had been a horizontal surface.

He grabbed for the edge only to miss it as he cried out.

"Oh no! I'm falling!"

This shit. This is why he couldn't leave the damn cop on his own. Because the cop would go wherever he felt would be the most obnoxious and least helpful. Which sometimes meant following him around. Sol, for his part, had been in the process of booting someone in the face when he heard the shout from not far behind him.

Are you fucking kidding me? Something caught between a scoff and a laugh escaped as Sol dropped after the blond. This was ridiculous, but somehow hilarious all at the same time.

Maybe he had a few screws loose.

"Yanno, I know I've called ya 'princess' before, but come on." The jab involved a broadening of the smirk on his lips, but Sol shifted the hold he had on Ky and shot a hand out to grab at the building's side for an overhang.

Which made for a jarring halt.

Helping people was all well and good, but staying within the range of your own capabilities was pretty important. And, well. As for expecting building to start collapsing...

"Kinky." With a flash of teeth a little too sharp to just be human, Sol angled to peer down past his baggage. How far up were they and could he take just dropping down... Or how far could he afford dropping to avoid having the cop start harping. Hmmm...

"Gonna drop a few more stories." His voice this time was a little more even, a shade towards serious despite the laid back attitude. "Ready?"

Sol's grip tightened on the blond as well, securing him against his torso. Considering the building was still trying to come down, though? Yeah, his hold was rapidly approaching instability.

"Not gonna drop ya," he snorted. Nevertheless, he didn't really blame the guy.

Which was around when blocks and chunks of building material started coming down. Only fortunate thing was that the building'd been cleared out earlier of everyone save the pests responsible for this shit.

Well, then.

Letting go also involved pushing away from the wall, keeping an eye out for sections of falling building to push up on to slow their descent. So much for the original plan of drop-grab-drop until they reached the street below.

"God ain't gonna help us," Sol laughed--laughed, enjoying the way they plummeted, the bouncing off debris and occasionally throwing himself against the wall to slide down, taking bricks with him as it toppled. But they were safer than Ky might have thought, because while sure, they were falling, Sol could still slow it down and lessen the impact.

He hit a chunk of wall and rode it down a few metres, watching the ground rush up at them. Ten metres, nine metres, eight, seven, six...

At four metres above street level, Sol hopped up and forward--hopped, didn't launch himself or anything--and finally hit the ground before rushing out of range of the debris as it continued to come down after them, still keeping Ky secure in his hold.

"Math 'n physics, kid." And a healthy dose of science experimentation, but shh.

Sol peered down at the terrified mass of police officer still in his arms, not sure if he ought to be surprised or unimpressed or blank or what. His expression settled on a neutral sort of curiosity. Welp. The "princess" joke was never gonna die now, at any rate.

"Uh-huh." Not much intonation, whoops. Not that Sol was much for social connection. Well, outside "mockery and sarcasm". On that note (and the princess joke, for that matter), Sol's lips curled up at the corners and he cast a smirk at Ky. "That all I get?"
