Today is the kind of day for a party. A birthday party. But not the birthday of a country, or anything, that would just be stupid, especially when there's no USA in Vatheon (The only country is Italy). No, today is Leo's birthday, and this is a surprise party for him.

There's a lot of planning and preparation that's gone into this. The inside of the house is covered in decorations, all thankfully not fish themed. There's a table for presents, and a table with food, including an enormous cake. There's even a birthday playlist in the background, though "You're A Grand Old Flag" seems to have gotten mixed in here and there.

A surprise party isn't complete without a surprise at the beginning, so when Leo gets into the house, everyone had better be ready to shout "surprise!" Other than that, though, there isn't much structure to the party. People are free to mingle, get food, give Leo presents in person, or get angry at him for all those pranks he pulled.

Leo will love the gift when he opens it, but for now he tucks the gift under his arm while he talks with her.

"Thanks." He grins. "Having a good day?"

The knight nods, folding her armored hands in her lap. Saber's happy for Leo, and glad that those who cared for him were kind enough to throw him a party. Even if she doesn't, the knight feels like she sticks out like a sore thumb.

"This curse.. it's been different," she replies, shaking her head. "I hope this brightens your week for you. How are you faring?"

"I'm doing pretty good. Haven't had much trouble with keeping warm this week." He grins.

"But it's kind of a dumb curse if you ask me. Feel kinda bad for people that don't really know anyone here."

"Or people who are extremely hesitant with physical contact?"

Yes, Saber knew people, but that didn't exactly mean this particularly easy for her. She could have taken advantage of her ties quite easily, she supposed, but that wasn't her.

The knight tilts her head as she smiles softly.

"I don't want to hold you up, Leo. You should enjoy your birthday evening."

"That too." He shrugs. He wasn't the type to go around hugging everyone, but neither was he the type to freak out over physical contact. Though he'd gotten more of it this week than he had in years.

"You trying to get rid of me? Harsh." Leo laughs.

"Ah, n-no! I am helping you get rid of me," Saber stammers awkwardly, realizing she had likely come off that way. A bit of red grows on her upper cheeks. "I.. simply want you to enjoy your evening and there are others likely wanting to talk to you."

"Well, they can wait. I'll talk to who I want when I want. Birthday boy privileges or something." He smirks. He'd never seen Saber blush before and it was cute. Too bad he'd moved on from his crush on her.

"Hmm, perhaps that is so," she returns, the color having already faded from her cheeks. "My birthday is not so far off, but.. I do not have such grandiose plans as this. And I wouldn't expect it."

She gestures around them. It was nice, but Saber would likely be tired of the situation within an hour or so, and parties were not events that ended early in the night. The King of Knights knew that quite well.

"When's your birthday?" He asks with a grin. He has no plans other than to give her a proper gift instead of that prank he pulled on her that morning.

"And I definitely didn't have these plans. I told everyone who knew when my birthday was that I didn't want a big deal made of it. But they obviously didn't listen."

"You do not dislike the party, do you?" she asked, doubting that Leo was against the many gifts and the socializing going on around them. He didn't seem the type to be so withdrawn, like she was.

"Ah.. August 1st, is what I figured it out to be when I translated it into current day calendars."

"Nah. I'm enjoying it, but I woulda been just fine without it." He's not gonna complain about a party thrown in his honor.

"Cool. I'll be sure to get you a gift."

"No need," the knight immediately insists, shaking her head. She's smiling as she does it, however.

"I'll be happy with a birthday best wish. I.. think you're the only person in Vatheon who knows. No, I am fairly certain you are."

"Yeah, sure," he agrees. He's still gonna get her a gift, but he's not gonna push the issue right now. "Really? Is it okay if I tell Annabeth? I promise I won't let her throw you a surprise party or anything."

"Ah.. yes, I don't see why you can't share it with her," the knight answers, pausing before speaking again, "I.. don't want my birthday .. shared with everyone."

Did that sound as silly as Saber thought it did? It likely did, considering everyone wanted everyone to know their birthday and share the ordeal. For Saber, she'd rather just have her close friends know. It was less of a hassle then and more personal.

"I'll make her swear on the River Styx not to tell anyone." He realizes after that Saber might not know how big an oath that was, but he'll leave it to her to ask if she needs to.
