31st Combo - Searching for people who need hugs
Who: Lloyd Irving and anyone

[Lloyd's on a mission. He has no doubt it'll probably be awkward at some points, but it's an important one nonetheless. The nurse told him that people need hugs to keep warm, but not everyone would know that. Who knew who might be freezing to death because they didn't know what they needed to cure it?
Not that hugs fix the problem completely. The effect of the last hug Lloyd had gotten is already starting to wear off. Still, once people know, it'll be easier for them to make sure they get enough physical contact to keep them warm.
So here he is, searching for anyone who looks like they need a hug.]

I thought about getting hot chocolate, but then the lady at the counter said they have a drink with coffee and hot chocolate! I think she said it was something mo-ka. The name was really long!
[A lot of the names for the drinks were long. He'd wondered a bit about that before deciding it wasn't important. He has what he wants in his hands right now, making him cheerful as he sits down. He takes a sip, clearly enjoying his drink.]
Hey, this is really good! [Another sip.] Heh, it's kind of weird how it's hot, but not hot. [His tongue doesn't feel any warmer despite the heat.]

He looks so proud, too, to have learned about it. Yukari just gives him a nod to acknowledge it and watches him as he tries it; a bit curious about his reaction, since y'know, coffee can be pretty bitter.]
This whole week has been weird. (And by weird, I mean kind of a nightmare.) ...N- Never would've pegged you as a fan of coffee, though.

What's been weird about it?
[As he takes another sip, he makes a pleased sound somewhere in the back of his throat. He'll have to remember this coffee shop, and especially the name of this drink.]
Oh, yeah, I like coffee! Why wouldn't you think I did?

[...You know, that's a good question. Maybe it's just that she associates coffee with adults -- generally people who are older, or at least act older and more mature. She's having trouble forming that into words exactly, though, so she kind of falls silent for a bit as she thinks.
The cold really is kinda distracting.]
Just a feeling, I guess.
...And to answer your first question, some people would call freezing for no good reason 'weird.' [Feeling freezing at least.]

Okay, fair enough. I guess this is pretty weird. [Another drink.] At least it's easy to fix! We just have to hug people and it warms us right up.
[He's about halfway through his coffee now. Definitely delicious, even if it's not really helping with warmth.]

Ah, but no, Yukari isn't going to come right out and offer or ask or anything. Heh, she's just going going to give him a look that translates more to "Yeah... I know."]
Kind of inconvenient though, wouldn't you say?
[By now, her hot chocolate is finished off. But it looks like she's got her hand gripped around the cup anyway.]

[He blinks not getting what she's getting at. She might need to be a little more blunt. His skull can be a little bit thick.
As for offering, he thinks he already has, when he asked her if she was all right earlier. She didn't say anything, so she must be okay. Right? Right.

Well, that's simple enough. With a smile, Lloyd stands up.]

[Stepping around to her side of the table, Lloyd reaches down with the intent of giving Yukari a hug.]

Maybe. Try and play stupid as she might, she knew this was coming from the moment she saw Lloyd coming around the table, so... even though she leans back and tries to resist out of sheer stubbornness, she has to give in pretty quickly.]

She feels better already. Which is honestly stupid and kind of embarrassing but she doesn't move. Her shoulders just kind of slump and she sighs quietly.
Her brain says 'thanks,' and yet...]

[Just like he doesn't have to keep his arms around her, and yet he does. It feels good on his end, too, warming him right through his chest.]
We're friends, though, so you don't have to ask.
[Still, his cheeks might be turning a little bit pink. Hey, just because he's doing this to help her out doesn't mean he isn't aware that she's a girl.

...But no one does, and she lets out a sigh as she listens to his words. Her own words sort of being thrown back at her, to be more specific. She should've known.]

[It comes out a tad forced, especially combined with her finally pulling away from him, but... she lets out a sigh that shows how relieved she feels now.
She avoids eye contact momentarily though, looking around as if to make sure no one saw that.]

No problem. I'm glad. I mean, that you're feeling better. If... If you feel cold again, you can come to me, all right? Unless you want to hug someone else or... or something...

[It's sort of like an ice breaker -- or something. Once you've done it once, it can't be so bad a second time, right?
She trails off, nodding absentmindedly.]

[Just a pause at that, before she finally makes eye contact with him again and adds:]
Uhm... so are you sticking around, or what?

Nah. I'm trying to keep an eye out for people who don't know how to keep warm yet. I don't want anyone to freeze because they didn't get to hear about it.
What about you? You going somewhere after this?

[He straightens up and lifts a hand.]

[Yukari shrugs then, and simply watches as he straightens and gets ready to leave. Her expression finally melts into something more neutral after that, and she lifts a hand to wave.
She seems almost relieved, but her smile's genuine enough.]
