31st Combo - Searching for people who need hugs

[Lloyd's on a mission. He has no doubt it'll probably be awkward at some points, but it's an important one nonetheless. The nurse told him that people need hugs to keep warm, but not everyone would know that. Who knew who might be freezing to death because they didn't know what they needed to cure it?

Not that hugs fix the problem completely. The effect of the last hug Lloyd had gotten is already starting to wear off. Still, once people know, it'll be easier for them to make sure they get enough physical contact to keep them warm.

So here he is, searching for anyone who looks like they need a hug.]

[Despite the nod, Lloyd's still getting the feel that something's off.]

Do you know about the curse? The one making people cold?

[zipperlips]

[The way Kurloz scowls is probably an indication that he does, but he nods again anyway. Then he shrugs expansively. Knowing about it doesn't make it any less cold sometimes, unfortunately.]

[Ah, that must be it. Well, that's easy enough to fix. Lloyd moves those last few feet closer and moves to put an arm around Kurloz's shoulders.]

Here, I can help with that.

[What? What's weird about something like this? They're friends already, right?]

[zipperlips]

[Sheesh, Lloyd, you're supposed to ask first, then move. Still, after the initial tense moment, Kurloz heaves a long-suffering sigh and stoops ever so slightly, to make it easier for Lloyd to keep up the one-armed hug.]

[You never quite realize just how tall someone is until you're right next to them, trying to put your arm around their shoulders in a totally manly hug. Not that Lloyd's all that short by human standards, but whoa.

But hey, at least it's working! Awkward height difference aside, he can already feel warmth spreading through his chest.]

Too bad this doesn't fix it for good. It'll last for a while, but it'll wear off, so you'll need to hug someone else. At least it does work though, right?

[He makes another sour face, but nods, and even puts an arm around Lloyd's shoulders to assist in the completely manly embrace. Stooping like this will surely get awkward soon, but he can deal with that when it means not feeling freezing cold.]

[Lloyd waits until he's comfortably warmed up, then holds on a little longer in case Kurloz was colder than him, but eventually it's awkward and tiring stretching his arm up around someone like this.]

So, uh, you feeling any better?

[zipperlips]

[It's a moment or two longer before Kurloz turns so Lloyd can see his face, then smiles and nods. He still doesn't look particularly happy, but now at least he doesn't look quite as miserable as he did.]

[Even with that hint of unhappiness still there, Lloyd decides to take the troll's answer at face value, pulling his arms back and letting them drop. If Kurloz needs another hug to warm up, he can always ask.]

Great. I'm feeling better, too. We should be good for a little while, anyways. You gonna go back to what you were doing before I ran into you?

[zipperlips]

[Kurloz nods, and after letting his arms drop away as well, gives a thumbs up for an answer. He steps away, but waves a little goodbye to Lloyd before he leaves completely.]

[Lloyd lifts his own hand in silent farewell, then turns and goes on his way, too.]
