[CLOSED] An auction won...
Who: Angelo and Serph
Where: At a restaurant
When: June 27th
Style: [brackets] please!
[Serph isn't terribly pleased about having to go on a date of all things, but the other hosts had to also suffer (some more willingly than others) dates with the people who had won them.
At least Serph knows he'll enjoy Angelo's company, even if Serph personally isn't terribly keen on the idea of a date.
While up on the island it's quite warm, in the bubble, it's a little cooler, though still a comfortable temperature. Angelo had given Serph clothing for... Christmas? the previous year, and while it (like everything else in the base) had not been immune to the flooding, the locals had managed to fix almost all the water damage.
So, at two in the afternoon, as agreed in their conversation, Serph arrives at the restaurant in the dress suit Angelo had given him, with a grey scarf trimmed with orange that Yukari had given him.]

Hello Serph. Looking charming as always I see.

What is standard practice on a date?
[Just because Angelo bought a date doesn't mean Serph still can't set boundaries.]
no subject
We usually talk and enjoy ourselves during the meal. What shall you have, Serph?
no subject
Chicken rice... and beef and broccoli.
[He glances over the drinks.]
With tea.

This is the first time I've ever been in this type of restaurant before. I believe they call it a Chinese restaurant?
no subject
I wouldn't know.
[Well... it's not like he'd know much about restaurants in general, especially before arriving in Vatheon. "Nirvana" had no such thing, in the brief time he'd been there. And, well, the Junkyard was essentially an all-you-can-eat diner, provided you had the muscle to overpower your food.]
Are restaurants here similar to those in your world?
no subject
[After that, he's silent for a couple of minutes before opening his mouth again.]
Serph, I'd like to discuss something important with you.

[What he's feeling is something he hasn't felt in a long time. Does he really want this or not? Even he doesn't know.]
You've never felt anything special for anyone before, have you?
I can't be arsed doing small tags on the phone
What do you mean?
Wow you are so lazy
...Never mind. You can forget I brought it up, all right? It was rather foolish of me to say anything. Let's talk about something else.
excuse me but tagging on a phone is annoying
Small talk isn't really Serph's forte, even though Host Club has improved his skills in that area, at least. So he casts for another topic, even as the waiter brings out a pot of tea and two teacups, which Serph nods in thanks, but does not pour the tea just yet, allowing it time to brew.]
You don't need to buy my company. You can ask, next time.
[Preferably not as a date, though :| ]
uh huh
You're far too kind, Serph. I don't know why you are to someone such as me.
no subject
"I don't care what your past is, I care about the you in front of me."
[His tone of voice returns to his usual flat one, though.]
Your friends from your home likely feel the same way.
no subject
Using my own words against me. You're too cunning, you know that?
[Though he lets out a small sigh.]
I doubt it. They're too busy with their own lives to care about me.
no subject
Serph shakes off that train of thought to pursue Angelo's second statement.]
Friends are friends. They are still here...
[And he gestures to his heart, even though he isn't certain why he does it... or why it seems so right.]
...even when they are busy.
[Or gone.]
no subject
Is there room for someone who wants more than friendship?
[When he realizes what he blurted out, he pulls back and turns his head to try playing it off again.]
Not that I could or would show such interest as being in love with someone. That's just ridiculous. Can you imagine? Me being in love? That's nonsense.
no subject
...Real smooth, there, Angelo.
Serph mulls over his words, picking them carefully, while pouring cups of tea for both of them.]
We don't have complete control over how we feel.
[Not brushing off Angelo's confused feelings, but also neither confirming or denying Angelo's first question.]
no subject
I'm not saying I have feelings because that's ridiculous. You know me well enough by now, don't you? The whole love business and game isn't for me nor will it ever be.
no subject
Thankfully, their conversation is cut short by their waiter arriving with their food, setting down two plates of chicken rice, and beef and broccoli. The chicken rice comes with some chilli sauce, though, and Serph eyes it balefully; he hasn't forgotten his 'competition' with Heat in that restaurant for his and Cielo's 'birthday'.]
no subject
I'll take that sauce away from your plate... But only if you give me something in return.
[The expression on his face is that a smug grin.]
no subject
What do you want in return?
no subject
I'll take a kiss or perhaps a little more if you'll let me.
no subject
I decline your offer.
no subject
You can't decline it now.
