It's rude to laugh at a man with a sword, but hammers and lances-?
Who: The Summoner and Leo Valdez
When: Afternoon today.
Where: The Island
Style: Prose
Status: Closed.
The message was already sent out, time set, event known, Leo was the one who prompted the rematch anyway. Kid's probably gotten good even in this shorter amount of time, but Summoner's just excited to see him again and have a fun back and forth. Fighting against a hammer is pretty fun, but then again, he's always liked fighting against clubs too, and they're not terribly different.
Lysander's eyes are to the sky as he waits, same clearing that had stopped in that last time, with the cold fire pit and the small stumps and such used for seats. His lance isn't out yet and his wings are folded neatly behind him, just waiting for any signs of his soon to be company. As always, he has some communes open, "some", try hundreds, but when doesn't he? Eyes all over the island, eyes and ears and what have you, he'll see when Leo makes his way here but won't jump to action when he does. The breeze is too nice, and so is the cooler sun this planet seems to have.

They'd found a dagger at one of the stores in the city and she'd taught him how to use that, so he had that strapped to his tool belt today. He wasn't thrilled with the dagger, it wasn't balanced right for him, but it made for a good back up weapon. Leo had won a lot of money at the festival and he planned to spend a lot of it getting celestial bronze to make his own swiss army knife of weapons. He'd sketched out plans for it and couldn't wait to be able to make it.
Leo entered the clearing where they'd agreed to meet, his hammer slung over his shoulder. He couldn't lie, he was pretty excited about getting to spar with Lysunder again, and it showed on his face.
"Sup? Hope you haven't been waiting too long," he said as he leaned back against a tree. He wasn't sure if Lysunder wanted to get right into sparring or not, so didn't want to bother with sitting down.

"Never too long for you~" A wink, chuckling to himself, putting his hands on his hips.
"You study up?"
no subject
"Yeah, a bit." He taps the dagger on his belt. "But I'm still better with my hammer."
no subject
"I'll say, you and that thing have a good connection. Stronger now? Don't want to leave you too bloody again." Smiles. "Besides, you're not the only one who's been polishing up."

"I'd be all right with an audience too, not like we don't always have one, eh?"

"Let's stay light this time, eh?" Smiles, adjusting his stance to a move defensive one. Legs wide arm crosses infront of him, dagger held down.

Leo didn't hesitate to move in for an attack, his dagger gripped in the same manner as one of his big hammers. Annabeth had taught him several different ways to hold the dagger, but this one came most naturally to him. His arm was crossed over his body so that he could swipe outwards when he was close enough to do so. He stepped to the left and aimed his dagger toward Summoner's liver.

Summoner chuckles and backs up a few steps, holding out his free hand to help Leo up.
"You normally lay down like that for all the good looking guys you meet?"
no subject
"No, you'd be the first. I mean, not," Leo sighs. He's feeling flustered because nothing he says is coming out right. "I don't normally lay down like that for anyone but myself." Which wasn't any better. "Just ignore everything I'm saying right now."

"Try not to stare at me too much, you need to watch where my lance is going too."

"And that's all that matters!"
