The effects of the current curse are well-known by now, and have led to some very interesting happenings over the network for Nepeta to follow and giggle over. As for herself, she doesn't exactly make a habit of hiding anything, so it's hardly been the calamity some other people were treating it as. If anything, Tavros was getting complimented and fussed over and told how cute he is even more than usual, but after a day or two of this she realizes she shouldn't leave her other quadrant out of all of the fun.

She needed to go visit Equius!

She was pretty sure she'd find him in his hive, possibly still working on fixing the damage done by the flood, or else buried in one of his projects. Either way, he was sure to be fully focused on it and ripe for a good old pouncegreet! Now where could her meowrail be...

"Things have been good," she tells him, working on another small section of hair. "I never thought I'd be so happy again somewhere, not since we lost our homes back on Alternia." It had taken her a long while to truly settle down here, but now she really does feel like it's her new home, and she doesn't want to ever have to leave. "What about you?"

"I'm glad to hear that." He considers his own experiences for a moment. "I missed you, and Aurthor, and home, a lot at first. But now I have things here that I'd never have at home, and it's a good place." He sighs, but it's a sigh of happiness at the simple joy of spending time with his moirail and having his hair brushed. "I like it here better than on Alternia. There's less fighting and backstabbing. Backstabbing is very time intensive, you know."

"Backstabbing is silly," she says in agreement. "And people get hurt and I was getting very tired of people getting hurt. I still miss Pounce so very much, but I know she'd be happy that I'm happy and having a good life here! ...do you think we'll really get to keep on living here forever, Equius? For the rest of our lives?"

"Backstabbing is difficult," Equius corrects her. He needs some time to think about his response to her next question, though. He's all too aware that this is the rest of their lives, that they don't really have anything to go back to. Yeah, he knows that they'll both get turned into sprites, and actually have fairly happy existences as sprites, but it's not the same.

"I hope so," he says, and his voice is very quiet. "I really, really do."

"I suppaws hoping is all we can do," she says. The curse wouldn't let them lie about it to fool themselves, but Nepeta wants to hang onto the belief that they really have finally found their place, somewhere they will be settled and happy.
