Who: The Investigation Team (Yu, Yukiko, and Naoto)
Where: Their new headquarters near the Nostalgia Nook
When: Midday
Status: Closed
Style: Starting third; you guys post however you want.
Yu let out a tired sigh, rubbing at his eyes; he hadn't felt this tired since he was balancing watching the Midnight Channel, fighting in the TV, three jobs, appeasing his friends, and somehow doing homework all at once. But with rats running around and a couch where his legs more than dangled over the side for a bed, it was a bit difficult to actually sleep. He needed a new place, but at the same time he couldn't just abandon Naoto to live in that place, and now Yukiko was here as well! Would it just be her? Would the others show up eventually? What if Nanako showed up? Or someone outside of their Team? It was a lot to think about, a lot to consider; he knew that some of his friends would probably want to live on their own, but at the same time, wouldn't it be better if they were close? After all, they had another mystery that they needed to solve here...
He wasn't having much luck; the apartment complexes didn't appeal to him. While it was nice to have your own room in some of them, there wasn't much privacy beyond that. The ones with single apartments wouldn't be bad, but... he just wasn't sure about them.
Yu finally took a break just outside of the Nostalgia Nook, slumping against the side of a building as he let out a tired breath. There had to be something that just screamed perfect to him out there, but maybe his eyes just weren't open enough to see it. He paused at that thought, before he shrugged lightly, pulling out his TV world glasses and slipping them on. Nothing changed of course -- there was no fog here to see though, after all -- and he smiled faintly to himself as he pushed off the building he was leaning against...
...wait a sec.
He turned back around to the building, blinking up at it curiously. It looked like it might have been part of the Nook at some point, as the bottom floor clearly looked like it could be used as a storefront. His gaze shifted up, seeing that there were other floors... apartments, maybe? That seemed to be the logical conclusion. It didn't seem like a bad place, and he was already picturing the bottom floor being used as a meeting place, like they had at Junes...
...or maybe more than that...
After a moment, Yu pulled off his glasses, folding them up carefully.
"...thanks Teddie," he murmured softly, before pulling out his communicator and calling up Naoto and Yukiko. They seriously needed to see this...

"Naoto, anything you can tell us about the current situation would be helpful," Yu prompted.

One could hope at least.

"Well... what I know is that people come and go as the coral sees fit," she started, "It usually only brings people in toward the end of a month... But people are sent back whenever. So if we're looking for time frame, that's it."
She sighed. They were going to be here a while because of what she knew. Thank the coral she'd ordered them some food.

"Is there any reasoning behind the people the coral chooses?" he asked. He hadn't met that many people yet; just that there were a few people from their world now, though from various points in time.
no subject
"Or maybe the kinds of people?"
no subject
She answered honestly, "Many seem to have some sort of power, or connection to power. However there seems to be some difficulty in power usage while here."

Naoto had mentioned that the coral was responsible for a lot of different things, including their lives should they die by accident. How much influence it had beyond that...

Straight to the point this one. But it does have merit: while she could summon Amaterasu, she didn't know how strong her power would be in the city. It would be good to know before doing anything stupid.

"It is because of the coral," she told them, "at least that's the collective thought. By use of spells or abilities, energy is drained from the one using the spell or ability. It can easily be restored by touching the coral, but for an amount of time you feel the power you use drain you."
From the sound of her voice, she speaks from experience. Yu would probably remember what she looked like after the coral restoration battles. She could barely see - let alone walk - straight and a couple days later ended up with bit of a bug. Yukiko, on the other hand, hadn't been there and had only been told minor details. Neither of them really knew what happened down there.

"So, even though we have our Personae, we shouldn't use them unless it's absolutely necessary," he replied. He could only imagine how much of a drain they would be, considering it was a part of their soul they were summoning. "Or at least, only keep them out for short bursts of time if we need to in the first place."
