He'd been in the process of dying. Saix knows that much.

His mind doesn't usually fool him, not in that sort of way at the very least. Everything had been too vivid to be some sort of- dream. He had been fighting the Keyblade Wielder. He had failed. He'd been on his knees, wondering how everything had gone so wrong... And now he's here. His brain just can't understand it.

Then again, that might be because of the blood loss.

Anyone passing through at this bizarre time of night who catches sight of him should be able see the signs. Even seated on the edge of the fountain like he is, shoulders hunched, it's clear he's trembling just slightly. His skin is far too pale, and his breathing is just a bit too quick. Even if he wasn't covered in salt water, his skin would be clammy. There's also the fact that strange shadowy wisps seem to be slipping from his body. They're very faint, however, nowhere as severe as they had been before he had been brought here. A slight relief. He doesn't even seem aware of the black little SFC or the shirt it's settled on besides him.

He'd seem a lot more vulnerable if not for the enormous claymore balanced between his legs, handle leaning against his thigh and the blade against the pavement. It takes a lot of strength to wield something like that...

Approach and hope for the best, or steer clear?

'Rush' is a very optimistic (or pessimistic, considering things) view of what he's capable right now. He could try, of course, but it wouldn't be as fast as he normally is and Saix already knows quite well how skilled Sora really is. He can't understand why he's calling a- truce, especially with his last particular memories, but he's too exhausted to fight against it.

Lunatic's tip is dug into the pavement so he can lean against it, and he continues to glare at the keyblade wielder. "...What do you want?" The words are forced out, slow.

Don't think this is something special for you Saix. He still doesn't trust you any further than he could thrown you, and considering he'd have to get inside his guard first that's not far at all. Sora just doesn't see the point of carrying this fight over.

"Nothing, I told you I was just going for a walk when I ran into you." Sora frowned a bit. "Did you even look at the brochure? Do you know where you are?"

He may in fact be on death's doorstep, but that doesn't seem to stop Saix from sending Sora the most unimpressed look ever. No words are really required with a look like this. It speaks for him. The only way it could ever be more blunt would be the appearance of a big neon sign saying I don't know, you idiot, you tell me.

Maybe that's just the darkness trickling out from him that's making him so ornery.

Or maybe he's always a dick like this.

No, Saix is always a dick, and will forever be a dick. Sora makes an annoyed sound in the back of his throat.

"Come on! Do I really have to spell it out for you? You're in Vatheon! We were brought here from different times, people from all sorts of different worlds. Xemnas isn't here and you don't have any orders to follow so knock it off!"

Eeeh, that's not necessarily true. He's not a dick to dogs. Put on some dog ears, see how the situation goes from there.

Also, yes, spelling out is actually... not really appreciated because, again, Saix. However, at least it's breaking through the fog in his brain. Another World, that much he can believe... But the rest? "Don't have a reason... to believe you."

Saix would like that wouldn't he?

"You don't have a reason to NOT believe me!" Sora grumbled to himself. Why was he being so stubborn! "Look by your foot! There's a brochure right there!"

Another one of those highly unimpressed looks that Saix is just so good at. The brochure isn't even glanced at. "You struck me down." As far as he's concerned, that's enough reason to consider every word out of Sora's mouth a lie. They were far from allies.

"That was in the past!" Sora yells back, though with the way Saix is acting he'd like the chance to do it again. "It's been over a year for me, you really think I think about that?"

"Yes." It's not that Sora isn't a painfully good person... The Organization knew that, and counted on it at times. However, Saix isn't an optimistic individual. The exact opposite, in fact, having had to live the past decade not trusting anyone else but Axel... and look where that got him. Besides, while it was a year for Sora, it was five seconds ago for him.

Sora scowled. Really? Come on you're not making this easy.

"Fine, think what you want, don't listen to me." Sora straightened and turned his back on Saix though common sense told him that was a bad idea. "If you want to get better faster you might want to touch the coral. It'll help."

Was he actually offering helpful advice to Saix? Yes, he was. As much as Sora didn't like him, he didn't want to see Saix drop dead or something because he was being stupid.
