Who: Ronnie and Liz
When: During curse week - late evening
Where: Bar HOMRA
Style: Starting in third but following you!
Status: Closed
[ This week wasn't so bad as far as he was concerned. There were things in the host club to be taken care of, his bosses to check in on and his cushy little spot behind HOMRA's bar. It was starting to be like home, really. Maybe it was really something that happened at the bar.
This entire week was too good to be true, really. Yukio remembered him again, things could go back to normal but there was just something weird. Something off. He paused as he polished one of the glasses, setting it down and shaking his head before placing the glass back onto the shelves behind him.
This wasn't something that he wanted to dwell on, especially when there was a possibility of just one more customer passing through the doors of the bar that evening. ]

Also things were just really sort of tense and awkward around the Villa and it was probably better if she left for a while. For her own sanity.
It's what finds her at the bar. It had been a while since she'd been in one; since Kid had taken her and Patti in, actually. They were always really great places to find a mark. So it's actually comfortable for her to slip inside, only to sidle right up to the bar and give the bartender a smile. ]
Hey there.

Evenin'!
[ He folds his arms over the bartop, motioning to one barstool in front of him. ]
I hope you don't mind my saying but I'm sure I'd recall the name of fair a lass as yourself. Mind giving it to me so I won't forget?
no subject
What? ]
Name's Liz. What's yours?
no subject
Liz. Is there a last name that goes with that? S'not a name I'm likely to forget though?
[ That view is appreciated, by the way. ]
It's Ronald. Ronald Knox. Pleasure's all mine.
Anything I can get you this evening? Hard drink, light drink, a spot of company...

[ She unfolds an arm and props her chin in her hand, drumming the fingers of the other on the bar top. ]
A little bit of each column, if you don't mind too much. But let's start out with a vodka tonic.
[ This might be a situation of having just learned a few drinks for the sake of not looking dumb at a bar. But she's at least tasted each of them! ]

[ And turning around to grab his gear, making a small show of flipping bottles around and measuring what needs to be measured before sliding it over to her. ]
Dare I ask what brings you out here so late? S'not exactly every day a bloke gets this sort of company late at night.
no subject
What brings anyone out this late?
[ Liz lifts the drink to her lips and tips it back, taking a light sip. ]
I needed to get out for a little while.

I take it the city's being a bit of a handful, eh? There's a curse going on and all. Bound to take the wind out of anyone.
[ Have a smile back. ]
Consider this evening a holiday from your troubles then, Miss Thompson!

[ Her hand may or may not be twitching against the bar counter right now. Her eyes have started to wander, and it's just... this place... there's nothing symmetrical about it oh god no why does it have to start acting up now??? ]
Just Liz is fine. Preferred even.
no subject
[ Resting his head on his hand. ]
So how's the city been treating you?
no subject
[ OKAY HOLD ON she's just gotta... the little caddy on the bar is... put that there... okay ]
--I take that back, I can definitely complain.
no subject
Care to lay your troubles on the bartop?
no subject
[ A pause. No that napkin isn't in the right spot--there we go. ]
...Seems the bubble's decided I should find out what it's like to be him for a while.
no subject
That's prolly only to last you a week at the most... looks like you're in a bit of a jam though.
[ A pause. ]
I've only met Kid a couple of times. Him and Maka, really. She was the one who told me about what reapers are like in your world.

[ She lets out a faint sigh, a little nostalgic. Things certainly had been simpler then!
Finally she shakes her head and lifts her gaze. ]
I'll barely get through this week, I can already tell. And he's spent his life like this. I don't know how he's done it.
[ Enough about Kid! ]
So you're interested in reapers?
no subject
[ Absently stirring his own drink, arms folded over the bartop as he tilts his head slightly in thought. ]
Not so much interested as curious. Was only here I'd realized we don't all run the same. I mean [ Laugh. ] where else'd you see a collection of reapers from all sorts of worlds, eh? With their own set of rules! Must be driving Mister Spears barmy by now!
no subject
[ She leans forward, interested, and props her chin up on her hand. ]
What's it like for you?
no subject
That I am. Board certified and all. Reaping's a bit of a nine-to-five for my lot. S'not the same as yours, I'd wager. We clock in, take our assignments, clock out and have a pint at the pub before heading home and doing it all over again the next day.
no subject
[ She tips her head to the side a little at that, taking an absent sip at her drink again. ]
So it's a job title, huh? Still, that's kind of interesting. I mean, Shinigami is the only one that we have, aside from Kid, and he's not even full-fledged yet.
