[Shizuo is in a bad mood. He can't be blamed, really. Izaya had ensured that just about everyone at the New Years party had seen him give the informant chase - had seen the impulsive destruction Shizuo had created in his wake. In a way, Izaya had ruined Vatheon for him - had destroyed his attempt and remaining peaceful and relatively anonymous. Izaya had, essentially, won. It left a bitter taste in Shizuo's mouth. The New Year was already tainted.

He walks along the middle district with no real destination in mind, just a desire to get out and possibly burn off some of the residual irritation from the night before. With a cigarette in hand, Shizuo leans against a building a lights it, inhaling. Exhaling. Repeat.]
