[Closed] An Unconventional Date
Who: Barry
dontsaymyname and Sola
replicatedcourage accompanied by Nila his new fairy friend who got him into this mess.
When: Thursday evening.
Where: Barry's apartment. Pendilium complex, floor 6.
Style: I'll match~
Barry stood naked in his apartment glancing around at the accommodations he'd bothered to set up. He wasn't planning on doing anything to either Sola or his fairy friend, but that didn't mean he couldn't leave the suggestions. His contract with Johnny kept him from initiating anything, but if Sola or anyone else made the first move then that was their business. At least that's how Barry saw it.
As it was he'd set out a tray of various fruits and cheeses. His real date being the diminutive fairy who'd shown up to be Sola's mouth piece he kept everything bite sized for her. There was a bottle of wine sitting on the table as well as glasses of various sizes just in case. Candles were lit and there was soft opera music playing from somewhere in the apartment.
It was more trouble than Barry usually bothered with, but considering his guest, it would be worth it.

Honestly she hadn't actually wanted Sola along but she refused to not go and Sola'd grown a bit fond of her during the last few days. He didn't want to see her hurt. So here they are.
Sola adjusts his pigeon pin on the front of his hat, making sure it's nice and shiny and noticeable, then reaches out and raps three times on the door, hoping Barry honors the deal he made with Johnny.]

[ He went over and opened the door, standing behind it so he wasn't completely in view. His hair was out of it's braid and a bit of it was pulled to the front to give him some small amount of coverage. ]
Nila~ You made it. Oh, and who is this gracing my presence?
[ As if Barry didn't know. ]
no subject
GodSatan made him are understandable. Sola even immediately covers his eyes with his hands.Nila, on the other hand, despite her initial surprise simply takes on a tone of incredulity.]
ItoldyouwhenwetalkedbeforeI'mnotthatkindofgirl.Youcouldn'tputonanything?Atowel?
[She gives a small sigh (not that she can give any other kind) and bobs at Sola a bit.]
ThisisSola.He'sthereasonI'minVatheonrightnowandforsomereasonthinksIneedachaperone.
[Not being able to speak is suffering and Nila can't read his handwriting, so Sola hasn't been able to tell her that Barry is bad news.]
no subject
Forgive me. It seems Vatheon has played the unfortunate joke on me that I've lost all my clothing, and nothing seems to stick.
[ He tried believe him. It's not so bad being out and about, but really he kind of misses his clothes.]
Please do come in.
[ Barry turned and snagged one of the throw pillows lying around. That should work for sitting down at least. ]
no subject
Ohthisislovely!
[She twirls around in the air above the table.]
Youreallywentallout!
no subject
I'm glad you like it, Nila.
[ He gestured to the chair for Sola, and thankfully once sitting down Barry's lower half wouldn't be seen anymore. ]
no subject
Nila, on the other hand, is already enjoying herself. She perches daintily on a wine glass and remains polite enough that she doesn't drink before Barry sits himself down.]

It's from the opera Romeo and Juliet. Have you heard the story?

[Unlike her companion, who actually glances up at the mention of the Shakespeare play. He read it with Johnny, amongst others. Generally the vampire had picked more of the comedies but he'd mentioned something about Sola needing to know the classics so a few of the tragedies had snuck in. There's a lot of them that Sola didn't really understand (what was up with that Scottish queen?) but the story of two star-crossed lovers had been one of the easier to follow and for some reason Barry's reference to it makes him wary.]

[ Barry leaned forward and took one of the strawberry bits into his his fingers. ]
Their families hate each other and are constantly fighting, but these two manage to fall in love despite their families wishes.
no subject
Whatanicestory.
[There's a snort from the other side of the table when she says that though, Sola knowing how the little adventure ends for the two in said story.]
no subject
[ Barry looks over at Sola, the smile still on his face but a look in his eyes that doesn't promise good things. ]
It does have a rather sad ending, but most of Shakespeare's plays are. They're wonderful to see in person.

Storiesaboutloveshouldneverhavesadendings.
[She lights on the edge of the glass again, seeming to lean towards Barry in a show of rapt attention. Her tone turns affectedly sad.]
ThoughIsupposeourswouldconsideringmytimehereislimited.
no subject
Yes, unfortunately our time together is short.
[ He lifted another fruit up for the little fair and moved it closer to her. ]
But I will always remember you.
no subject
[She moves in again, taking a small bite of the offered fruit, then flutters over to plant a kiss on Barry's cheek, leaving a tiny lip mark there outlined in juice from the berry.
Sola nearly lets his head hit the table. Ugh just kill me now...]
no subject
Thank you dear one. I'm afraid most people don't feel the same, even if it's not romantic.
[ Barry tilted his head down in a sad gesture. ]
no subject
[Oh if only Sola could talk... He rolls his shoulder uncomfortably.]
no subject
[ He reached down to grab another piece of fruit. ]
You see, most people don't like me, because of who I am.
[ He looked over to Sola. ]
Your faithful chaperon included.
no subject
[Despite her face being inscrutable because of her ever-present glow, Sola can tell she's glaring at him.]
That'sterribletodislikesomeonefornoreasonotherthantheyarewhotheyare!
[At that, Sola opens his mouth to protest, to say why Barry is bad news, but obviously no sound is forthcoming. Frustrated, it's all the Hylian can do to smack his hand angrily down on the table, startling Nila to fly to Barry's shoulder and hide.]
Ohyoubrute!
no subject
You see? He dislikes us, because of what we are. It's not fair, but he's not the only one.
no subject
[Sola makes a slightly less disgruntled face at that. Nila's aware that he's that young? Actually, he's really not sure what she knows about him.]
no subject
I see. Well for someone like myself, most people are young. It's a shame he doesn't have more respect for his elders.
no subject
[She looks at Sola with distinct disapproval then turns her attention back to Barry completely.]
Butenoughofsuchmatters!Tellmemoreaboutyourself~♡
you know I just realized how similar their coloring is...
[ Of course most of his questions would be guarded, but he would entertain the little fairy. ]
I know right? Johnny is there something you need to tell us?
[Meanwhile, Sola's just going to pick at a little bit of food on the table. He hadn't initially wanted to; even eating Barry's food would be giving the demon too much credit, but he's hungry and Nila ate some without ill effect, so... just a nibble couldn't hurt.]
ya think!
My what a lot of questions.
[ Barry took a bite of strawberry before offering another one to Nila. ]
I'm a traveler. I have a way of getting around, so I never stay in one place fore long.
[ Mostly because Johnny kept moving. He really wouldn't mind staying in one place. ]
no subject
Really?Youmustseesomeinterestingsightsbutdoesn'titgetlonelytravelingaroundallbyyourself?
[She takes a dainty bite of the strawberry as she waits for his answer.]
no subject
[ Barry inclined his head slightly in a gesture of grief. ]
Someone was with me once, but they left me long ago.
no subject
[She flutters down and Barry could feel a very soft, tiny hand resting on his knuckle.]
I'msorryaboutthat,Sugar.It'shardforlonglivedbeingslikeus,isn'tit?
[Sounds as if she's assuming Barry's companion passed away, but Sola knows the truth. He'd like nothing more than to shout at Barry that Johnny left because Barry hurts him, that love isn't shown through violence. Not flushed love anyway, kismesisitude is something else but Barry doesn't make any show of black feelings at all, not from what Sola can tell. He professes to love Johnny, then shoves his hand through the vampire's shoulders or stomach as Sola witnessed when he first arrived. It's not right and it makes his stomach turn to think of Johnny enduring such treatment regularly.
Maybe he won't eat after all.]
no subject
Living a long life, it's almost pointless without the one you love by your side. It'd almost be better if they were never together.
[ Barry looked pointedly over at Sola. ]
One will always end up hurt.
no subject
Therethere.ThoughIhavetowonderwhyyoukeeplookingathimwhenyousaythingslikethat.IgetthefeelingSola'swrongedyousomehow?
[The pair gets an eyeroll for their attention and Nila even gets a tongue stuck out at her and that seems to be the last straw for the fairy, who flies up in Sola's face, wings aquiver.]
Okaythat'sitmisterI'vehadaboutenoughofyoursass!Gowaitinthehall!
[Glowing even redder, the fairy takes hold of Sola's ear and all but drags the Hylian to the door, Sola noiselessly yelping in pain as he tries to escape. Once the door is closed, Nila daintily sets herself back down on the table.]
There,nowwehavehaveaneveninginpeaceandyoucantellmewhathappenedwithoutanyrudeinterruptions.
no subject
Thank you.
[ Barry wiped at his eyes. ]
It's a rather sad story. The man I was with was taken from me, he was deceived by others into believing I was a bad person.
[ Barry held out another piece of fruit to the fairy. ]
He left me, and then Sola came into his life.
no subject
[It made sense. Johnny is rather handsome in her estimation, even if she prefers blonds. And he's surprisingly patient, if prone to a few of those affectations that plague the semi or fully immortal.]
Iwouldn'tblameSolaforJohnny'sactions.Haveyouevertriedtotalktohimaboutthis?Howwasheevenconvincedthatyoucouldbeabadperson?
no subject
[ Barry poured a glass of wine and sipped at it delicately. ]
The only ever listen to one person's side of the story, and never my own.
no subject
[She pauses, letting the statement sink in.]

[ Barry eyes narrowed a little and he took another sip of wine. ]
But Addy is everything to me.
