[Meanwhile, it didn't take long for the girl to get to the Plaza. It's been almost a year since she's been here, she should know her way around her!

Of course, when she finally got a chance to meet up with another chosen...

She couldn't help it, she made her way toward Colette]

Um...you are Colette...right? It's finally nice to meet you in person!

Yep! You're Shirley?

[She kinda reminds her of Walter, a little. There's just something that looks familiar...

It's kind of strange, meeting someone who already knows who she is for some reason that probably isn't because she's Sylvarant's Chosen. She said Zelos was the one who told her to meet her, right?]

It's nice to meet you too!

Mhmm, that's right!

[Well...now what? Zelos told her that Colette was the other chosen that he was talking about? Should she just jump the gun and tell her right away?]

Um...so...can I ask how do you know Zelos?

We're from the same world! He's a good friend of mine.

[He's similar to her, since they're both the former Chosen's...But that's really not something that she'll say unless Shirley says that she knows Colette's a chosen.]

Oh I see...that does explain a lot of things!

[For a moment, Shirley didn't respond. Does she even want to bring up the topic around the Chosen?

Um...a while ago, I told Zelos what I was. Back home, I was the Merines and I learned that he [pause] was a Chosen too...

[So the Merines is like a Chosen? Colette tilts her head and gives the other girl a smile.]

I think I get why he told you to talk to me then. Is there anything you want to ask about? Since I was the Chosen of the declining world.

[Or just talk about. She was a Chosen too, after all.

Zelos might not have mentioned the two worlds thing, but Colette'll explain if she asks. Shirley already seems to know she's a Chosen, so why hide it?]

[If Colette only knew Walter running around, she'll understand.]

Um well...I guess I just wanted to know what the experience was like, that's all. If that's okay.

[She was aware of the two worlds and what Mithos did to save his sister. She didn't agree with it but...she understood what why he did that.]

[Actually, she's met Walter. He just left after realizing she didn't recognize him.]

What my experience as the Chosen One was?

[She has to think for a moment for how to explain it properly, shaking her head when she realizes Shirley might think that means she doesn't want to tell her.]

It's fine, I just...have to figure out how to say it. It was really lonely, when I was little. No one treated me like I was human because I was the Chosen; that's why I don't usually tell people I'm the Chosen of Sylvarant. I don't think I need to be a Chosen here, so I don't mention that I was...

[She trails off. What else to say about it? It'd sucked, really, but Shirley probably already knows that.]

Then I met my friend, Lloyd, and started living the fullest I could in the time I had left. When the Oracle came, I was sad, but I didn't want him to know so I lied about when we'd leave.

The Angel Transformation was really painful. I...don't really know what else to say about it.

[She's been the Chosen all her life, after all.]

[If she does meet up with him again...ahahahahaha...

Shirley wasn't surprised to hear the pause from Colette. After all, if was a horrible experience that no one should ever go through. However, there was a selfish part of her that was glad to hear someone went through the same experience she did.]

No, it's okay! Um...

[As Shirley listened, it sounded like it was pretty similar to what she went through. At first, Shirley wanted to say something but she wasn't sure what to say. Now she felt horrible for having Colette out herself like this.]

I see...I think I understand that on some level. Since being the Merines meant that no one looked at me like I was normal. I...was going to be the one to save the Ferines so they only saw the Merines, never just Shirley. So I never really got a chance to live fully either.

But then Senel... [Oh jeez, does she even want to explain that?] he arrived and I realized that it didn't have to be that way.

[For a moment, Colette feels sick. She actually felt a little relieved that Shirley had been through something similar and so understands a little. No one should have to go through that, so why'd she feel relieved that Shirley understands? That's wrong... She is a little curious though.]

What's the Ferines?

[So she had a friend like Colette did? That's a relief...]

Being the Chosen wasn't all bad, since it's because I was the Chosen that we ended up reuniting our worlds and that we met everyone. I wouldn't wish it on anyone else, but...some good things did happen because of it.

[She's not trying to sound important, but it's kinda true. She's why they started the journey and part of why they changed what their plan was, when they got her back.]

Oh um....[Wait, didn't she tell Walter that she wouldn't tell others what a Ferines was? It looks like she forgot about that. The girl hesitated but Colette had to know.]

The Ferines are people of the water, we're able to hear the voice of Nerfies and breath underwater. [Pause] And that's what I am too. [She's not adding Walter in this.

On hearing Colette's words, Shirley couldn't help but smile back.]

Yes, you are right, there is some good out of it. I did meet a lot of people on my journey and I figured out what to do with my powers as the Merines.

I'm just glad that I could find a way to help both races and ...figure out a solution to everything.

[That was what Zelos was trying to emphasize. Shirley was important but at the same time, she didn't want to abuse her powers onto Walter.]

Oh! I don't think my world has anyone like that, but...it sounds like most of the other race doesn't like the Ferines very much.

[It's phrased like a sentence, but sounds more like a question. If that's true, then there is something sort of similar to that in her world. Humans, half-elves, and elves tend not to get along after all.]

It may not be the same, but that does sound familiar. We figured out a way to help both worlds and a way to make it so the cycle of Chosen Ones wouldn't have to continue.

[She tilts her head.]

Is that all you wanted to know?

[She doesn't really see anything else as important enough to add right now. There was a whole bunch of other things along the way, but what's really really important has already kinda been mentioned.]

[She shakes her head.]

No, they don't. It's because we're not like them, they think of us as...m-monsters. That is why they want us destroyed and....that's why most of us hate them as well.

[Most. She knew that she and Stella never once thought about wiping the Orerines at all.]

Oh? Mind if I ask what you did you and the other thinks of? I'm afraid the only option that I was to slowly talk to each race and make a peace treaty of sorts for now. [Pause] I just hope that it will last...

Um...I suppose...I guess I just wanted to meet you at last! [Ahahaha!] Especially when I heard Zelos said that there was another Chosen...

Well, the worlds were split apart and competing for Mana so we used the Eternal Sword and the Great Seed to make them stay together like they're supposed to, which sprouted the new Tree.

[She lets out a little sigh.]

And then we had a lot of talks with the King of Tethe'Alla and the Sylvaranti leaders. I know that sometime that's not too far in my future, Sylvarant and Tethe'Alla end up fighting, but I'm sure that we end up resolving that too.

[There's no way they won't at least try to stop it, and if they stopped it before, why wouldn't they be able to again?]

I think that's how almost all conflicts like that are solved peacefully, lots and lots of talking.

[She just smiles at Shirley.]

It's really not something you expect to hear, is it?

[She shakes her head. It sounds like Colette had a similar solution to what Shirley had in mind a while ago. She knew that she had to talk to the leaders of both races and come up with a peaceful solution.]

Actually, it sounds a lot like what I thought about in my world.

[She let out a pause before continuing]

I thought that the only way was to talk to the leaders of both races about what we can do and how we can prevent further damage.

[After all, if they do continue to fight, then it will just get worse.]

I suppose it sounds like we both have a mission back home! We must get it done no matter what!

[...But her friends here...]

Yeah, it does sound like that. I...wouldn't mind staying here for a lot longer though. I don't want to forget this place and everything that's happened here. Everyone I've met here, even the ones who've left, are really important to me...

That's right and to prevent violence. After all, they had to deal with 4000 years of hate and fear.

[It was kind of funny wasn't it? The Orerines were fearful of the Ferines and in return, the Ferines hated them.

But then, Shirley had an idea!]

Hm...are you familiar with someone named Zelda? I remember that she had an idea about how we could keep our memories of this place and go back home too.

[She blinks.]

Yours was 4000 years too?

[Or did she find out that the worlds had been separated for 4000 years from Zelos? ...but that doesn't really make much sense, given the rest of what she said.

She nods, smiling.]

Yep! I met her a month after I arrived over a year ago. I'm afraid I don't remember that though.

I'm afraid so, it's been 4000 years since the Orerines and the Ferines have been living together.

[Wait what] Hm? It's been 4000 years for you too?

[There seems to be a common theme wasn't it? She wasn't aware that it was that long for them too!]

Hm...then how about we go talk to her about it? I think it might be worth something to find out what we can do about going back home and um...staying here.

It was 4000 years ago that the worlds were split, yeah.

I agree! We should ask Zelda if she minds first, I think. She might not want to talk about it right now because something happened.
