i need you now

Who: Kraehe (Rue) the angstmuffin and OPEN
When: Whenever this week
Where: Various places
Style: any
Status: open

a. grief

[ Rue has stopped counting the days. A part of her still stubbornly thinks her prince may return to their apartment at any moment, bowing and apologizing gently. With him she was strong. Without him... she felt so weak. Weak and vulnerable. The Raven's blood still pumps through her veins, still taking her and hurting her relentlessly, turning her thoughts dark and cruel. Her memory isn't clear but at some point she's donned those black shoes once more, turning her back into that person she'd come to despise. One may find her perched upon the roof of the library in solitude, one hand covering her face. ]

b. anger

[ It hurts to dance, but she does so without a partner in a secluded area of the park. There are many expressions in her movements. Grief. Abandonment. Anger. How dare her prince leave her in such a state. How dare he promise a happy life in his kingdom, only to vanish and leave her in a foreign land with no escape? Her hands look akin to raven's claws, tearing at the air. Her strong legs strike at nothing. And her red eyes glare, tear-filled and spiteful. She is not Rue, she is Kraehe. And she takes what she wants, even by force. ]

[[ooc: Rue's powers have turned her to Kraehe, though at the moment she has much more bark than bite, with little chance of there being any real damage done to anyone. Feel free to PM for questions or plot uses.]]

[Whenever Yashiro wasn't at home enjoying Kuroh's cooking and company, he could easily be found taking to the streets, walking (or floating) around and simply taking the atmosphere of Vatheon in. He had yet to find any work that actually appealed to him, and without school, research or dangerous gang wars to consume his time there really wasn't much else to do. Sure he occasionally dropped by HOMURA and chatted with Suoh or Izumo, but it was rare he stayed long. Bars just weren't his thing, really.

So it was just another day for him trotting through the park, humming a little song to himself with his trusty parasol over one shoulder, all the blissful assumptions that it's going to be a quick jaunt before he heads home with no trouble at all.

That is until he spots the dancing girl, far enough off the beaten path that he almost misses her, but moving enough to catch his eye.

He stops moving, watching her for several minutes, her angry, frantic movements unsettling to witness. There's something about her--...

Oh, yes. The princess, lost without her prince and unwilling to accept that she had been left behind if only because of the whims of some mystical coral. He really couldn't blame her for her anger, but it was worrying none the less, even if their conversation hadn't exactly left them as friends.

There was something off about her. Something difficult to see from his distance, present enough that he could feel it in the air. Like the Weismann levels of a Damocles Sword powering up, there was an electricity about the scene that actually made his hair stand up on end.

Frowning, he took two steps forward and levitated in to the air silently, guiding himself over to a tree closer to where she danced. He found a branch easily enough and lowered himself down, crouching as his amber eyes peered down.]

[Leaning over as he was, no powers currently active to keep him hovering, Shiro wasn't in the best of positions. But curiosity was getting the better of him, making him peer at this strange sight before him with awe and a bit of fear.

Even the Colorless King in all his ruthless insanity didn't feel like this, and there was a darkness there that was driven by emotions that didn't sit well with Shiro.

He felt guilty, watching her like that, knowing that his words had likely driven her to whatever this madness was. Others had spoken to her, too, but in his apathy and willingness to accept everything at face value he had said some unintentionally cruel things.

He wanted to stop her, to comfort her the way he had comforted Selphie, but a level of fear kept him where he was on his branch. A hand tightened around it as he leaned over just a fraction of an inch more, and it was in that moment the image of the raven flashed and caught him off guard.

He sucked in a sharp gasp and his hand, the only thing keeping him on that branch, let go. Momentum picked up the rest and before he had a chance to catch himself or even quickly levitate he hit the ground face first with a noisy crash.]

Ehhnn... ow ow ow...

N-no no, not at all!

[Nervous, cowed by the energy he feels coming off her, Shiro's voice sounds closer to the teenage boy he looks like and much less like the adult-toned Adolf that he normally speaks as.

He scrambles to his feet quickly, but his proximity to the tree he'd been in puts his back right at. Even in that graceful pose she looks threatening, and everything in him is tense, wanting to run like a coward.]

I was... passing by. That's all. Miscalculated a step.

[Laughing far too loudly out of sheer nerves, he points up at the tree as if that completely explains that he was traveling via tree, or at least by air.

Swallowing hard, he musters enough courage to ask a question.]

You're... the girl I was speaking to the other day, aren't you? The one who lost her prince... ?

[Hearing that made the Silver King's stomach drop to his feet, too many memories flooding back, the very real pain that the Colorless King caused and inflicted on him and so many others still so fresh in his mind. He reeled back, stumbling in to the tree behind him, heart hammering in his chest rapidly.]

A puppet... why... ?

[But the girl he had spoken to on the network had been in real pain, lost and abandoned and wanting so much to cling to hope. To him, no shell could do that, and his expression turned cold at the thought.]

You're wrong. The girl I spoke to exists, just as her pain does.

I place my faith in them because words are all I have anymore, and I choose to believe in the strength of some one's heart. If "that girl" was truly a shell, she wouldn't feel so strongly about the loss of some one she cared dearly for.

[He had been there himself, burdened by the sorrow of losing a loved one so precious to him. He, too, had let his anger and sadness consume him, but unlike the crow in front of him he chose to flee like a coward.

Their methods weren't all that different, though. She was lashing out, he had drawn inwards, but both were ways of keeping people away in some vain hope that they would never be hurt or abandoned again.

Tentatively, he took a step forward, holding out a hand in what he hoped would be considered an offer of friendship. When he spoke, he dropped the implication that Rue and Kreahe were different people, trying to reach the girl he knew he had spoken to before.]

You think that no one understands what you're going through, but that's just not true. Your pain is a pain many know but keep inside for the same reasons you do, but if you let this pain and anger consume you, you really will have nothing left. Do you truly want to live your life that way?

I'm so sorry for being late with this. ;.; school ate me

[Shiro continued to hold his hand out, though his own expression lost some of the softness it had a moment before. Truly, he didn't know why he cared so much, aside from his own guilt from feeling as though he was partly responsible for her current state. But beyond that...

Maybe he was just tired of hiding and convincing himself that there was nothing he could do for people after he made his own terrible mistakes that affected so many.]

Believing in some one isn't a sin, and if some one does wrong then they should have a chance to atone, not be needlessly punished. Guilt hurts enough without the need to add punishment on top of it.

I'm concerned because I see some one like myself. Some one who needs friends... not loneliness.

well we can be slow together then <3

[In some sense, it's a bit selfish, his motives for trying to make her see that she doesn't have to live this life of self imposed pain in misery. If he can save her, save just one from the things he's done to himself, maybe he can be absolved of some of his sins. But not all, never all of them.

Beyond that though, it just hurts to see her in such a state. He doesn't want to walk away, even though everything in him is telling him this is going to take a turn for the worse any second.]

I'm being persistent because I'm right! I know what I saw, I know who I spoke to, and this is not you!
