Monthly Mingle Log
[This week those that are coming for the welcoming party might be surprised to find the plaza deserted. Entirely deserted? No. There is a sign there, along with one helpful local to help point it out to anyone.]
This week we are hosting our party above the water. Please come join us on the island! Don't forget your coat, the winds are quite blustery.
- Station Master
[And indeed, this month all the activities can be found up on the island. The normal tables and booths have been set up at the edge of the old village, near to the beach. There is the customary food and drinks table, sporting a few more hot meals and warm drinks than normal. Wouldn't want anyone to catch a cold, right?
Then a little further on there is the booth for the host club and the one for the welcoming committee. Have a question about this strange new place? Want to maybe find some companionship for an afternoon? Better check out these places.
And then there are the tables covered with... Are those kite supplies? They are! Everything you could ever want to make a kite. Wood and linens, paint and glitter. If you can use it to craft a kite, you can find it here. If you can use it to make your newly crafted kite even more awesome looking, it is definitely here.
Station Master is standing near to those tables, chuckling a little.]
It's such a nice day, isn't it? Nice wind. Wouldn't feel right to not to do something with that. Feel free to fix up a kite for yourself. Some people are already flying their kites over there, see?
We're also going to have a bit of a contest with them later. Come check us out if you are interested.
[And indeed, later in the afternoon, it is time for this contest. Oh, but not just any kite contest. If you came here expecting a beauty contest or perhaps a kite flying endurance test, you are in the wrong place. Instead, there is just Station Master, smiling happily, holding his cap to his head lest the winds take it out to sea.]
All right, all right, everybody, these are the rules. We're going to replace the string of your kites with these abrasive lines. Please be careful, they are rather sharp. The goal is going to be to cut the lines on each other's kites. Please only cut the lines! We don't want anyone losing their heads here, haha.
If the lines on your kite are cut, you're out of the contest. The last person with an intact string wins.
Of course, it goes without saying that this is a friendly competition. No physical fighting please, and again, look out with those lines. Luckily the Head Nurse was willing to attend with her first aid kit in case anyone is injured.
[He turns for a moment to aim a friendly wave at the Head Nurse. She just smiles. Just smiles.]

[And yes. Yes they do need an invite :|
He's looking at Axel's hair now. How tempting was it to see if those spikes could stab through marshmallows. Vanitas leaned back to get a plate of brownie. He'll just chew on that for the moment since he wasn't going any where.]
no subject
[Oh, come on. Axel likes sneaking up on everyone.]
My face?
no subject
With benefits.Roxas leaves it at Axel's answer, though he thinks Vanitas has it figured out anyway.]I think it'd be pretty funny, seeing you flying around up there attacking the other kites.
no subject
It'll be just like your lame frisbees. [Said in-between bites.] Just with a death string attached. [He can get behind the actual kite competition in order to sooth some amount of his urge for destruction.]
no subject
[Sees a marshmallow on the table... and casually flicks it over in Vanitas' direction.]
no subject
[This isn't the first time you two have randomly started talking about frisbees either. What's up with that?]
no subject
[:D
He'll flick a candy mint right back.]
I thought Ventus told you everything, blondie. [Digging out a chunk of chocolate from his brownie.] When they met, this weirdo used these frisbees to fight.
no subject
Correction: Lea used them. Not me.
no subject
[Yep, definitely supporting Axel's correction there. And...]
And Axel's face isn't ridiculous. ...unless it was on a kite.
no subject
You're biased, blondie. [Since you want to kiss that.]
And what did you graduate to? Bigger frisbees?
no subject
Axel rolls his eyes at that before he glances up at the ceiling... then swiftly makes a single chakram appear between his fingers so he can shove one of the spikes right up in Vanitas' face.]
These.
no subject
He isn't all that surprised by Axel's response, but he does sit up straighter.]
Axel--
[Can we try to be civil? Jeez.]
no subject
Vanitas doesn't actually react to sudden spike close to his face. Reaching up to slide a finger along the edge to see if it could draw blood.]
What other little tricks can you do? [He really wouldn't mind playing rough.]
no subject
You might find out eventually.
no subject
So long as you guys don't start fighting...
no subject
[He knows the risk of touching sharp objects, man. Not even going to act like he's cut himself.]
For now.
[They can fight when Roxas isn't around.]
Want to see mine?
no subject
[He'll totally behave. ... As long as Vanitas behaves.]
Mm, sure. I show you mine, you show me yours.
[In the cleanest way possible.]
no subject
[...well, maybe a little concerned.]
no subject
We should relocate to some where more...private if you want to see anything else.
[His critters would love to befriend all the lovely people flying kites, if befriending dealt with stabbing and killing.]
no subject
Oh, so there's more?
[Glances over at Roxas]
Then finish your drink, kiddo. No one's stopping you.
