"S- sorry. Orwell doesn't ring a bell. Is he a new writer?" He did sound interested in it, however, as the subject sounded possibly intriguing. On the other hand, it was also something that he could look into later on his own. In the meantime, he was offering him that towel finally. "Right now, I live in Yutopil apartments near Nostalgia Nook. It's quite a nice building, really. We can go there now, if you'd like."

With a friendly enough smile, he waited for a moment or two before starting back in the direction he came from. "The starfish is actually a communcations device around here. It's like a..." There was a slight pause as he looked for the proper word he was trying to find. "Cell phone, I believe. You can talk to people over it like using a regular phone, send them text messages, or even video chat. As a default, however, the thing broadcasts across the network as a whole so everyone can pretty much see whatever it is that you're doing. Of course, you can also hold private conversations over it." He hoped it was a simple enough explanation but sometimes he did have a habit of accidentally making things more complicated than they should be.

"Hm..." Gilbert filed that information away in the mental folder that he had labelled 'Vatheon'. He was determined to solve the mystery of this place, and the locals seemed like a good clue to follow. He was sure he wasn't the only one who was investigating, but Gilbert was over eight hundred years old and fucking awesome. He could solve this mystery easily enough. He rubbed his chin in thought. "So the locals live separately? How do they act? Like, completely slavish or something?"

Tight-lipped locals. Gilbert felt like they had stepped into a horror film - next thing they knew there'd be mysterious noises in the middle of the night and they'd stumble across the locals burning a cross and conducting a bizarre ritual. Possibly human sacrifices. Ah great, not Gilbert just disturbed himself. Well he wasn't going to allow himself to be alone with any of these 'locals' without an escape route nearby.

"Hm..." was all Gilbert said though. "So made any friends here?" he asked, switching tracks.

"Vietnam and Japan are here?" Gilbert asked, scratching his head. "Oh, I think you mentioned that earlier, I think..." Yes, and Italy and America were here too. Well at least there were other nations aside from there lurking about, although Gilbert smirked at the thought of meeting up with America. He was always amused by the boisterous nation, and he had fond memories of him and General Von Steuben whipping the little brat into shape during that revolution of his. Well, up until Gilbert had to get chummy with the grumpy England.

Ahaha, so many 'accidental' bayonet stabbings...

Gilbert hurriedly shook himself from memory lane though. "Different versions of home?"

"So, alternative universes of our universe?" Gilbert asked, starting to sound puzzled. He paused at the name 'Pokemon' though. Pokemon like...the game? Gilbert had spent most of his time playing a large array of video games during recent years, so 'Pokemon' did raise red flags. "...what's N like?" he asked after a lengthy pause.

Gilbert very much wanted to meet this 'N'. He enjoyed the games - or world, now that Gilbert learned it was real - and he especially wanted to meet 'Purrloin'. However, this brought up a troubling fact. If 'Pokemon' was a game in Gilbert's universe, but was reality for N...did that mean that Gilbert could be a fictional character to another universe? That was...confusing and scary to think about, so he firmly punted that thought from his head.

"Huh, I wanna meet him," he said, nodded solemnly. "Anyone who likes animals can't be that bad." Although Gilbert was a complete asshole to humans and nations alike, he was known for being incredibly soft and weak to cute little animal - and not so cute large /dangerous/ animals. There was a humorous story where a drunken Gilbert managed to climb into the lion exhibit in the Berlin Zoo but- ah, it isn't much talked about within the Weillschmidt household.

Gilbert smiled at securing a meeting with this 'N' and had a slight spring in his step. He tilted his head at the mention of two other people, trying to figure out if their names were familiar to him to, but...well 'Jack' and 'Gracia' weren't enough to go on, definitely not a unique name like 'N'. "Hm, maybe I'll run into them too, since I'm staying around yours..." Anyone Canada was friends with were most likely safe anyway.

"Convenient," Gilbert remarked about the close locations of the park, shopping, and the magical coral. "Don't have to travel all over the place then to get the stuff you need, then."

"A great way to socialise," Gilbert chuckled. He looked about them, rocking back and forth on his heels as he considered. Well, Gilbert was still pretty exhausted, so he guessed they should shop now and he could explore the park and stuff tomorrow with a clearer head, and his own clothes and shoes. "Alright, so let's shop. I really wanna go to bed again," he groaned theatrically, throwing an arm around Canada's shoulders and slumping against him, putting a considerable amount of weight on the blond.

Gilbert almost laughed when Canada half carried him to the closest shop, and made no effort to make things easier for the blond. He dragged his feet and practically clung to Canada like some strange koala bear, hiding his grin by pressing his face into Canada's shoulder. He was entertained by his burst of childish behaviour, but he really was tired. He felt drained, more than anything. He usually had a cup of strong coffee by now, so he supposed he was starting to crash or something.

Gilbert caught the offer, and brightened at the mention of the sweet shop. With a happy noise he clambered onto Matthew's back - which seemed a bit weird, since Gilbert had a few inches on the Canadian, but was built like a stick, so weight wasn't worrisome - and settled his chin atop of the blond's head, squeezing Canada's hips with his thighs.

"Yeah, a quick stop at the sweet store is a must," he said solemnly.

Gilbert wrapped his arms around Canada's neck, resting his cheek against blond hair as he let the Canadian carry him about like Gilbert was a ten year old. He didn't mind. He still made his brother carry him like this by whining loud enough. He had discovered a whining pitch that made Ludwig physically recoil in pain and he exploited it ruthlessly.

"Best we shop quick then," Gilbert murmured, wriggling his toes as they stepped into the shop. It was warm, almost humidly so.

Gilbert nodded and let Canada haul him about the store. The first order of business were the shoes of course, since Canada's were too big for his feet - the only drawback was that he'd have to hop off of his friend to purchase them. Ugh, no, why didn't he have telekinetic abilities?

Gilbert slid off of Canada's back when they reached the small shelf full of shoes, and in an effort to use up as little time as possible, reached out and grabbed a pair of trainers that were his size. "Okay, got shoes."

Gilbert never tried his shoes, relying mostly on gut instinct or luck to get comfortable shoes. He usually got the right shoes for him on the right go anyway, because he was awesome. "Nah, that takes time and work. Clothes!" he said excitedly, beginning to nudge Canada towards the clothes rack.
