there's no snow here...
Who: a young Saphir circa ND 1992 and people he definitely doesn't know
When: earlier in the week!
Where: the Plaza, although he does wander eventually so wherever he ends up being found
Style: [brackets work, but I can do prose too!]
Status: open!
W-where is this place...
[A young boy with white-ish hair is sitting in the Plaza, really unsure as to how he got here. For all of his intellect beyond his years, he can't really come up with a good explanation for how he got transported somewhere outside of Keterburg. Unless... someone came up with a way to teleport people? Would that involve breaking down their fonic composition and putting them back together again -
- and then it suddenly occurs to him that he's not in Keterburg. This means that he's somewhere else, Yulia knows how far, and that he's utterly alone. All those happy looking people walking around don't count.]
J-Jade? Nephry? Peony?
[He slowly gets to his feet and looks around a little more closely. It doesn't look familiar at all. Just where is he now?
Regardless, he continues to look around, taking steps as he very cautiously walks around looking for his friends. Passers-by might see him not paying attention to what's right in front of him, however, and he might just bump into someone on the street, at which point he will apologize profusely for doing so...]

Yet the sight of Saphir gives him pause. He doesn't get a chance to meet with other children too often. His father wouldn't allow it. Still, he's curious. He's often wondered what it'd be like to have a companion around his own age and this boy might know what this place is called. If it's in Tethe'alla... Well, he doesn't have to say he's from Sylvarant. It'd be one of those cases where lying is allowed.
Slowly, he moves out from his hiding place to approach the boy.]

[Because someone just came out of the shadows and that's kind of scary! And Saphir just isn't good with surprises. Granted, he's been faced with ones of the... scarier kind as of late. Getting shoved in front of Malkuth soldiers guarding Peony's house was just one of them.
Still, he looks around frantically until he sees the other boy, who appeared to be slightly younger than him. The way he's kind of hiding looks really, really creepy...]
no subject
Do you know what this place is?
no subject
[Oh, so maybe he's not the only one who doesn't know where they are! That makes the silver-haired boy feel a lot better. With that bolstered confidence, he decides to hazard a question - ]
Are you not from here too?
[Oh no, the blue-haired boy probably thinks he's crazy now or something...]
no subject
Are we supposed to wait to be rescued?
[Would someone even come for them? They're in a big city that's underwater and Yuan's never heard of such a place. It must be a very secret city. Either way, his father will scold him for getting himself kidnapped.]
no subject
We have to be rescued? Is that... going to take a long time?
[Although Saphir's bigger concern is Jade and Peony making fun of him for it after. He won't let that happen!]
W-we should look around, too!
[Okay, easier said than done. And that took some effort to say already...]
no subject
[His face lights up hopefully. He knows perfectly well this kid will run away if he finds out Yuan's a half-elf, but if he pretends to be human, then maybe... Maybe they can be friends.]
no subject
[The other kid looks happy. Almost no one every looks happy to hang out with him, so this makes Saphir almost ecstatic. He can't let the other kid find out that all the people in Keterburg think he's weird, then. No one ever seems to want to hang out with him when they do...
Saphir nods, with a big smile.]
I-I'm Saphir. You?
no subject
[He falls silent for a moment, debating whether or not to ask the question that's on his lips. If this boy is from Tethe'alla, can they really be friends? They'd never see each other again. ... Well, maybe when they're both old enough to be sent off to the battlefield, but that's not a good place to meet friends. On the other hand, if he's from Sylvarant too, maybe they can fight together.]
If... If you're not from here, where are you from?
no subject
Is that even possible?]
... I'm from Auldrant.
[He decides to hazard a more dangerous question:]
Have you heard of it?
no subject
No... Is it a town somewhere?
no subject
No, it's a... another world. Where I come from is Keterburg. It's a snowy town.
[How does he explain alternate worlds? It doesn't seem like Yuan has come across the idea, anyway. Saphir frowns - he's not very good at explaining things...]

[A red-headed teen calls to Dist from a bench, chin perched on one knee with the other leg dangling off the edge, toe just barely scraping the cobbles. His clothes are of high quality, obviously a noble of some sort, but you couldn't tell by his posture.]
no subject
[The last thing Saphir wants is to get wrapped up in someone else's plans, because... well, that happens to him all the time already!
Also, this teenager doesn't really look like someone who's easy to get along with. Saphir doesn't like grumpy people, they scare him. Is it showing on his face? He's not sure, so he tries to straighten up and not look quite as scared as he is.
Though it's probably not working.]
no subject
[Hm... this kid seems pretty weak-willed. Perfect.]
no subject
[To either count, at that. Saphir has no idea who this red-haired boy in front of him is, or why he seems so scowly.]
Do you know? Where we are, I mean...
no subject
We're in the underworld~ You died.
no subject
[No, that can't be right. There are certain things that people go through when they die. Saphir is smart enough to know the signs, and he certainly doesn't look like he has any of them.
Although... are things different in the underworld?
He shakes his head, though more for his own sake. He'll just vehemently deny it for now.]
That's not true! W-wouldn't that mean you're dead, too?
no subject
[His grin contorts into an evil smirk as Zelos hops from the bench and looms over the smaller boy, arms up and threatening.]
no subject
[Saphir backs up, not even able to hide his fear. This guy is scary! Of the strangers that could come up to him, of course he would get the one that really just wants to mess with him.]
Why would you do that, anyway?
no subject
Because I eat cry-babies for breakfast!
no subject
[That's right, rational logic! He just needs to think clearly about his situation. Saphir takes a breath and stops himself from backing up, although his legs are still very visibly quaking.]
So s-s-s-stop it!
no subject
[Zelos doesn't stop advancing, chomping down his teeth on empty air right in front of Saphir's nose on the word 'break'.
This is the most fun he's had since arriving in this stupid city.]
I AM SORRY FOR BEING ALMOST A MONTH LATE
[He grounds himself and stares back at the other boy, intent on staying right where he is... even if he's scared out of his wits.
Of course the other boy's not a demon. Demons don't exist. Alternate dimensions are silly. Logic, Saphir, more logic! First of all, he'll sound more convincing if he doesn't stutter. So he takes a deep breath - well, two - and spits out his next words with as much conviction as he can muster.]
Stop bothering me!
[It probably didn't work, but one can hope...]
Never feel sorry for that username
Who're you lookin' for?
wails loudly!
M-m-me?
[He looks up from the ground and sees the person crouching down in front of him, looking right at him. That's almost kind of scary, eek! But it's kind of more surprise than fear, and Saphir doesn't think that this person means badly - for now, at least.
... still, he really needs to stop looking quite as obviously lost, doesn't he...]
I'm looking for my friends. T-they're not here...
[Nope, not working.]
no subject
Jeez, this kid, though.]
Yeah?
[Frederick grins just a little. Not cruelly or mischievously, but a bit genuinely. Contrary to popular belief (or his usual attitude), Frederick isn't a total jackass. Snarky and nonsocial, but there's only so mean you can be to a scared kid. That being said, he's not really offering himself as something for the thing to latch onto.]
Place seems to be full of people who're trying to figure out that same kinda thing.
no subject
[So maybe Jade is looking for him, too! Though it's kind of difficult to imagine Jade being any kind of scared.
It's certainly not Saphir's usual style to ask people questions. He's not very good with talking to people, first of all, let alone complete strangers! But if he's going to find Jade, then he has to buck up somewhat. Imagine if he becomes the one to find Jade and help him! That would definitely be worth it.
So with that in mind, he takes a deep breath and puts on his best smile.]
Have you seen my friends?
no subject
...And shit, the kid's all worked up now, isn't he? Scratching the back of his head, Frederick glances off to the left and the right.]
Pretty sure there's loads o'people lookin' for their friends or anyone familiar. Gotta tell me about yours before I know if I've seen 'em, though.
no subject
[Think, Saphir, think! What kinds of recognizable features could he give this person to help him out?]
One of my friends has shortish light brown hair, a little longer than mine. And red eyes.
[Those are pretty noticeable.]
And another has longer blond hair and blue eyes...
[That... might be a bit more common, but that's okay to Saphir. Peony would probably just tease him for being so worried, anyway.]
