[She doesn't have long to wait as Zelos is a pretty punctual guy. He's abandoned his usual outfit in favor of a nice pair of slacks with a tucked in button down shirt and a casual blazer. Most notably, his headband is not present, his hair framing his face a bit more evenly without. With a grin and a wink, he produces a white rose for Shirley when he reaches her and offers it with a small bow.]

Hey Shirley-hunny~ Hope I didn't make you wait too long.

[Shirley wasn't expecting Zelos to be dressed so nicely for a date like this. Now she feels a little bad in comparison! All she wore was her normal skirt, a plain white shirt with a pink coat. As he took that small bow, she lets out a giggle before taking the white rose.]

No, you didn't. I just got here a short while ago so you don't have anything to worry about!

[With that, she shifts around to see if there was a certain someone running around. So far, so good...]

[Well he hadn't dressed up that much. It's casual, it's just casual from another planet! Kanaya had made him a whole bunch of outfits though, he figured he should wear them.

He smiles brightly at Shirley, pleased to see the blonde's enthusiasm when she'd been so hesitant on the call, and offers his arm for her to take.]

Shall we~?

[For a moment, she stares at his arm before shifting awkwardly some more. Now that Shirley thought about it some more, this was her first date wasn't it? She never went anywhere to Senel much less let him hug his arm like that.

However, she does takes it but she was rather stiff. How does I date?]

Mhmm, w-we can go now.

Hey, no need to be nervous. It's just an amusement park, right? Relax, relax.

[He leads her in at a leisurely pace, pointing out various rides he thinks she might like. Spinning ~~teacups~~ scallop shells, a roller coaster shaped like an eel, a Ferris wheel with bubble-shaped capsules, not to mention the booth games with various stuffed fish and things as prizes. All ocean themed fun!]

What would you like to do first?

I'm sorry, I'm afraid that this is the first time I went on a date with someone like this. But I'll try to relax!

Hm, it's up to you, I'm good with whatever we do!

How about this ride, then?

[He casually guides them over to stand in line near the whirling shells. The beauty of the ride isn't just that it can be as high or low impact as you want depending on how you spin the wheel in the middle, but the centrifugal force tends to push the shells' occupants together. Not to mention the lingering dizziness that sometimes requires said occupants to lean on each other once the ride is through. It's fairly brilliant for a date, especially a first one since the girl, if she's shy, can blame the leaning on him on being dizzy.]

[As Shirley looked over to where he was guiding her, she was looking at the ride. Ah, spinning ~~teacups~~ shells was it? She remembered a ride like this when she was living with Senel. She never went on one due to living in secret for so long but she always wanted to try one.

Might as well try now!]

I don't see why not! We better go if we don't want to wait in line, let's go!

[Huh, Shirley was really excited about this]

[That's more like it! He was worried she'd be stiff and nervous the whole day, but it's good to see her loosen up. He grins wider and gently pulls her to the gate, just behind one other pair as the operator stops the ride for the previous passengers. They're let on a moment later, Zelos letting Shirley pick which color shell she'd rather sit in.

They're quite cozy, actually. Built for two~]

[Hm, this was tricky, she was never a picky girl even if she had a fondness for pink. As she looked around for a color, she eventually picked on the one to the left. It was blue.]

How about this one? [She said before waiting for Zelos. As she walked over, there was a small smile on her. It seems like that she still had a fondness for Ferines colors, didn't she?]

[Considering he hasn't ever heard of a Ferines, he doesn't make the color connection. Playing the gentleman, Zelos helps Shirley up into the shell, then seats himself next to her to wait for the ride to start. There's an ancient-looking local slowly making her way to another shell with one of her grandkids. This might take a few minutes.]

So tell me a bit about yourself, Shirley-hunny♥

[As Shirley waited for the ride to start, she couldn't help but notice that Zelos was flirting with her again. She was starting to relax a bit but the problem was that she didn't know how to act when someone does. Just stay calm Shirley, and everything will be okay]

Um...well, I'm afraid there isn't much. [LIES!] W-What do you want to know about me?

Anything, everything~ Where you're from, what you like to do, what interests you, anything you want to share at all I'm all ears.

[She must not date a lot considering how stiff she got again when he asked about her. Is it simply because she's shy or is it this Walter guy she mentioned? If she's just shy it's pretty adorable but if she's on edge because of some overprotective guardian - or jailer, as he still suspects - than words might have to be had. It's not right to keep a girl cooped up!]

[Uh, that's quite a lot Zelos. Where to even begin...

There was still a lot of things that she wanted to tell but she made a contract with Walter. She is not to mention that she is a Ferines nor that she is the Merines. Everything else was fair game but were still some things in her life that she had trouble talking about.]

Hm...would it come to a surprise if I told you that there was a continent that moves around the world regularly like a ship?

I'm from a place called the Legacy and um...I like normally there?

[Good enough!]

The Legacy, huh? Sounds interesting! There's no moving continents on my world. There's a floating city in the sky, though it's not that interesting. It's pretty dilapidated.

[Maybe they should do something about that when they get back, come to think of it... if they get back.

Her comment about living normally makes him raise an eyebrow. No one who lives normally actually says they do.]

So what kind of 'normal' things do people do on the Legacy, hm~?

I don't think so, I never seen a floating city before! Even if it is like that, it's still something! I bet that it was pretty nice back then...and it's still nice now even if it beyond repair...

[Oh Zelos, why. There was a noticeable pause coming from her before she said anything else]

We protect people from monsters and try to help others.

[But then, she remembered what Hubert said to her] We use artes and spells to protect them but I'm afraid there isn't much I can do in a place like this...

Oh no? My artes and spells still work so I bet yours do as well.

[The announcement comes over the PA for the ride's rules and stops Zelos mid-sentence. He grins broadly as the shells begin to turn, gaining speed as they go. Don't look now Shirley, but Zelos has his hands on the wheel in the middle. I hope you don't mind getting dizzy!]

Um...I meant maybe not quite as well as before but...

[And when she heard the PA. With a smile on her face, she quickly placed her hands on the wheel as well the moment the shells started turning. As each second passes by, it was obvious that the girl was enjoying herself. Her laughter was loud and proud.

Hm...now that she thought about it, it was the first time she laughed that hard before...

Oh well, she didn't seem to care right now. She was having fun!]

[It's gratifying to see Shirley laugh like that, to let go and just enjoy herself. He'd gotten the impression she doesn't do that very often. With a wicked grin, Zelos abruptly changes the direction of the spin, strong enough thanks to his crystal to do so without much effort. It's surprising and he hopes to make Shirley squeak and laugh more before the ride is over.

She's much cuter when she's having fun.]

[What the...hello sudden turn! Shirley didn't know he was that strong! Hm, she might have underestimated how much muscle he has but she didn't seem to mind. With that sudden turn, Shirley will do her best to make sure if she can make it go even faster. She'll feel dizzy later but she doesn't care right now.

Yup, she's laughing even louder and giggling more than before]

How fun~ I think this is the first time I rode on anything like this!

[In fact, this was probably the most carefree she felt in a while]

[There's a few more minutes of spinning, but all too soon (or maybe just soon enough) the ride comes to a stop, leaving the two in their shell giggling like children. Zelos slips off first, still somehow perfectly balance despite the consistent spinning, and offers his hand up to help Shirley down. He's a bit worried she won't be able to keep her feet on her own after all that.]

[He was right. The moment that Shirley got off the ride, she was feeling a bit lightheaded. However, that was okay because it was worth it. She was giggling as she could feel Zelos's hand on hers.

With that, there was the sudden realization that Walter could be watching again. The moment that she got back on her feet, she quickly let go of his hand]

Ah, that certainly was. I never rode on anything like that before so...it was rather nice.

[Back to formalities we go]

[What's the deal? She was having so much fun a minute ago. Gotta work harder, he guesses. Making no mention of her suddenly going formal, Zelos smiles and offers his support to head back to the main thoroughfare. She must still be dizzy.]

I love spinny rides like that! My favorite has to be the ferris wheel though.

[He points to the large wheel towering over the rest of the park.]

You get a real nice view and it's a good place to talk privately.

[Or do other things privately, but he's not gonna push it when Shirley's so skiddish already.]

[Don't pay attention to Shirley, Zelos. She's just worried and still isn't sure how to react to dates like this. While she was feeling fine, she wouldn't mind sitting down a bit should anything happen]

Oh, I seen one of those back home. It seems so tall, it must be really scary to ride on that.

[She glances straight up at the ferris wheel. Just...wow]

But never anything that tall thoug-

[Wait what?]

A-Ah...I'm not too sure about that. Is there another ride we can go to? [And avoiding the topic, yay]

Well, there's always the roller coaster.

[He points out the vaguely train-shaped ride at the end of the walk right as the cars take a dive down a steep hill, the passengers squeals audible even from as far away as the pair is standing.]
