[Zelda was always up for reasons to visit the library, even when she was busy. Besides, Feferi seemed like a nice enough girl. She showed up an hour after her last post to the young troll, only belatedly realizing that she hadn't sent directions.

Well, if it took her too long to get here, she'd just have to do that!]

[ While Feferi did get lost along the way, she was unashamed to ask for directions and made it only a few minutes later than she intented. She's not very late at all, but has a moment of looking around for a familiar face. She approaches the only person around who looks like they're waiting for some with uncertainty but no hesitance. ]

Hi there! I'm Feferi...?

[Zelda's eyes dart first to Feferi's tiara, and then to her face. Wow, her tiara is really similar to Zelda's! She smiles widely.]

Hello. Feferi, I presume? I'm Zelda.

Zelda, hi! You weren't waiting for me, were you?

[ Feferi more or less bounces out of her chair as she's addressed, and is possibly a little too loud for being in a library. ]

[Being excited about the library is perfectly natural, no worries!]

Not at all. Let's go to one of the study rooms, shall we? I wouldn't want to disturb other readers.

[Zelda heads off towards one of the side rooms, picking up a book on human anatomy on the way. Oh Feferi, try not to have your head explode when you find out what a uterus is...]

Alright!

[ Normally she would be rather good at following along, but manages to fall behind more than once as she stops to look at book titles, and has to job to catch up. ]

[Zelda settles down, smiling.]

I do not know that much about troll anatomy so I can't offer you much of a comparative analysis, but I can say a few things. For one, all humans have red blood. If my understanding is correct, that is not so with trolls. Humans also possess far less variance in their physical strength than trolls do. Quite possibly the largest difference between trolls and humans is the method of reproduction... but I will not get into that unless it's something you want to hear about.

[ Feferi listens very contentedly to the explanation, nodding and taking it in stride... up until there's talk of reproductive. She flushes deep pink in her cheeks, and laughs a bit uneasily. ]

No, that's okay! We can talk about the other stuff some more!

We do have different colored blood, from maroon all the way up to violet, and then special types, like mine! Different blood colors usually come with other biological differences, like lowbloods having really neat abilties, and the uppermost highbloods being seadwellers... like me! Humans don't have anything like that?

No, they do not. Humans have different skin colors based on the amount of sun in their native area, but it doesn't offer them any special abilities or big changes in physiology. The variety with trolls is really fascinating!

[Zelda opens the book to a diagram of the systems of the human body (female version). ~~She doesn't like to look at penises, okay?]~~

I am not sure what the other differences between humans and trolls might be, so why don't you take a look and point out anything unfamiliar?

[ ~~Feferi probably wouldn't either if she knew what they were for.~~ She looks at the diagram closely, inspecting it for goodness-knows-what. Her brow furrows deeply and she seems really quite confused. ]

It does look kind of different... do you have some paper and a pen? It would be easier to draw, I think, than explain!

Certainly.

[Zelda gets out her handy-dandy notebook (ding!) that she always carries just in case she needs to make note of something and a pen, handing it over to Feferi.]

Okay, so...

[ Referencing the human female diagram, she doodles a vague figure and adds in some nondescript organs, bone structures, and other bits and pieces that seem vaguely similar but alien all the same, pointing out the functions of each one. It's about as comprehensive as you would expect a medical diagram to be when drawn by a thirteen year old girl, but she seems very proud of it when all is said and done. ]

I think that's the big differences!

[Zelda happily explains the human version, skipping over the reproductive organs. After that, she adds on the Hylian version.]

As you can see, the primary difference is in the ears. It's said that our ears are long in order to be able to hear the voices of the goddesses. There's also this gland here on each ear at the base and the tip. It is what causes our ears to be so sensitive, and it is also what I believe is responsible for the telepathic and prophetic abilities that some Hylians possess.

[ Nodding, she listens carefully, perking up a bit more at that last bit. ]

So some of your kind have those abilities, but it's sort of random?

Yes. As time passes and we move further from the time when the goddesses walked the land, those who can harness their power are fewer. It almost always shows up within the royal family, though.

That's kind of funny, just how it's the exact opposite of how trolls are! The closer you get to being royalty, the less likely you are to have anything like that at all.

Truly? Then how are you expected to care for your people?

[Zelda seems genuinely puzzled.]

[ That seems to hit a nerve, but she doesn't seem mad-- she simply frowns a bit, and looks quite unused to doing so. ]

That's actually a very big problem. The aristocracy doesn't take care of our people! It oppresses them! It's terrible.

[What the hell? That's so backwards! Zelda stares at Feferi for a moment like she's speaking in tongues before remembering Summoner's reaction to finding out that Zelda herself was a princess. Perhaps that's just how it was for trolls...]

You are a member of the nobility yourself, are you not? You can make strides to change that.

[ Nodding, a hint of her smile comes back, just a bit at a time. ]

I'm the future Empress! Someday when I'm older, I'll fight the current Empress to the death, and then I'll Alternia! I have so many plans for how I'm going to change things when I'm Empress.

[Nevermind what Zelda thinks about a fight to the death deciding who the monarch is, she's glad to see that the future ruler of the trolls is kindhearted.]

Good for you. I wouldn't mind compiling some of Hyrule's laws if you would want a look at that. I'm sure not all of them would be suitable for troll society, but they have at least been tested.

That would be wonderful! It would at least be a start, if nothing else!

[Zelda's always happy to share things about Hyrule! There isn't a law book actually here in Vatheon, but thankfully she memorized most of them in her schooling as a child.]

Yes, please! I think I have a good enough idea of human anatomy, at least more than I did before.
