Am I dreaming...?
Ω Who: Vincent and you. (The more persistent, the better.)
Ω When: Midday, Monday
Ω Where: Town Central
Ω Style: Whatever you want~ I do use brackets though.
Ω Status: Open
[Where...am I?
Heading swimming, Vincent puts a clawed hand to his face as flashes of memory hit him in small bursts. Shelke smiling at him -- Omega rising up from Midgar -- Flying in front of the moon, prepared to take the dive.]
Ugh..
[Opening his eyes, the light hits them and makes him squint. I was about to fight Omega...is it all over? Had he failed? No...that couldn't be. If he had failed, then he wouldn't still be alive. Would he? Cerberus was still in his hand and that was reassuring. The hard metal was an anchor to remind him that this was real. If there was a way to find out what happened, he would find it.
Getting up was somewhat painful, but not over much. His muscles felt strained, as though he'd been running for a long time. And ...Great. Tilting Cerberus' barrel down, he watched as water slowly trickled out. He was soaked, along with his equipment. If this was left unattended, Cerberus would rust. He'd need to clean it as soon as he found a safe place to rest.
This wasn't Edge. A quick look around could tell him so. It wasn't Kalm or Junon either. All around him people passed by, calm and unhurried. The buildings were tidy and made of a white material that he wasn't familiar with. Overhead, the sky was a deep blue. A blue that rippled around the sun, far off in the distance. It's water...I'm underwater. How did I get here?]
Excuse me, sir?
Hmm?
[ Blinking, he looks down at the short, elderly man speaking to him.]
I thought perhaps you'd need this. It's always a bit difficult, getting moved to a new place and all.
[ In a small, wrinkled hand the man produced a pamphlet of some kind.
As Vincent took it, the man walked away without another word. Unfolding the pages, puzzled, he frowned down into it's contents. Welcome to Vatheon. Huh. Guess I'll have to take a look around. The question was...where to start?]

You called for persistant?
Fai had been working at preparing the fountain for the arrivals but certain events had caused him to pause in his efforts. Some new arrivals were not as pleasant as one would hope and he had found himself going through some rather difficult introductions. With all of that, he had found he needed the energy that the coral could provide and some of the comfort that the familiar item allowed him. So he had headed back, even though the memories of what had occurred earlier in the week were very fresh in his mind.
But Fai was one to hide his feelings behind a smile and to greet everyone with the same enthusiasm that the vampire was known for. So he walked up and offered a towel to the newcomer.]
Hello~ I think you'll need this more then you'll need that pamphlet.
no subject
Of course, seeing the newcomer stops her in her tracks. It would be hard to mistake that figure for anyone else-- the long black hair, the wicked-looking claw, the red cape albeit not quite as vibrant so soaked with water.
However many other people have friends here from home, somehow Tifa never expected her own to join her. But at the sight of her bedraggled comrade, she brightens and starts towards him.]
Vincent?
no subject
No? Well, even if Vincent wasn't planning on approaching, he's being approached himself. Gale doesn't always go up to newcomers in the plaza, but with the black hair and the cape, Vincent is rather noticable.
Not that Gale himself doesn't stick out among the natives, between the green hair and eyes, the gray armor, and the black twister mark on his calf.]
There are towels at the Welcome Center, if you wish to take care of your equipment.
Ahaha , perfect!
Pushing these thoughts aside, he shakes his head. No. It wouldn't do any good to dwell on things like that just yet. He still had to explore the boundaries of this place and find a place to clean his equipment. Adjusting his hold on Cerberus, he moved to drop it into his holster...just as a blonde man approaches him with a smile and a towel. His posture didn't suggest hostility so, Vincent takes the towel with a nod.]
...Thank you.
[ Using it to wipe the stinging sea water from his face, he takes the moment to organize his thoughts enough for conversation.]
This is a strange place you've got here.
no subject
Tifa.
[If Tifa was here, did that mean they had defeated Omega? Or had she simply been pulled away like he had? Unanswered questions burned at the back of his mind as he shifted his hold on Cerberus, dropping it into his holster with a quick flipping motion.]
Are the others here too?
no subject
It is isn't it? Though I can't claim it as mine. I'm only visiting it, just like you. But I guess I'm one of the more long term visitors. But still not as long as some.
[Fai found it interesting and amusing, sometimes difficult and it had its moments when it wasn't fun, but for the most part he enjoyed it here. In a way, it really was strange but no worse then some of the other worlds he had been on.]
no subject
Pale skinned and thin of build, he was dressed in a uniform that suggested a pilot's position or some sort of long range fighter. He holds himself at ease. Hmm. Must be confident. Nodding his head to Gale, he pockets the pamphlet and holsters Cerberus in one quick motion.]
Which direction would that be?
[ It wasn't the politest of responces, but Vincent wasn't known for his politeness. Besides, he was wet, achey and confused.]
no subject
This way.
[And Gale gestures, but he'll start to lead the way there. He doesn't mind the lack of politeness. He isn't always the most polite either, and sometimes what can be mistaken as not being polite is simply being spare with words.]
The color you wear. Does it hold any meaning?
no subject
She steps close enough to give him a quick hug, but pulls back before it can turn too awkward. Or soak her too much.]
It's good to see you.
[She tucks her hair behind one ear and looks him over. He seems well enough, tired maybe...]
It's just you and me here. [And Zack.] And... time works a little strangely here. I'm not sure when you last saw me, but I've been here a few months.
no subject
This must happen often, then.
[From what he'd had time to glean, the deity of this city "Vatheon" needed continuous power. Power which it drained from the people it brought here. If that was the case, then surely people died from this -- along with growing old and getting sick.
Wiping down his claw now, he regards Fai with an observant sweep of his eyes. This man...there's something strange about him. Something more than...a missing eye. His weight shifting to his right foot, he tilts his head slightly to the side.]
So you must know your way around here.
[And you must know a lot of the people here. Taking another good look at his surroundings, he frowns in thought. Some of the townsfolk wore an outfit made of the same material, in the same fashion. Those must be the natives. The rest.... Did anyone else make it off of his world? It would be a cruel joke for him to be the only one.]
no subject
[If she had been here for that long, then time must be off considerably from their world.
In fact as Tifa had drawn forward for the hug, Vincent had noticed how long her hair had gotten. It gave him pause and caused the hug to be stiffer -- if possible -- than would be usual. Not that he was generally the most willing participant for hugs.
If memory served him correctly, Tifa had not hugged him many times in the past. If she had truly been here a few months -- She's probably just relieved to see someone she knows.
Amongst all of this, he had also caught her assessment of him which caused a small smile to enter his eyes. Tifa was the mothering type. He imagined a lecture about how much sleep he was getting would appear sooner or later.
Glancing over her for his own reasons -- that were not too far off the mark from Tifa's -- his general scowl resettled back into his face. Physically she was healthy and she walked and talked exactly as Vincent would expect. Her clothes however...]
I saw you today. But you weren't wearing your old clothes like that.
[He paused, before adding with a motion at her person]
The black one. Omega had awakened and you were in the ground assault with Cloud.
no subject
She glances down at herself at his gesture and then looks back at him in confusion. "Old clothes"? Omega?
Don't tell her... he's from the future, too, isn't he? She shakes her head.]
Um.... Yeah. That's the other thing about time working funny.
The last thing I remember back home was when you all came to rescue Barret and me from Junon. ...after Meteor was summoned.
I'm guessing that was a while ago for you.
no subject
Knowing that he had yet to answer his guide's question, he considers the answer.]
I suppose you could say...it's a memento of my past.
[ And that was a close of an answer as he was willing to give. His father had given him this cloak. Made it for him before he had died. He had never had a reason to wear it until, stumbling upstairs from the basement of the ShinRa Mansion -- disoriented and ill -- he had spotted it amongst his things. Red. The color of blood. It matched well the bandana that had been his father's and the feelings of guilt that had roiled in the deepest parts of him.]
no subject
[Fai's pretty good about hiding his vampire side but he can feel the scrutiny of the other man. He knows he's trying to figure out just what is different about him but he isn't going to just offer the information.]
I know my way around pretty well. If you would like a grand tour then I'm more then happy to help~
no subject
[After a moment of consideration, he elaborates.]
Colors were strongly associated in my original world. It is unusual for foreigners to wear so much of only one color. I wondered if it were something similar.
Sorry for the late reply! I was sick >_<
[If that was possible, if there was a way to leave this place...he had to find it -- along with anyone who belonged to his world. If there is still a world to go back to. There was no way of knowing for now. He would just have to wait and gather information. Not to mention find a place to sleep that wasn't in the open. Maybe there's an inn.
Vincent's eyes had slid away from Fai in thought for a few seconds. Returning to him now, they study the blonde hair and smiling face a moment more before he nods.]
Just the main attractions. I can take it from there.
[It'll be easier going alone most of the way, once I have the basic layout.
Besides, this blonde man is more than he seems, Vincent can feel it. Maybe a powerful magic caster or skilled assassin...since he's definitely not built for combat.]
No worries! Hope you are feeling better
[Fai is going to try and seem as innocent as possible, but if Vincent tries anything he'll have to drop some of the charade.]
Let's go then~ I can show you were you can get most of your stuff to live comfortably and then show you were many of the places to live are.
