Monthly Mingle Log

Another month has passed and it is time for another oppertunity to mingle. Knowing of the curse that haunts the foreigners, Station Master has taken extra care to plan this party and the preparations only during the daylight hours. Wouldn't want to cause a giant panic, right?

Today, the little tucked away part of the plaza has been livened up with a host of spooky decorations, black cats and witches, skeletons and tomb stones, they have all been placed amongst the food tables, allowing for a casual halloween-ish mood. There are also a lot of pumpkins there, freshly prepared especially for this feast.

The tables of food are back too, filled to the brim with pumpkin pies, pumpkin squash, pumpkin cups cakes, honestly, you can put a pumpkin in and it is there. There are also large bowls of candy, free for the taking.

Naturally the two booths are there again, the one belonging to the welcoming committee, for any new (or old) character with a burning question, and the one belonging to the host club. Who knows what theme they have this week. Only way to find out is to check it out!

Finally, part of the plaza has been set up to allow for the talent contest that was to be held here, organized by a few of the foreigners themselves. Maybe it is time to check it out and see if there are any cool talents on display? Or maybe you have your own talent to display. If so, feel free to visit the show.

As every month, an invitation had gone out to all the foreigners in the day leading up to the party, reminding them of the party, the date, the times, and this time, attached had been an invitation to come dressed up. They might not be able to celebrate Halloween during the evening hours, but maybe a slightly late Halloween party would lift the spirits anyway? Station Master has certainly joined in himself too. For a day, he has exchanged his trusty cap for the scariest thing he could possible think of: a familiar white nurse's cap. 2spooky.

[It's fun to match on Halloween, no matter what anyone else says.]

[Equius considers trying to add a fork, but a.) he'd probably break it, and b.) he's not sure Gamzee would use it anyway. He's got the Pie Stare going on, meaning all pies are possible victims.]

[Matching halloween couples get extra make-outs right? That is how human halloween weeks.]

[He raises his hands for it, nearly knocking over half the stuff on the food table. He really should be kept away from here all dressed up like this. It is a recipe for disaster.]

[That's how all holidays work, Equius is pretty sure.]

[He hands off the pie, lightly brushing his hands against Gamzee's wings to try and hold them down.]

[Holidays are the best, they should make every day into a holiday.

Gamzee takes over the pie, nearly smacking Equius, and he gives his wings a bit of an annoyed look.]

Motherfuckers keep getting in the fuckin' way. You okay?

Yeah, I'm fine.

[Equius looks the wings over critically, his analytical mind working away.]

Do you want me to try and bend those so you stop hitting things with them?

You could do that?

[Cause it would be great to stop smacking things with them.]

Sure. Hold still.

[Carefully, Equius takes the tips of Gamzee's wings in his hands. If he just bends down the top bits so they're closer to his arms, Gamzee will probably stop hitting everyone. He starts putting pressure on them, trying to make them fold under.]

[Gamzee watches the process unfurl on one wing, watching the careful way Equius bends it back and out of the way, before his smile brightens. Yes, this is clearly working! And then Equius starts to work on the other wing, he pushes back into it, helping him put more pressure on it so the job will be over that much quicker.]

[Gamzee, what are you doing? Equius has got this, you don't need to help!]

[The wing is almost done, though, so Equius decides to just push through and finish it. He gives the wing one last shove...]

[Gamzee gives a good push back to have it all fit properly. Maybe it is that push that does it. Or the fact that he isn't all to steady footing (so common in clowns) that has him first teetering forwards into Equius' so careful grip, before he loses all balance and falls backwards with a sickening, tearing sort of snap.

And then shit really really hurt.]

[This is Equius.]

GAMZEE!

[This is Equius freaking the fuck out.]

[He drops to his knees beside his fallen matesprit, his eyes wide with horror. Most people would instinctively reach out with both hands in this situation, but Equius holds his tight at his sides, since they were the cause of all this awfulness.]

Gamzee, what happened?!

Owww, fuck.

[That is immediate, because holy fuck this hurts. He doesn't know what he did but his arm is sore as balls, and hanging down at a really awkward angle, and holy fuck it hurts. His other arm immediately shoots in to support his right arm and that takes a little bit of the hurt off. Not much, but a little bit.

When he notices Equius' concern though, he tries for a smile.]

Arm hurts. Hey, no worries, aight? I'm sure it's just fine, just a little motherfuckin' aching.

Oh god, oh god...

[This is like all his walking terrors from this week come to life, and Equius glances down at his shirt, expecting to see bloodstains spreading there. Of course, there's no blood, and he looks back to Gamzee, his expression frantic.]

Can you move it at all?

[As scared as he is, there's a part of his mind that is still ticking off possibilities about what just happened.]

[Gamzee tries to move his arm, wriggle his fingers and such, but all he gets is another burst of pain and not much movement at all.]

No.

Shit.

[If there were ever a time for profanity, it is now.]

It's... I... godDAMMIT!

[Darkleer. They need Darkleer. He can get Gamzee's arm back in the socket! Equius sets up the loudest psychic scream he's ever done, trying to get RoboEquius to come to him as fast as he can.]

I'm sorry, I'm so sorry!

Hey, calm down, aight?

[He lets go of his arm for a moment, with a faint wince, before reaching up to touch Equius' face.]

Was just an accident, nothing fuckin' more than that.

[It is a good thing trolls got high pain tolerances cause this certainly smarts like fuck.]

Hey, I'll just all like go and fuckin' get to the coral and shit will be sorted.

[What do you mean the coral can't fix dislocatd arms like that.]

I hurt you.

[As far as he's concerned, that's all the explanation he needs to make. He hurt his matesprit, just like his fears given form said he would.]

Darkleer. I'm taking you to Darkleer. He'll know what to do.

[And Darkleer can control himself well enough to do it. Equius knows what needs to be done, but with how nervous and cranked up he is right now, he's afraid he'd end up ripping Gamzee's arm out of the socket.]

Hey, stop freakin', aight? We can jam about this shit later.

[You know, when he isn't in a whole lot of pain that is starting to making him short.]

Lets just get to Darkleer.

Darkleer, yeah. We'll go find Darkleer.

[Fortunately, it's right about then that RoboEquius shows up, and Equius is sure the robot gives him a disgusted look before crouching next to Gamzee and putting one hand comfortingly on his back. For a second, he burns with a fierce, bitter jealousy at his robotic counterpart; it's not fair, he can touch Gamzee!]

He can pick you up.

[Because let's face it, the robot will be faster and probably less painful than Gamzee trying to walk home himself.]

[Gamzee lets the robot lift him, cursing when it jostles his arm, supporting it closely to himself. He's pretty sure he can walk himself too, but hey, what does he know?]

[As soon as RoboEquius has him gathered up, the robot takes off at a smooth, non-jostling full run, Equius tagging close at his heels. It's not long at all before they're back at the hive, and Equius flings the door open, splintering it right off its hinges--another failure for today, he's such a winner--and yells up the stairs.]

DADLEER!

[It's alright, Equius- another door is breaking slightly upstairs, but Darkleer hardly pays it any mind. So wrapped up in his own fears, he hadn't even thought of the boys except to keep them safe away from himself.]

[So he makes his way to the front door as quick as he can, looking frazzled.]

Equius! What's wrong?

[soon they won't have any doors left.

Though of course, if they don't have any doors, Gamzee can't walk into them anymore. Advantage!

He smiles a little, trying to lighten the whole thing.]

My arm feelin' a lil' fuckin' funky is what's the haps here.

[Gamzee, that is not a solution to the door problem and you know it!]

Gamzee's shoulder is dislocated.

[He's not even going to bother saying the obvious about how it happened; he's pretty sure the stricken look on his face is clue enough.]

[A dislocated shoulder...? Darkleer's shoulders slump in relief. Just a dislocated shoulder. That's it.]

Thank goodness, I thought it was something worse. [Don't ask what he was imagining.] Gamzee, come, come and sit down on the couch and I'll take a look...

[Running a hand through his hair to straighten it out, he uses the other to fetch a band from his belt. It'll be easier to do his work if his hair out of his face... and he wants to at least look like he's in control.]
