vatheon | Selphie on the Sand

Selphie had been back in Vatheon a little while now, and the place felt like home again, if a little different. Memories were beginning to come back to her - that is, they were triggered by things she saw or ate, or smelled. But that was weird, and she felt like her friends had moved on without her while she was gone. On top of that, one of her best friends had been tortured and injured, and Selphie hadn't been able to stop it, or to help her, or to do anything. In short, Selphie was in Vatheon feeling at a lose end; lost, and a little bit useless.

She'd decided to take a trip to the island, give herself time to walk things through in her head. She hadn't expected the rain though, and she glanced up with a bit of a sigh, holding out a hand as though testing that the rain was actually there, and actually making her wet. It was. But Selphie continued to wander along the sand anyway, stopping every so often to pick up a pebble, sand dollar, or something, and either skim it across the water, or just plain chuck it in, watching the ripples.

Selphie smiled and swiped wet strands of hair out of her eyes, "It's kinda getting cold now! Maybe we should go back down!"

It really was. "Si, si," he nodded. "We could go get some pasta~~"

"Mmm! Pasta! Hot pasta!" It sounded better than being cold and soaked, so Selphie made her way back towards the elevator.

"Si, si!" Italy nodded. He liked his pasta hot and fresh. "Ve, how about meatballs? I made some this morning~"

Selphie laughed at that, and she couldn't possibly refuse, "That sounds so delicious! I'd love to try them - I forgot about you being so talented, Italy!"

Italy shrugged. "I love to cook." And with that, he grabbed her hand and began to pull her towards the elevator door. He could already taste the pasta.

"Oh!" Selphie hadn't expected that he'd grab her hand and move along like that, but she was happy to go with him, marching quickly behind.

He took her to the elevator but the problem was waiting. Italy was a very patient country. He could wait, but boy did he want some good pasta. he rocked back and forth on his feet.

Selphie nudged Italy's elbow with her own, "Hungry, huh?" She giggled and nodded towards the elevator, running in when the doors opened.

"Si, si," Italy nodded. "I'm always hungry for pasta." He practically lived on the stuff. In fact, he couldn't live without it.

Selphie laughed and skipped out of the elevator as it ended up back down at the bubble. "Okay! So lead the way!"

Okay~ This way! [ he leads her to the RED base nestled on the outskirts. ]

Selphie follows after him, and follows, and keeps following, "Italy, where do you live?"

"Ve, it's a base," he replied. "I used to live with some mercenaries and they built it. It's really big and cool~"

"Mercenaries? That's cool!" She wondered for a second if Italy was the kind of guy to hang out with mercenaries, and then she realised that she was technically one herself, and giggled.

Italy nodded. "They were really great and smart~!" Even Heavy, the rather scary Russian guy. He usually just clung to Medic's arm. "I miss them."

Selphie thought about this and looked down at her feet, "Well...you never know. Maybe they'll come back again."

"I keep the place clean and well-stocked just in case they come back," Italy nodded. Or if any of the other countries showed up, they'd have a place to live too. "It's also good for having friends over~~"

Selphie paused just before they reached the place and she placed a hand firmly on Italy's forearm. She looked at him directly, her expression softened, "Aren't you lonely...out here?"

"I have Leo with me~" he replied. Truthfully, he was a bit lonely, but the cat had kept him company.

Selphie bit her lip at that - she wouldn't press it any further. Instead, she just smiled and nodded, "Well - that's good..."

"Si, si!" he grinned. He did try to make the best of things.

"But ya know... If you ever get bored, you can always call me or whatever."

"You can come over anytime~ I love company~~"

"Then maybe I will! And you could come over my place since...I live just me. Maybe I should get a cat too!"
