Selphie on the Sand

Who: Selphie and anybody else ever in Vatheon ever.
Where: On the island beach, in the rain

Selphie had been back in Vatheon a little while now, and the place felt like home again, if a little different. Memories were beginning to come back to her - that is, they were triggered by things she saw or ate, or smelled. But that was weird, and she felt like her friends had moved on without her while she was gone. On top of that, one of her best friends had been tortured and injured, and Selphie hadn't been able to stop it, or to help her, or to do anything. In short, Selphie was in Vatheon feeling at a lose end; lost, and a little bit useless.

She'd decided to take a trip to the island, give herself time to walk things through in her head. She hadn't expected the rain though, and she glanced up with a bit of a sigh, holding out a hand as though testing that the rain was actually there, and actually making her wet. It was. But Selphie continued to wander along the sand anyway, stopping every so often to pick up a pebble, sand dollar, or something, and either skim it across the water, or just plain chuck it in, watching the ripples.

"I always like to be amongst water. It runs in my veins." He smiled and looked up at the grey clouds. "Back at home, my old Gym in Sootpolis City was filled with water."

"Filled with water?" Selphie turned to Wallace then, swiping her wet fringe out of her eyes. "Like, did you have to swim all the time in there?"

[champ_coordinator]

"Yes. I am a Water-type trainer so my Gym is a water Gym. Or was when I used to be the leader there. My mentor, Juan, taught me everything I needed to know."

"Oh..." Selphie tried to imagine that, and she smiled, because it did sound pretty cool after all.

"Do you miss your gym?"

[champ_coordinator]

"I do sometimes but I enjoy being at the Champion's League now. I enjoy battling trainers who wish to become Champion." He smiled.

[booyaka_boom]

Selphie tilted her head at Wallace, glancing him over while she thought about this, "Do you think, if I was in your world, that I could be a trainer too?" After all, it did sound like fun.

[champ_coordinator]

"Of course if you wanted to train and look after your Pokemon. Anyone can become a trainer if they put their heart into it." He smiled as he picked up another pebble.

[booyaka_boom]

Selphie began to bounce up and down on the balls of her feet, suddenly looking very excited, "Really, I could? With real Pokemon of my own, and everything? That would be so cool! Do you think I would have water ones? What other kinds are there?"

[champ_coordinator]

"Of course. But first you have to catch them first. I can help with that." He smiled. "If you want water ones you'll have to go to the sea or a lake. Something like that."

[booyaka_boom]

Selphie turned then to look out at the lake - not that she would find any there, of course, but she liked to think about it, "Wow... Who knows, maybe one day I'll get to go to your world and you can help me!"

[champ_coordinator]

"Perhaps. I'd love to help you catch some Pokemon of your own and help you develop their skills." He nodded and skipped another stone across the water.

[booyaka_boom]

"Really? That sounds like good fun!" Selphie watched the pebble he skimmed, "Shame there aren't any round here..."

[champ_coordinator]

"True. It would be more fun if there were Pokemon around here." Wallace smiled at the prospect.

[booyaka_boom]

Selphie nodded and skimmed one more pebble across the water, before dusting the sand from her hands, rubbing them together. "I'm getting pretty wet out here... I think maybe I should go back down."

"Wet? Not one for getting wet, hm?" He teased then skimmed a smooth pebble across the water.

Selphie smiled, looking amused, "I don't mind, but I am getting pretty cold." She watched the pebble and wrapped her arms around herself.

[champ_coordinator]

"That's alright. Perhaps we should go inside as I can feel the wind picking up."

[booyaka_boom]

"That's a good idea!" Again, Selphie swiped her soggy hair from her face and moved towards the elevator.

[champ_coordinator]

"Indeed, it is." He nodded and walked with her towards the elevator. "How about a hot drink too?"

[booyaka_boom]

Selphie smiled at Wallace and nodded, "That would be nice."

[champ_coordinator]

"Indeed it sounds tempting. What sort of hot drink do you prefer?"

[booyaka_boom]

"Hmm...I like hot chocolate the best! What about you, Wallace?"

[champ_coordinator]

"That sounds wondeful. I'll have the same, thank you." He gave her a warm smile.
