It's not exactly unusual to see Roxas in the vicinity of the ice cream shop. He's probably one of its top customers, aside from the not-having-to-pay part.

What is a little unusual is that he's eating... strawberry ice cream. It's gotten to the point where he doesn't have to say what flavor he wants, but this time the lady at the counter gave him something different, remarking she heard it was his favorite. He's overheard a few similarly strange things from the natives, but mostly harmless stuff about people he doesn't know and he dismissed most of it.

Anyway, there's nothing wrong with trying new things, right? Actually, strawberry's not bad.

((Another rumor going around which Roxas hasn't heard is that he likes kissing folk. Vanitas sure got all the important parts out of that diary. So be forewarned your character may be subjected to kissing... on the cheek.))

Axel puffs his cheeks and then lowers his arm. "Clearly you need to get your eyes checked, then." With that he stands up from the bench and places his hands on his hips. There's muscles there, too, by the way. Ok, maybe not muscle, but they're well cared for and curvy, so.

There's no denying that, but you didn't ask him about your shapely hips.

"My eyesight's fine. Maybe you need glasses." Roxas looks up at Axel from his seat, honestly not too sure why he's standing. Or why he left his ice cream on the bench-- look, it's melting everywhere.

He might be self-conscious about his shapely hips.

"You know, I bet I'd look pretty cool with glasses. But only for cosmetic purposes." He's got 20/20 vision, that's what he's getting at. At any rate, he gets restless sitting in place for a long time, so he's gotta stretch his legs a bit. Hands intertwined behind his head he sighs.

"I might not get to fight much while I'm here, but that doesn't mean I'm out of shape, dude."

Don't be, man, they look good on you.

Roxas was pretty sure 'cosmetic' meant 'make-up,' so he looks a little confused for a moment before he just drops it. Well, he's not sure Axel would look any better with glasses, but they probably wouldn't look bad.

"You know I'm kidding."

[flared]

Yeah. Axel wears makeup to go with his hips. Totally.

"Yeah, 'course I do." Afterward he laughs and then looks back over to Roxas with a wide grin on his face. "This is how we function day by day, Roxas. Poke fun at each other and never take it seriously, right?"

He knew that was Maybelline eyeliner.

"You looked like you were starting to take it seriously." Nope, still kidding. Roxas is grinning, too.

Or maybe he was really born with it.

"I'm just a really good actor," he says with utmost confidence. Really, he knows this and so should you!

Shh, Roxas can be sort of gullible.

"That doesn't mean you're acting all the time." It's okay, Axel. Roxas doesn't think you're out of shape.

But he likes that about you.

"Are you sure about that?" At least Roxas seems to trust him enough to say that. At least Axel hopes that's the case. He's broken Roxas' trust on more than one occasion, after all, so he doesn't want to mess up this time. He laughs and places a hand on Roxas' head, surprisingly not to ruffle his hair this time. It's just resting there comfortably.

"Yeah, I'm sure." Roxas raises a hand to brush Axel's away, expecting him to go for the hair-ruffle, but then he doesn't. Roxas hesitates and then just drops his hand again.

"I mean, you wouldn't wanna be around someone so much if you had to fake it all the time."

[flared]

"Mm, yeah. I guess that'd be tiring." Even if Axel's been nothing but himself towards Roxas, he still needs to work on hiding things from him and lying to him. All of that got him in a bad place before, and he'd like to avoid that now. But that behavior isn't fake–it's very much him–so this might be difficult to change. For Roxas, though, Axel will do anything an everything.

"You about done there, short stuff? I'm thinking of headin' home. Late for my midday nap, y'know."

"I'm done. You're the one who- abandoned your ice cream." Roxas glances at the cone Axel left on the bench. It's gotten pretty melty by now.

"Are you really planning on taking a nap?"

[flared]

"If I ate anymore, I'd probably get cavities." He could have tossed it in a garbage can or something, but, no, he'll just leave it there. Maybe the birds can chomp away at what's left if they want.

"Well, yeah. If it's all the same to you, I'd rather stay as far away from the rest of the dome while this curse is going on. Never know what stupid thing you might find yourself caught up in next."

"What're cavities?" Roxas gets to his feet, making no move to throw that cone out for him. Good job, Axel, now you're teaching him about littering.

"...I guess that's not a bad idea." He doesn't know about napping, but if whatever this curse is might make him kiss more people... He pinks a little. Definitely not a bad idea to stay home.

[flared]

"It's basically when your teeth rot and stuff from eating too much sweet food. Not pleasant." Axel stretches his arms a little before letting out a small yawn. Yeah, definitely late for his nap.

"Oh, you wanna stay home, too?" Not a bad idea considering the whole kissing thing, too. Of course that leaves Axel more prone to receiving those kisses, but it'll be better than Roxas getting in trouble for kissing random people, yeah? "Yeah, that might be smart."

"Oh." ...well, sea-salt must be safe enough because Axel will eat all of that.

Roxas nods, although he realizes belatedly that this means they'll be home together. While he's under a curse that makes him kiss people. Still, better Axel than other people, right? "Y-yeah, smart."

[flared]

And he at least brushes his teeth!

Axel turns towards the direction of their apartment shortly after, but, deciding that he'd prefer avoiding passing out on the walk over there, he opens up a Portal instead just in front of them. "In we go."

Roxas brushes his teeth! It's just, no one really explained to him why he should. They just get icky if he doesn't.

He was prepared for a walk, but on second thought, portalling home is probably the smarter thing to do, too. They won't pass anybody he might kiss this way. Roxas steps on through, sticking his hands in his pockets.

Does he need to get you one of those toddler books that explain proper hygiene, Roxas? Because he sure as hell can't do it; he might bust a rib with laughter.

Axel follows as soon as Roxas disappears and once inside it doesn't take long to travel on through and end up at the other side right in their home.

He showers, too, okay. Shut up.

Roxas looks up at Axel once they're both through to their apartment. "So you're just going to sleep?"

[flared]

And that's all that matters, Roxas.

Once he's shut the Portal behind him, Axel immediately turns towards his bedroom and starts to head on over. "Yuuup. Maybe you should, too. Keep yourself out of trouble." And don't go kissing him while he's sleeping, obviously, though there's no way Axel can really prevent that.

"I should be okay if I'm on my own." He'll just go hang out in his room for a while.

And no, he's not going to kiss you in your sleep, Axel. Although it's probably good you started walking away before the phrase 'goodnight kiss' popped into his head.

"Well, if you need anything, then you know where to find me, champ." Which is why he'll leave his door open. Yes, he's even going to risk potential kisses just to make sure you're going to be ok. So off he goes into his room with another stretch and the next sound Roxas will hear is Axel flopping down like a sack of bricks on his bed.

Yes. Nap time is good time. And it's actually a little more comfortable when he's not wearing anything under his coat.

"Right."

At first Roxas doesn't even notice him leaving the door open, because he's already turned to head into his own room. He only sees a while later when he gets up for something and passes by and oh... He stops for a second in the doorway. He's seen Axel asleep before, of course, but he's never watched him sleep. Maybe it's some part of the curse that leads him to do so for a little while. Maybe.

...is it really comfortable to be sleeping in your coat like that? Axel is such a weirdo.

I watch youuuuuu, fast asleeeeeeep.

Axel's been asleep for nearly an hour now, curled up and surprisingly quiet without a blanket to cover him up. Yeah, as long as he has a pillow or something remotely comfortable for him to rest his head on, then Axel can sleep well enough. Heck, he could have passed out on that bench if he really wanted to. So for the most part watching Axel will be fairly uneventful before he ends up turning over... and nearly tumbling out of bed. Oops.
