Hmmm.

[Labrys is seated on a bench in the center of town, looking a bit zoned out for a moment as she finishes up some internal maintenance. She wants to make sure the curse didn't leave any nasty surprises for her.]

Global Positioning System is out of date. Scanning for update... No updates found.

[That's the only thing that seems to be off, but it was like that when she arrived. So everything is fine. She returns to the conscious world and looks around while going through her memories. Despite being out of body, she is able to save her memories of being human to the system.]

Heh, what I'd give to have some of that ice cream again. Or strawberry shortcake. Playing in the water was fun too.

[She raises her metal hands in front of her and wriggles her fingers, then rests them against her lap. There were a lot of things that humans couldn't do, but there were also a lot of amazing things that they were capable of that she'd love to do again.]

Well, I guess it ain't meant to be. But it was fun while it lasted.

[ yu hadn't really expected to run into anyone he knew as he went for a walk today, but when he spots a particular android...

he smiles and walks over to where she's seated. ]

This seat taken? [ granted, odds are he'll take a seat even if it is. ]

[Labrys picks her head up and looks attentive at the sound of Yu's voice, sliding over a bit.]

Of course not. Whatcha up to?

[ he sits down then, letting out a loud sigh of relief as he does. he's not as young as he used to be...

...okay he's still pretty young. ]

Not much. Just looking around. Still trying to get used to this place. What about you?

This place ain't Inaba, that's for sure.

[She's never been in one place for too long, aside from the lab. And she has little attachment to it at all. But she can somewhat understand his predicament.]

I heard about that last one that was going around... Switching bodies, right?

[ well, how could he not. it was pretty pervasive. he'd more or less tried to lay low during it though in order to not get caught up himself... ]

Yeah! Heh, maybe it was a good thing you didn't see who I was runnin' around as.

[If she could, she would blush. What is this feeling?]

It might be fun, for a little while. [ he's not sure who though... ] But I'm okay with who I am.

His name's Shinjiro. And wouldn't ya know it, a friend of his knows my handler real well!

[Yosuke, er, Yukari filled her in on a lot of things.]

Oh, so you were a guy.

[ cool. ]

How was that?

Well, now that I've actually been one...you guys are a lot more fragile than I thought. If something's wrong with my body, my operatin' system says so. But for you guys, you get these strange feelings. Pain, hunger...sometimes you can't tell what's wrong.

That must have been strange, huh? But you get used to it after a while. [ hmmm. ] Our operating systems are just different, that's all.

[Yu makes her feel normal, despite being entirely different. The human body really is like an operating system, it just works differently.]

Yeah. You sure have to do a lot of maintenance, but it's worth it.

It gets pretty troublesome sometimes, but we have to work with it anyway.

[ "maintenance"... yeah, that's a fitting way to put it. ]

[Well, that's an interesting list of things to overhear, and never let it be said that Dirk won't follow the course of his curiosity. Besides, this person looks vaguely familiar.]

[Labrys fidgets a little, but she's happy that he thought of her as human from the start.]
