The Lake is for Training

Everything. Wow, getting used to Vatheon the second time round was a big thump to the head. First, she had forgotten everyone, and second, there had been that stupid curse, and then the excitement of the ball, and now Squall was gone. That's a lot to take in. Fortunately, she was beginning to remember names and faces, though memories weren't so clear. At least she knew how to get around Vatheon.

So there she was, by the lake. This time, not with cookies, but with nunchaku. She's feeling a little rusty, way more rusty than she should be, given that she's a mercenary extraordinaire. Regardless, she's swinging complex moves at the grass, at trees, at the water. And she's not entirely quiet at that, occassionally shouting out things like, 'Take that!' or 'Up yours!' or 'I'm gonna smash you into smithereens!' just for effect.

He couldn't pass up the oppertunity to say hello to her. Besides, he liked being by the Lake too.

"Hello, Selphie. How are you, this afternoon?"

Selphie was in the middle of twirling the chains of her nunchaku and she paused, smiling to when she saw Wallace, 'Oh, hey!' She made a point of folding her weapon safely. 'I'm good! How are you?'

[champ_coordinator]

"I am fine, thank you. I must ask though....what is that weapon in your hand?" His eyes went to the nunchaku she was carrying before he turned up.

[booyaka_boom]

She held it out to him, holding one handle of the weapon and letting the chain dangle down in front of her. "My nunchaku! My speciality! You wanna have a shot?"

[champ_coordinator]

"I am not sure how you use it. Perhaps a demonstration first?" He looked at her hopefully.

[booyaka_boom]

"Alright! I'll show you first, and then you can have a try, how bout that?" She smiled brightly and then got swiftly into her battle stance. Then she spent the next few minutes trying her best to show off her skills, some quite complex. Then she paused to see what reaction he might have.

"Alright. That sounds reasonable." He gave her some applause as he watched her perform. She was very good. "You have some skill with your weapon, Selphie."

[booyaka_boom]

Aww, Selphie, always so responsive to praise. She laughs and gives another twirl with her weapon. "Actually, I'm the best!"

[champ_coordinator]

"I am sure you are. Be careful where you swing that thing though." He smirked.

[booyaka_boom]

"Don't worry! I'm totally under control!" She giggled and bounced over to him, holding out the handles of her weapon. “Wanna try?“

[champ_coordinator]

"If you say so." He laughed softly. What was she like using them? Deadly? He didn't want to be on the wrong end, that was for sure. "Alright."

She shuffled closer, almost careful that she didn‘t touch his hands as she passed them over to him. Out of embarrassment perhaps. “Go on, give it a whirl!“

"Alright." He took them off of her and gave them a spin. He twirled them around and tried not to hit anyone.

Selphie laughed as she watched him; he wasn't exactly terrible, but she'd moved well out of the way, just in case something bad happened, or if he let go.

Wallace wasn't bad but then, he wasn't exactly an expert. He'd never used the weapon before. "How did I do?"

[booyaka_boom]

Selphie laughed as she walked closer to him, one hand on her hip, “Maybe need a little more training, but at least you didn‘t let them go!“

[champ_coordinator]

"I have a steady hand, being an artist." He gave her a wink and a twirl.

[booyaka_boom]

Selphie raised an eyebrow as she watched him, still with a hand firmly on her hip, "Right. So...you're a champion...and an artist, and what else do you do that I don't know about?"

[champ_coordinator]

"Perhaps hidden secrets that I have not yet revealed." He teased then gave her a smirk.

[booyaka_boom]

"Oh... Like what?" All the same, she couldn't help but blush a little.

[champ_coordinator]

"You'll have to find out." He touched her nose playfully.

[booyaka_boom]

Gosh, he was making her blush again. This time, she blinked for a moment before reaching forward to take the nunchaku from him, "Oh really?"

[champ_coordinator]

"Yes, I am full of surprises, Selphie." He smirked and passed her weapon back. "A curious but dangerous weapon."

[booyaka_boom]

Selphie tilted her head as she smiled at him, wondering what those surprises might be. She coyld only imagine.. "Right, thanks. It sure is dangerous though, if ya really know how to use it!"

[champ_coordinator]

"I am sure it is. I'll take your word for it." He smiled. "Perhaps I shall watch you perform another time?"

[booyaka_boom]

"Another time? I can do more now, if you like!" Selphie beamed at him, giving her nunchaku a quick twirl - she doesn't figure that it's ever possible that someone could be bored of that.

"If you want to, I've no objection." He smiled and looked curious as to what she would do next.
