[It was maybe a few days later than he promised, but Tatsumi and Tsuzuki are having Grell coming over for dinner. Tatsumi still feels a bit bad about having flirted with him before, and he hasn't seen him as much since Tsuzuki arrived again a few months ago. However, he's willing to do what's on his hands to save their friendship. Fortunately, his partner likes him, so he agreed when he proposed inviting Grell over.

So tonight, he made a special meal for the three of them. As a starter, there was shrimp cocktail, his own special recipe for the sauce. The main course was set up to be delicious italian style lasagna. And for dessert, Asato's favorite, of course: apple pie, baked with very fresh apples.

At the moment, Tatsumi is taking a brief moment to cuddle in the couch with his ~~boyfriend~~, waiting for Grell to arrive. He has promised to himself that he will behave in front of his friend and refrain from being too affectionate while he is there. After all, Tatsumi has never been the cuddly-in-public type. Plus, he doesn't want to hurt Grell's feelings any longer...]

[The smell coming from the kitchen is delicious but even if Asato is dying of hunger, he currently doesn't want to move from the couch. Cuddling with Tatsumi is way better than peeking into cooking pots.]

It smells so good ! You're such a good cook, I'm jealous. [Pouts.]

[Grell, of course, was on her way to where Tatsumi and Tsuzuki were staying. She was still crushed at the fact that they were together, but perhaps it was for the better. But at the same time looking at them reminded her of one of the ones that she wanted. However it seemed she would never have them.

While she would normally walk with a near skip in her step, the English reaper found herself not walking as fast as she normally would. She dressed in an outfit she would normally wear - a nice pair of slacks, a vest, a white button shirt with a red and white bow around the neck and a nice shined pair of black and red heeled boots. She wore a new red jacket that was shorter than her normal one. She didn't want to be gaudy and she knew she couldn't flirt anymore.]

I hope they're happy.

Thank you, Tsuzuki. [Tatsumi smiles at Tsuzuki's praise. He knows the younger man enjoys good food. He gently kisses his forehead before getting up from the couch.]

I should check if it's ready. We don't want it to burn.

Mm... Yes... [He stretches and stands, allowing the other to get up.]

I hope that Grell-san didn't get lost...

[Grell finally made it to the place and took a breath. She should be used to it by now so she had to change herself. She had to put on that famous mask that she was known for. She shook herself out of her feeling out and put on her smile. She knocked on the door.]

Hello! I'm here!

[He hears Grell arriving, but he's a bit busy in the kitchen, taking the lasagna out of the oven and getting everything ready.]

Tsuzuki, it seems our guest is here. Could you get the door, please?

I go !

[Asato happily rushes towards the door and opens it, Cinnamon on his heels.] Grell-san ! I'm so glad to finally meet you !

[She smiles as she sees his face. It was finally good to place a face to a name and voice. Yes, she knew those two were meant to be, especially now that this one was here.]

Mister Tsuzuki, I presume. It is a pleasure to finally be able to see what you look like, darling.

[She gives him a good natured wink.]

You really are quite the looker if I do say so myself. I'm sure you've caught the eye of many a girl or guy, am I right?

[Meanwhile, Tatsumi is getting everything ready in the kitchen. The shrimp cocktail is served, the lasagna cut and the apple pie cooling. Once he is sure everything is perfect, he goes out to the foyer to greet Grell.]

Good evening, Sutcliff-san. Thank you for coming.

Please, call me Asato. [He beams, blushing slightly at the compliment but won't admit it. He still believes that his eyes' colour makes him ugly.]

I... Th-thanks. [And seeing her so close, he is happy to be able to say she's a man. Though...]

But come in, Tatsumi prepared a feast for us !

[Grell smiles, trying not to scare him with her teeth. It would be bad to terrify a fellow reaper.]

Asato then. And it's not anything to worry yourself over, darling. It's good when people fight over a good looking man such as yourself.

[She of course doesn't know about the whole Muraki thing. That will probably be for some other time.

She looks up when she hears Tatsumi's voice. Her heart starts to crack a little, but she does her best to keep face in front of him. She knows he made his choice and it was a good one.]

Good evening, Mr. Tatsumi. It's a pleasure to be here with you both, darling.

[Well, he certainly hopes not to have to fight anyone for Tsuzuki. Especially not Muraki.

He bows when Grell comes in and looks his way.] It's a pleasure to have you over, Sutcliff-san. I hope you will enjoy dinner and our company.

Buh, I am not that pretty... [He is. But he thinks that his eyes make him ugly.] And I don't want people to fight over me.

[If they become good friends, Grell will probably learn sooner or later about Muraki.

He lets her come in and holds his hand out to take her jacket.] Please, make yourself at ease.

Darling, stop lying to yourself. You are a very good looking man if I do say so myself. And your eyes are absolutely stunning. They accentuate everything about you and draw people in.

[She's telling him the truth. She wants to boot his confidence. She can see and feel his hesitancy about his appearance.

She smiles softly as she removes the jacket from her person, revealing that she was in an button-up shirt and a butler-like vest. So sue her - habits die hard. However, off her normal outfit here, she was not wearing the black arm bands.]

Thank you, Asato-darling. And thank you too, Mr. Tatsumi. I do hope to enjoy it.

[He's glad Asato is helping welcome their guest, as his hands are right now covered in food ingredients.]

Why don't you two make your way over to the dining room, while I bring us some tea. Or dinner is pretty much ready, in case Sutcliff-san would like to dine.

Ah... Th-thank you. [He slightly twitches at the mention of his eyes but as Grell probably ignores how touchy the subjec is for him, he won't say anything and just accept the compliment.

So he just smiles back and puts Grell's jacket away before guiding her to the living room.]

Tatsumi makes a delicious green tea !

Ah, he made me some tea once. It was nice... to be able to talk to someone. Someone that could understand at least a little.

[Grell gives a small smile, looking down a little bit. A memory to hold on to...]

[It's not long before Tatsumi comes back with a pot of green tea and three cups. He brings some honey, in case anyone wants to sweeten theirs. He likes tea without anything else.

He serves it and then sits down with Grell and Tsuzuki.]

Oh... I... I understand... [He is a bit uneasy for a moment but then Tatsumi arrives and Asato relaxes, sitting on the couch.

He takes a cup of tea.]

Do you know each other since a long time ?

I nearly lost myself a couple times here love... He was the one who pulled me back.

[She takes her own cup, sipping it slightly.]

We've only known each other since he arrived here. That was a few months ago.

Indeed, Sutcliff-san was one of the first persons who talked to me and guided me around this place. [Along with Fai.]

Oh, I see... I'm glad that Tatsumi made... friends. [And he feels like the intruder again.]

Yes, he did make friends. But it's good that someone he's familiar with and close with is here. [No no no no no! Not intruding! Not intruding! Crap!!!

Grell is trying to send signals other than what is being conveyed. She's obviously failing.]

[Oh no, here we go again, jealous Asato. He sits next to him and gently pets him reassuringly.]

Speaking of people we are familiar with, I heard another of your colleagues just arrived.

[Asato can't help it. He knows how attractive Tatsumi can be. Don't worry Grell, he'll get over it.]

[Just like she'll get over yet another loss in her own book.]

Oh, dear Ronnie. Yes, he's my junior. I try to teach him the ropes. He often takes more from William than myself though.

[He nods.]

He seems to be a nice man. I met him just as he arrived in Vatheon. [He still prefers William, though.]

He's adorable ! [Asato will always prefer Ronald and Grell, they are more like him.]

He is such a sweet darling. He's well behaved too. Follows orders and is so kind. He tries a little too hard sometimes to be like me or Will.

[She keeps her mask up, even though her heart breaks a little at just the mention of the shinigami manager. She glances to the side, trying to find something to focus on so she doesn't have to look toward them.]

I haven't said much around William because he issued a bit of a challenge for him to not deal with me. I'm just waiting to see how long it is before he cracks. Though I do have to say that he must really be enjoying not talking to me.

[Well behaved and hard working. He approves of that. Why can't Tsuzuki be like that at work? Oh well, he still likes him.] I hope to get to know him better.

[He remembers William calling Grell annoying at some point.] I don't see why he should be. You are a nice person, Sutcliff-san.

[Hey ! Asato might be terribly lazy but he always does his best during his investigations. Besides, he is adorable, isn't he ?] We could invite the both of you for dinner, sometimes.

[Wait, what ? What did William do ?] Spears-san is an idiot.

And as for William... Well... Let's just say that Grell has been behaving since she got here. She hasn't even pulled some of her more extreme moods yet. Especially one or two...] I haven't exactly made the right choices either though, Asato-love. In the last year I was actually suspended for a while from my job because of something I did. In fact it was dear William who saved me from being stripped of my immortality and reaping ability completely.

[He sighs and sips his tea as Grell speaks.] Aren't you quite the troublemaker, Sutcliff-ssn? [Though he doesn't mind, as long as he works for someone else.]

But Spear-san is not an idiot, Tsuzuki. As the one in charge, he must be strict sometimes. It's part of the job.

Yes, that's what I meant, Grell-san. We must give him time to get settled.

[Asato listens and nods. Yes, he can understand William's attitude better but it doesn't mean that he approves of it. Everybody makes errors, no ? William should try to get over Grell's.]

Yeah, yeah. You know a lot about that, don't you Tatsumi ?[And he winks at Grell.]

What I did.... at the time I believed I was helping with the lead-up to my actual job. What I was doing was against the shinigami laws... And apparently it becomes one of the most well-known murder cases in Earth history.

[No, she's not... exactly proud of that fact. But she also still remembers all the blood... What it looked like as the life drained from the women. Her eyes are shadowed under her bangs as she sips her tea.]

As I said, I was lucky I was only suspended for a while.

Murder cases? Would you happen to mean Jack the Ripper? [He's just venturing an educated guess, considering the time and place Grell comes from.]

I suppose you had your reasons, but it was still wrong if you went against your laws. [Shakes his head.]

Jack the Ripper ? Wow, that's creepy. [But so interesting too.]

[She nods in acknowledgement of both of their comments. She had told Tatsumi about this a while back.]

I was one half of two. The other having arrived a couple months ago.

She had her reasons, I had mine... They just happened to correspond with each other to a point. I disguised myself, but it wasn't enough to hide from Sebas-chan and the Phantomhive brat.

[Oh? He didn't know this.]

They are here too? I hope you haven't gotten in trouble again...

[He sighs.] Anyway, there is not much work for reapers here...

Oh, you know Sebastian-san and the boy ? Sebastian-san is really nice. [He promised a tea party to Asato.]

And will you tell us who is the other half of Jack ? If the person is here, do we have to be on our guard ?

[He pets Tatsumi's shoulder.] Yes, because people don't really die over here.
