It's battle time!

Who: Wallace and Bianca, Open.

Wallace was keen to put his battling skills into action once more. Now, he was in a new place and new people to meet, he was keen to let his Pokemon stretch their legs once more. Milotec watched as he looked around for any passers by who wanted to take part in a Pokemon battle. Surely, there were some who enjoyed a battle in Vatheon? He had met some trainers and those interested in Pokemon already. A girl named Bianca had caught his interest. She seemed genuinely keen for a battle. Something Wallace liked.

He sighed and let the breeze blow over his face. He smiled at Milotec as she curled around a nearby rock and watched people pass by. The park was a great place for a battle.

It shouldn't come to Bianca's surprise that she was challenged to a pokemon battle by someone. There were plenty of other pokemon trainers here so why wouldn't one challenge her? Besides, she got to meet some new people and some new pokemon too!

However, Wallace didn't need to come so early for Bianca was late like usual. She thought a walk around Vatheon would be nice but...when did the time fly by? Have a Bianca running around the park to look for a pokemon and its trainer. She just hopes that she didn't make him mad for being late.

Wallace noticed Bianca and smiled. He waved over where he and Milotec were sitting. "Bianca! Over here.!" He noticed she was looking rather flustered. Was she always like this?

"Are you ready for our battle?" He looked at her with a beaming smile.

Not always but she's been getting better at being on time.

Anyway, once Bianca walked over to Wallace, she tries her best to look at serious as possible!

"Of course, I wouldn't be here if I wasn't!" She starts digging in her purse for one of her pokeballs. "I'm ready when you are!"

"Alright then. Let's begin." He smiled then picked out a Pokeball from his belt and threw it into the air. Out came Ludicolo as it began to dance about as it usually dud.

"I choose Ludicolo first. What will be your choice?" He judged Bianca's reaction and decided not to be harsh on her first battle with him. He wouldn't hold back much though, since it would be good training for her.

Bianca doesn't mind battling. In her mind, it was considered studying and one step closer to be a professor. A Ludicolo huh? It was green so might be considered a grass type...but it looked like a duck so might it be water? She wasn't sure, she never had the chance to study a pokemon like this before.

"Mienshao, c'mon out!" Once her pokemon come out, she lets out a hmph before getting into her fighting stance. If she doesn't know what type it is, she'll have to figure it out sooner or later!

"Mienshao? I've not heard of that Pokemon before. Alas, most of the Unova region Pokemon are unfamiliar to me. I will venture there one day, I hope." He smiled and looked at the Pokemon for a bit. Now, down to buisiness.

"Alright. Not knowing what type it is, although it does look like a Normal type Pokemon. I could be wrong though. Ludicolo, Water Gun!" He raised a finger towards Bianca's Pokemon as Ludicolo jumped intot he air and sprayed Mienshao with a huge jet of water.

"Quick, try to dodge it! Counter it was a Drain Punch!" She shouted to her pokemon as she tried to escape the the jet of water. So Bianca was right, it was a water pokemon. She smiled to herself a bit, feeling proud that she got something right.

As Mienshao got hit by the water, she struggled a bit to get up. However, when she did, she went straight for a Drain Punch at Ludicolo. Time to get back some health points that he stole from her!

Wallace was happy to see that Bianca knew how to counter moves. Ludicolo managed to avoid the Drain Punch as it was quicker than it looked. It was good at dodging with it's dancing moves, honed over time.

"Drain Punch, hm? Ludicolo, dodge it and use Giga Drain! Ludicolo is a Water type but also Grass type, which gives it an advantage in certain ways." Wallace smiled as Ludicolo leaped into the air, span around once and went to use Giga Drain on Mienshao.

Quickly, Mienshao was trying to outrun Ludicolo's Giga Drain and only managed to avoid most of it. Still, her pokemon got hurt so there was nothing she could do. With a huff, the pokemon got right back up for another attack. "Mienshao, try to use another Drain Punch!"

Now Bianca was starting to get worried a bit but she won't show that just yet. All that mattered right now was Mienshao's safety. Was she able to handle it? They were fighting against a champion after all...

Wallace smiled as Bianca went to use Drain Punch. "Ludicolo, counter and use Zen Headbutt!" He hoped that Ludicolo would be able to dodge Mienshao and use Zen Headbutt. Luciolo turned and went to dodge the punch but it was slightly lagging behind. Mienshao was that bit faster this time as it took some HP from Ludicolo.

"Now, Ludicolo!" Wallace could see that Ludicolo was alright, even though Drain Punch had left him somewhat disorientated. He span around and bounced onto the ground, aiming a Zen Headbutt at Mienshao.

Even though Mienshao was quick, she wasn't able to dodge the headbutt in time. As a result, Bianca took a step forward for her pokemon. "Mienshao!" She shouted but once the dust cleared, her pokemon was having trouble getting up. Now she was in trouble.

"Quick, do a U-Turn!" With that, Mienshao tried to get up one more time to do one final attack on his pokemon. She just hopes that she was able to do some damage so she can get another pokemon out.

Wallace could see the determination in Bianca's eyes. That was a good sign. Her Mienshao was strong but not strong enough against Lucidolo. Understandable though. Still, this battle was just getting started.

"U-turn? Ah, interesting choice." Wallace watched as Ludicolo span around in the air. "Dodge it and use Bounce!" He smiled as he knew Bounce was a Flying type move and super effective against Fighting types. Ludicolo was suddenly caught off guard as the dust got in it's eyes from Mienshao. The U-Turn hit him in the back as he smacked into the ground.

"Get up and use Bounce, Ludicolo!" Wallace frowned and saw that Ludicolo got up and was back dancing. He bounced on both feet and flew into the air, aiming to land on Mienshao.

Bianca let out a sigh of relief knowing that Mienshao didn't have to faint. Once the attack was done, she returned the pokemon back before throwing Simisage. Ludicolo was a water/grass type right? So that means Simisage would be able to put up a descent fight.

"Try to dodge Bounce!" She said once he was let out. Luckily, he was able to but only barely. "Try to use Rock Slide if you can!" With that, there was a rain of rocks coming from the sky. Yes it was probably a bad move but she panicked.

Oh, a Simisage. It looked like a Grass type in Wallace's eyes. The green hue its body gave off and Wallace knew his Grass types. "Oh, a Grass type. How brilliant!" He clapped his hands in enjoyment then focused again on the battle.

So, she was using Bounce, hm? "Ludicolo, return!" Wallace had a tactic to use another Pokemon now as Ludicolo was beginning to become fatigued as he was hit by a few of the rocks from Rock Slide.

"Alright, come out Gyarados!" He threw the Pokeball into the air as Gyarados came out, roaring. He awaited orders from his master.

"Gyarados, use Hyper Beam!" He hoped that the recharge time wouldn't be too much as Gyarados was part Water part Flying so Simisage might deal some damage using a Grass type move.

This was why Wallace was the champion, Bianca wasn't sure how Simisage was going to avoid this one. Let's see, what did Professor Juniper say about Hyper Beams? They were normal attacks so her pokemon might have a chance of surviving it. Still, she was going to continue on hoping and have Simisage counter it.

"Try to counter with Energy Ball!" No matter what, Gyarados was still a water type. She just hopes that the attack will be super effective against him.

As the Hyper Beam was aiming toward her pokemon, Simisage had a couple of green circles aiming toward Gyarados. Who will win? Who knows.

Energy Ball, hm? Curious. A good strong Grass type move that one.

"Gyarados, try to counter by diving by curling into a ball!" Wallace hoped that it wouldn't take so much damage if it were defending itself.

Gyarados let off the Hyper Beam towards Simisage and curled itself into a ball for defense as the Energy Ball hit.

Her pokemon tried to run away from the beam but the force from the ground manage make Simisage flying in the air. He let out a mumble before looking back at Gyarados to see it curl into a ball.

There was clearly a look of annoyance from his face knowing that it wouldn't do as much damage as he thought it would.

"You okay, Simisage?" Bianca asked before continuing. "Good, try to attack it with another Energy Ball!"

Wallace knew that was coming as Bianca seemed to care about her Pokemon a great deal. That was something that warmed his heart but could also be a negative during a battle. Being too attached could let your guard down and not want to use certain moves which may be effective.

"Gyarados, try to counter and curl into a ball once more." Wallace knew that Gyarados needed to recharge after using Hyper Beam.

Meanwhile Bianca was starting to panic a bit. One more of those hyper beam attacks and he would have the potential to make Simisage faint. She needed to think of something else since this wasn't working. Let's see, what can she do?

"Simisage, wait until Gyarados uses his attack." And then she'll try to think up of something. She just wasn't sure what.

Wallace could see Bianca start to panic a little. That was to be expected. She was new to battling but she did have it all in place. She just needed practice.

"Are you alright? Had enough yet?" He looked at her questioningly.

She shakes her head. "No, I'm not going to give up! I want to see if I can battle to the end!" Unless her pokemon all faint or about the faint.

"What about you? Do you want to keep continuing?"

"Of course. We've not finished yet." He closed his eyes then smiled. "The battle is still fresh. Let us continue." He opened his eyes and fixed his blue gaze on her.

"Bianca. Be mindful of your Pokemon's feelings aswell as your own. Do not battle until they are exhausted. Backing out is not cowardly but honest if you feel you cannot win."

She got out a mumble of her own. She was still insecure about her own feeling as a pokemon trainer and while she knew she wasn't 'strong', that doesn't mean she was a bad one. She loved them dearly, she wouldn't ever push her pokemon at their limit.

"So are you saying I should back down?" She did want to battle him, just to prove herself to him but she was mumbling some more. Simisage looked back at her as she does with him. "Do you want to keep on battling?"

He nodded before she gave a small smile. "All right then. We'll keep on battling!"

"Alright. We'll continue our battle. It seems your Pokemon want to, which is a good sign." He nodded and smiled. Gyarados seemed ok to fight too. This was an easy battle for him. Bianca was still a up and coming trainer though and had some good moves of her own.

"What will be your next move?"

Obviously Bianca can't keep using the same attacks over and over again so she'll think of something else. "We'll do a Rock Slide." She might have something up her sleeve here...

"Rock Slide? Hm, curious. Alright, Gyarados, evade and use Hydro Pump!" Wallace gave the order and waited for the outcome.

Simisage was trying his best to evade Hydro Pump but he wasn't attacking just yet. Instead, he was just avoiding his attacks but he was just looking for an opening to use energy ball on him. Bianca didn't say anything because she knew she could trust her pokemon. She could tell what he was doing.

Wallace watched closely at how her Simisage was dodging the move. It was quick and must have a high agility level. Impressive. "Alright, Gyarados, use Hydro Pump on Simisage!" He knew it wouldn't inflict much damaga but Wallace wanted to gauge Simisage's reaction time.

Meanwhile, Bianca took that chance once again to use energy ball straight at Gyarados. If she could time his reaction well enough, Simisage might be able to attack his pokemon with full blast.

Gyarados didn't avoid the Energy Ball as it came hurtling towards him. He cried out then felt his HP lower somewhat. Wallace frowned. "Very good, Bianca! You got Gyarados with a direct hit."

Bianca let out a small smile knowing that she was doing something right. "Thank you! Now, Simisage, try to use another energy ball again!"

Wallace noticed her smile of achievement. He had known that look from many trainers in the past when challenging him at the League. "Another Energy Ball, hm? Curious." He looked towards Gyarados then pulled out his Pokeball.

"Gyarados, withdraw!" The Pokemon went back to it's ball before Wallace pulled a new Pokeball out. "Alright, go Ludicolo!" He smiled as the duck-like Pokemon launched from it's ball.

He was using Ludicolo but he was still a water type right? That means Simisage could still have an advantage. However, she didn't know a lot about this type of pokemon so she will have to figure out.

"Energy ball!" She shouted as her pokemon went straight for Ludicolo.

Wallace smirked. "Ludicolo is a dual type Pokemon. Part water and part grass type. Energy Ball will not do much." He watched as Ludicolo absorbed the energy ball and danced around. It hardly scaped him at all.

"Ludicolo, use Hyper Beam!"

Oh right, Bianca forgot for a moment. "Quick, Simisage, try to dodge it!"

With that, she quickly returned her pokemon back to her pokeball before getting out another one. "Go Musharna, use psychic on him!"

"A Musharna, hm? A Psychic type if I am not mistaken. A good choice." Wallace withdrew Ludicolo and brought out Wailord. The large Water-type stood ready for orders.

That...is one big whale.

Either way, it looked like it was a water type. As long as it wasn't a dark, bug, or ghost type, Musharna seemed to be in good shape.

"Use Psychic!" She shouted to see what kind of affect it might have against Wailord.

Yes, Wailord was a MASSIVE Pokemon, Bianca. Wallace hardly ever brought him out to show like this. Except when a challenger wanted to fight him for the right of Champion.

"Psychic, hm? An interesting choice." Wallace smiled then focused on the battle. "Wailord, use Hydro Pump!"

"Use Psychic again!" She cried to her pokemon as she saw she was trying to dodge the Hydro Pump. So far so good...but she needs to be careful. she doesn't know how strong Wailord was but she'll hope that she'll be able to do some damage against his pokemon.

Psychic again, hm? Wallace could tell that Bianca was trying her hardest to defeat Wailord. But it was proving a challenge. Wailord had a lot of HP and high defence.

"Wailord, dodge and use Body Slam!" Wallace ordered as the large Pokemon went to slam into Musharna.

"Quick, dodge it!" Bianca cried out in hopes that her pokemon would avoid that attack. The moment that Wailord does a body slam, her Musharna would be done. There's no way that she would be able to survive that.

For a moment, Musharna stared at the on coming body slam before finally moving away. The problem was that she didn't move quickly as her pokemon was caught in the attack.

"MUSHARNA!" She shouted before waiting to see if her pokemon still had enough health points left.

Wallace smiled at Bianca's tactics. Curious. She had faith in her Musharna and that made him smile. Wailord seemed unfazed when she used Psychic on him.

"Wailord, use Body Slam once more!"

Her pokemon was trying her best to dodge it again, she can't take another hit. She moved as fast as she could to get away from the incoming shadow in the middle of the battle field. Before she could, Wailord already did a body slam. However, there was a big dust once he did so.

Now what?

Wallace wondered what Bianca would do next after his Wailord performed Body slam on her Musharna. "Bianca? Are you alright?"

There was a small mumble from her. She knew that with Musharna, she lost the battle. It was expected since she was battling against a champion. Still, she gave a smile to Wallace.

"Yeah, I'm fine! That was a great battle, I think I learned a lot from it! I'll be sure to improve the next time if we have a battle again!"

It was better to have lost and learned something.

He walked closer to her and put a hand on her shoulder. "I enjoyed that match, Bianca. Perhaps we can battle again. I would much like it if we could. You are a strong opponent. Do not let a defeat dampen your spirits. I would gladly challenge you back at the Hoenn Champion's League if you ever go there."

With his words, she felt a little better.

"I might but I don't think I'll be going to challenge you for a long while back home! I have to become a pokemon professor before I do!"

And besides, would she even remember this battle?

"Becoming a Pokemon professor sounds wonderful. I wish you luck on that, Bianca. I did enjoy our battle together." He smiled.
