No more procrastinating
Who: Kratos, Lloyd, possibly Angelo if he's around
When: Morning, August 18th
Where: Lloyd and Angelo's apartment
Style: Brackets forever
Status: Closed
[Early that morning, Kratos heads out to attempt to deliver the portrait to Lloyd yet again. Unfortunately for him, this time there's no Colette conveniently stumbling to the ground to allow him to put off the occasion further. He briefly considers just slipping it underneath the door, but even someone as emotionally stunted as Kratos can see what sort of message that would leave. Bracing himself, he knocks.]

Alcohol isn't poison, I have no idea where you got that mindset.
[He also notices the lack of a third plate, but doesn't bother saying anything. Even if Kratos was an angel or whatever Lloyd said, he pretty much thought it was more he just didn't want to sit with them.]

[See: Drunkpost with Zelos.]
Yes, I imagine it is.
[Kratos blinks a couple times in response to Lloyd. Lloyd knows he doesn't need to eat, so why would he ask?]
I don't require nourishment.

[About as sorry as he'd felt the morning after he got drunk at the casino. Dirk hadn't been sympathetic.]
I dunno, Angelo. Something that makes you throw up and gives you a headache sounds kind of like poison to me.
[But now he's looking at Kratos with a frown.]
Don't you still want to eat, though? Just because you don't need to doesn't mean you have to give it up.
no subject
It doesn't seem that way to me, but drinking it for years could be a factor to that.
no subject
[He looks to Angelo again. Seriously? He really doesn't know that alcohol is bad for people? Well, that lessens his grievances with the boy somewhat, at least.]
no subject
[He takes a few healthy bites of omelette, as though to underscore his point. He's always really liked Kratos's omelettes, and today is no exception. It does make him happier to see the other man eat, too. It just never sat well with him to think of someone not getting to eat.
Lloyd tilts his head at Angelo.]
I wonder if that means you've been poisoned for years so you just don't notice it anymore.
no subject
[Oh no, he was about to talk about something from his youth. What was he doing? But that slip did bring up memories he had buried deep down. The moment he first drank at the pub in Simpleton after being told he was of age to leave the abbey on his own. But from that, a certain person appears in his mind whom he never wanted to remember; his older half-brother. Angelo's complexion goes slightly pale when he has to remember him and he might be showing an expression of sadness too at that very moment.]

[Rather than explain that he's basically become a creature that lives off of mana, Kratos just gets up and gets a small amount of food for himself. Anna had always preferred it when he ate with her, too. He takes a bite, pausing when he notices the change in Angelo's expression.]
You build up a tolerance for alcohol as your body adjusts. It can eventually damage your organs permanently.
[Better to keep talking about the physical effects than ask what had made him make that face, or give Lloyd the opportunity to ask.]
no subject
Angelo, maybe you shouldn't drink so much.
[...hey, at least he's not prying into Angelo's past?]
no subject
Thank you for the concern and I appreciate it, but please understand that it's my life and choices.

[Kratos actually quite likes teaching people, though he can be more than a little harsh with his methods (and he's definitely sparing with his praise). In this case, though, it was mostly an attempt to gently get Lloyd to back off. He goes back to eating quietly, not really tasting that much of it at all.]
no subject
I know. I just don't want you to get hurt or sick. Maybe if you make sure to touch the coral...
[The thought that the coral could help makes his worry ease a bit. Enough that a twitch of amusement mixed with exasperation tugs a the corners of his mouth.]
Man, Kratos. Do you have to be like the Professor and turn everything into education?
[He's only half serious.]
no subject
I've been very aware of its effects for a long time, it's simply that I don't believe it to be a poison anymore because I'm quite use to the taste. Hence why I don't believe it to be a poison, of course you're free to believe that. [He looks at Lloyd again, his face now less sad and more of a "whatever" expression.] I've heard about that, I'll be sure to when I'm feeling ill.
no subject
You need to touch the coral at least monthly regardless. We're dependent upon it, apparently.
no subject
Well, maybe you got used to it, but I think I'm done with it. I don't ever want to feel like that again.
[Speaking of being done, he's almost through with his omelette. He relishes the last few bites, then sets his fork down.]
That was really good! Thanks... um... [Oh, hello, awkward moment again.] Thanks for cooking, I mean.
no subject
Yes, the food wasn't terrible. Thanks for cooking it, but it's about time I get dressed.
no subject
I should return this to Amaterasu.
[He nods to them both awkwardly, standing up and taking his still mostly full plate to the sink. At least he made a token effort!]
no subject
He almost wishes he could leave the room with Angelo, ducking out of the rest of this awkward moment with Kratos.]
Amaterasu...
[He glances at Kratos.]
That's who painted that picture?
no subject
Amaterasu... She was the wolf goddess who helped fight against that Emperor of Darkness named Yami, wasn't she?
no subject
[Getting past Yami, going to find Raine, safely retrieving her, making it back to the elevator and ensuring she was cared for ate up a lot of time.]

I was inside Vatheon. The Defense Force was worried the attack might not stay on the island. Some of us needed to stay behind.
[As sound as the logic had been, though, that didn't change the fact that the attack had stayed on the island, leaving him waiting around and feeling utterly useless. Some of that frustration has clearly leaked into his voice.
Skepticism, too. He frowns a little.]
...is she really a goddess?
[The only goddess he's ever known about turned out to be a lie all along.]

[He isn't trying to be conceited by using himself as a power scale, but after being second only to Mithos for thousands of years... it's hard not to be.]
no subject
His frown isn't going away, but now it's there for another reason.]
If she's the one who painted that picture... Maybe you should wait. I mean, to get it fixed. If she got hurt...
no subject
Well I'll leave you two alone, I need to dress myself since I have plans for today.
