12 - Knight Halberd F

Who: Zelda, Duke, whoever she ropes in to help.

[ Lots of sleeping. He's been doing that a lot, right? Maybe it wouldn't change anytime soon.

But that would be wrong. Duke feels like lots of BLECH, and rather than try to do anything more, he rolls over.

... there is something warm and flower smelling here, and it makes his head pound. What. Even. ]

[Zelda has gotten so used to having Duke in her room that she hardly takes notice of it anymore, other than being sure to turn him over so that he doesn't develop bed sores. Since Ganondorf had called off Ghirahim and Link went home, she honestly could have moved him to the spare room some time ago, she simply never bothered.

As such, he's become somewhat like a piece of furniture and she is initially very startled when he moves.]

W... Duke! Are you awake?

[ That's a really good question. Is he awake?

Everything is not in a happy place right now. Does his short noise of discomfort and slow curling into a ball make him seem more awake? Because he'd rather be asleep. ]

It's been quite some time since you fell asleep... do you feel ill? It might be coral sickness. Perhaps we should take you to the Lamufao.

[Zelda slips out from underneath her blankets and leans over, pressing a hand to his forehead. He does feel a little clammy.]

Do you think you could stand if I helped you, or should I call someone?

[ Give him a bit of time to try to process your words, Zelda, its not working well for him. He's not even going to try to figure out why he's in a bed that smells very much like Zelda. He just knows he feels really sick, and that means he wants to sleep again to make it feel better.

This is a slight grumble noise, but he's going to reach for something to cover his head with. Its rather uncoordinated, and a bit shaky. He needs help, if you want to get him walking. ]

[Zelda takes his hand to stop him from covering his head up and slips it over her shoulders, gently trying to get him to sit up.]

Duke, you need to get to the coral.

[ What Duke really picked together about that was 'coral', which was outside, and he didn't really want to go outside.

... Yeah, Zelda is going to need help to get him any more 'up' than this. He's kinda wobbly and still looking like he'd rather make a blanket nest than get up any further. Not to mention all sorts of lovely sick-like effects from not having touched the coral. He'd really rather be laying down. ]

[The one benefit to Duke being so out of it is that Zelda can change out of her nightgown and into clothes appropriate for heading outside without fearing he'll see something he shouldn't. After that, she goes back over to him and takes hold of both his wrists, turning her back to him. He's far too heavy for her to lift on her own, but with magical aid and a partial levitation spell, she can manage. Any protests of his are completely ignored as she positions him so that she can take him to the plaza herself.]

[ Ignore those nonsensical protests. They're really not to much more than grumbles and a little bit of badly coordinated attempts to move, because he figures out that there's not much between him and the ground and falling isn't good.

He'll be still now. And try not to put his face awkwardly in her hair or against her ear or something. ]

[Zelda's fine for the most part, but feeling someone's breath in her hair (and on one of her ears) is a bit more stimulation than she's accustomed to. It's no surprise that she makes it to the coral in record time due to her eagerness to get Duke moving on his own again. The princess adjusts Duke and moves one of his arms to stretch out so he can touch Lamufao with his hand.]

D-do you feel better?

[ Can people even get sick of motion while being carried? But its clear that he's being carried, and the motion isn't helping anything feel good, but then the motion mostly stops and he'll just quietly. Keep his stomach from trying to climb anywhere it shouldn't and -

Moving his hand now. Okay. ]

[ ... And suddenly its very clear that Zelda is holding him on her back.

This is really awkward.

Duke will just... nod... awkwardly... and try to get to his feet and he feels surprisingly light. huh. ]

... much.

[She does her best to help him to his feet before turning to face him, still holding on just in case.]

I'm going to remove the spell now. Your weight will change, so brace yourself, alright?

[Why is it that it's so different being close to Duke if he's awake?! She's been moving him around without trouble since he became comatose, and now suddenly it's embarrassing? Honestly.]

[ Because it means that she's the one most aware of the fact that they're standing rather close? Duke doesn't seem to think too much on it anymore, although he seems aware that it was a bit awkward right now.

Have another little nod. He's trying to figure out how long he was asleep, and absently going to help her help brace him. Awkward? Totally not. ]

[Zelda concentrates, slowly removing the spell. Once she's certain that Duke has his balance, she steps back a little. Alright, that was a little embarrassing, but it is good to see him up and around again.]

You've been sleeping for over a month, now. I was beginning to get concerned.

... Month? [ Duke blinks. ]

.... need to clean mouth then. [ He probably has nasty breath. ]

I would imagine so. Let's head back to my place, it's a little late to be going back into the forest. You can use the bath as well, I'm sure you must be sore after being still for so long. I'll handle your clothing.

[She nods down to the blue tunic Duke is wearing.]

I stored your coat. It seemed prudent to make sure you would be alright if the bubble did flood, after all...

[And he changed her, so he's apparently alright with the idea. MOVING RIGHT ALONG.]

[ Clothing? Duke blinks, and yes, he isn't wearing his clothing. How had he gotten out - oh.

... maybe that's a little awkward. But also completely understandable so here's just some nodding and. ]

... Bath sounds good. [ Although he may not want to take particularly warm one, or Zelda may have to figure out how to deal with Duke falling asleep in the bath.... ]

[Well that should be entertaining. Of course she'll run him a warm bath, it's good for sore muscles! And he was just asleep for over a month, there's no way he'll want to sleep again so soon. Zelda leads the way back to Ordo 3, conveniently close to the plaza. She'd chosen it initially for its proximity to the library, but now that she was on the Welcoming Committee it was proving useful in more than one way. She ducks into the downstairs bathroom with the whirlpool tub long enough to start filling it, then goes and picks up Duke's usual clothing and holds it out to him.]

I'll find something light to eat for when you're finished.

[ Yes, but Duke is a little sore, and a nice warm bath will remind him that ~~he is a giant cat~~ warm is the best way to sleep.

If he's not out in half an hour, Zelda may need to try to wake him up. ]

..... thank you. [ He'll vanish and soak ~~and hopefully not nap.~~ ]

[With tea brewed and sandwiches made, Zelda waits patiently for Duke to get out.

And waits.

And gets a little worried when it takes too long. She gets up and knocks on the bathroom door, calling out.]

Is everything alright?

[ Everything is perfectly alright! The bath is nice and comfortably warm.

And Duke is asleep.

And the knocking and calling didn't wake him up. ]

[Dhaos is comatose. Link is comatose. Zelos was comatose, but he's thankfully woken up. Duke himself was out for a long period of time and now he's not answering. What if he'd slipped away again right in the bath tub?

Zelda can't bring herself to go check for another ten minutes. When she does approach, she just reaches one arm out timidly to nudge him, looking away with her eyes closed and bright red.]

Duke? Are you alright?

[ He's sleepy, that's what he is. This is the sleepy noise of 'I am not moving, find another spot' in Duke-ish, and he does shift a tiny bit, but yep. sleeping.

All the sleeping. ]

[Was he still ill from having slept so long? Did the hot water spike some sort of fever? Zelda looks over at him quickly. No, he looks... he looks alright, with his hair wet and clinging to his neck and shoulders and....

No, she's going to shake him gently again and NOT look. He still doesn't seem to wake up. Why is Zelos still out?! Does the host club really stay open this late? She can't lift Duke out of the tub, she just can't! He's not wearing anything! If she could manage to keep her cool with a nude man around, Zelda would think to drain the water to wake him up. The sudden loss of warmth would do the trick easily.

Unfortunately, she can't, and after calling his name one more time to try and rouse him she's slipping her arms under his and wrapping them up around his chest to attempt to get him out of the tub. He might be sick, and he's her friend. She can't just leave him.]

[ Obviously the warm-to-cold was definitely enough, as pulling Duke part of the way out of the water wakes him.

Well, it wakes enough that he lifts his head in confusion and blinks about.
