If anyone happens to be in the library today, they might spot a tiny bespectacled child curled up in a chair with a huge stack of books next to him.  All mysteries.

Conan has discovered the library's mystery section.  Bother him at your own risk.

Yachiru had not originally planned to visit the library since reading isn't one of her strongest points. Her initially plan was to investigate a weapon shop, but her sense of direction lead her to the library.

After being shooed by the librarian, she is trying to find something interesting inside the place. Hopefully, a colorful picture book or one of the fairy tale stories.

Spotting Conan, she moves closer and marvels at the stack of books next to him. Yachiru attempts to reading the titles, but gives up after a brief moment of trying.

"Did ya read all those books by yourself?"

Conan had been happily buried in a particularly intricate alibi trick. He doesn't stop to look up from the page as he answers the question.

"Not yet. I just started on them."

Yachiru is used to adults wanting to stay inside and read. It boggles her mind that a kid, like her, would want to do such a thing. Climbing next to the stack books, she pokes the spine of one of the books rather gently.

"You're gonna read them all by yourself? They look sorta boring."

That makes him look over at her with slight annoyance. "How could they be boring? They're mysteries. Mysteries are really amazing. They're like puzzles made by the human mind."

Looking down at the books, she doesn't see how they could be puzzle. Well, maybe if you stack them up in different ways. Tilting her head, she tries to see what Conan sees, but still sees nothing even after poking one of them

"I dunno. They don't look like puzzles. They still look and feel like books."

Long experience with the detective boys allows Conan to translate that. He sighs in annoyance.

"Not the books. The stories inside them."

Well, that does make more sense then what Conan said before. Still, mysteries were too boring for her taste.

"Oh, why didn't say that before? I like stories with lots of fighting and adventure. 'Sides, Yunyun said I'm not allowed to read those kinds of stories yet."

She points to the mystery books. Considering Yachiru is already sly enough to get away with many things. Reading mysteries would only give her more ideas to torment the hapless population of Seireitei.

"Those are boring. Mysteries are much more interesting to read. Because you can follow the logic and deductive method of the detective. Detectives are really amazing. Just by uncovering the facts and thinking they can figure out any puzzle."

Conan was mildly offended at the very idea of reading anything else. Of course his concept of what was appropriate reading for children was rather unusual. He saw nothing wrong with taking first graders into crime scenes.

"No, they're not boring 'cause sometimes they come up with really good fight strategies and battles. Though not as exciting as Ken-chan's fights! What's a de-duck-tive method? So, detectives think a lot and solve stuff? That's boring."

Considering Yachiru is a fighter, reading isn't that high on her list of things that are. Granted, her definition of fun involves beating thing, as occasionally people, into a pulp. She wouldn't say no to seeing a crime scene.

[ Did you say bother? Because if so here's the famed phantom thief that has probably been in ten different fights with his childhood friend just that morning alone. Isn't living with Kaito and Aoko fun? ]

[ Anyways. Kaito stops in front of the detective and just shakes his head. ]

I'm not even a little bit surprised.

[Did you expect Conan to be happy to see this guy again? He places a finger on the page to hold his place and gives Kid an irritated look.]

Did you need something?

[Here's someone else with his own stack of books. It's not as impressive as the pile of mystery books, but that's not saying much - "barely small enough to carry" doesn't mean "small", never mind how optimistic that description is already starting to appear. And the closest chair just had to be on the other side of this precarious-looking stack, didn't it?

He can't tap the kid on the shoulder without burying him in heavy non-fiction tomes, and in any case isn't in a good enough mood to be that subtle. Instead, he gives the chair a pointed nudge with his foot.] Hey. Coming through.

[Conan looks up irritably, with an expression on his face familiar to anyone who has ever interrupted a bibliophile during a good part. That is quickly changed for alarm and a quick scramble out of the way.]

[He does at least give the kid a slightly apologetic grin before pushing past.

Once he's finally found somewhere to set his books down, he settles into the chair opposite and pulls one off the top of the stack. Before he can open it, though, a few of the spines in Conan's pile happen to catch his eye.]

Detective stories? Really? [And he glances over the rest of the pile.] Guess everyone needs a hobby.

[Conan frowns at him. Do not put down detective novels in front of a mystery geek.]

Detectives are the best things to read about! Sherlock Holmes is the best, of course. But there are many other detectives with good deduction skills.
