It had really been one of those days, you know the ones where everything just seems to keep going wrong. Nothing major even, just little things going wrong here and there. Spoiled milk, stubbed toes, stepping barefoot on the end of a power-cord, and a broken house-plant aren't much by them selves, but when they happen in a 10 minute period it serves to put one in a terrible mood.

Suddenly feeling a little claustrophobic, she decided some fresh air was in order. She just needed to get out of the house for awhile to center herself. "How could this day get any worse", she thought aloud. Taking to the island sounded like a good idea, she would even take some of the books she had recently gotten from the library with her for entertainment. She planned to do some more reading of the bible Signless had given her, too.

She gathered up various supplies for her little personal picnic she had planned. A blanket, flashlight, her books of course, and a couple fruit bars. She settled for apple because they were out of the strawberry she really loved, even though she was certain there were some left.

She arrived at the elevator, her nose already buried in a book, barely aware of her surroundings
or whoever else was waiting for the trip up. She offered a absent-minded hello to those around her, not really paying attention. The greenblood boarded the lift, continuing to read the book about Human Theology she had borrowed.

It was about halfway through the elevators ascension when the clock struck seven and the entire city is plunged into Darkness. The elevator jerks to a stop, the sound of its halted machinations disappearing as an echo up the shaft.

"What in the..." Her sentence hung unfinished in the all-consuming darkness, and was replaced with the sounds of her attempting to retrieve the flashlight she had brought with her.
