Taking Gohan's advice, Ruca could be found today in the park... studying. Since staying all day in his room wouldn't be anything good.

So now, you could see the silver-haired boy sitting under the tree, books all around him and one in his hands. He was reading and not paying much attention to the world around him.

Well, at least this time he was not walking and reading at the same time!

"Even so, what you did's much better than just leaving me there to bleed out." Yuri responded seriously, ruffling Ruca's hair a little more.

"You should try to be more confident in yourself, you know... you're a sweet kid, despite what you say."

Ruca's eyes widened at that.

"B-but I would never leave anyone in such state!" he shook his head. "And I don't think anyone could..."

Was it only natural for people to help each other?

Ruca looked away, blushing slightly.

"...That's why I don't think I did something special; I just did what anyone would."

"I know more than a few back home who'd be more than happy to let me bleed out, sadly..." Yuri responded darkly, sighing as his expression darkened. Being somewhat of a crusader for the Lower Quarter in Zaphias brought its share of enemies, sadly; he decided he wasn't going to bother Ruca with the details, though.

"Still... thanks. I think it means something, what you did."

Ruca looked at Yuri, wondering who could that be. He never asked anything, seeing how Yuri's expression darkened. It wouldn't be right to ask.

Still, he shook his head.

"There's no need to thank me, really." he glanced down at his book. "I just... I'm just glad I was able to help."

"And help you did." Yuri grinned as he ruffled his hair again before looking down at the book. It looked so confusing, but hey. He figured he might as well ask.

"So what're you reading up on, anyway?"

"That's good." Ruca said now smiling a little.

"Oh... it's just one of my medical books." he showed the book to Yuri, even though he was sure that the other most probably won't understand much of what was written in it. "Those are all the basic that a doctor needs to know."

"Looks like a lot you'd need to know." Yuri responded with a low whistle as he continued to look at the book. So many words... he sighed, laughing a little as he glanced at the boy.

"You know, you and Estelle would probably get along swimmingly, pardon the pun. She's as much of a bookworm as you are."

Ruca only smiled sheepishly.

"Estelle?" he asked, hearing the name. "But I do know her. I usually see her in the library and we've spoken a few times already... She's a very kind person..."

"Have you? I see..." Yuri grins, letting out a low laugh as he nodded in agreement. "You're right, she's a total sweetheart. Won't hesitate to help others in need... like you, really."

"Like me...?" he looked embarrassed again.

"No, I'm not..."

He really didn't think too highly of himself.

"I-In any case... um... how do you like Vatheon, Yuri?"

Maybe trying to change the topic of the conversation would be better? Ruca sure hoped it would.

So cute, Ruca. Yuri had to resist the urge to laugh and ruffle his hair again as he sighed, looking up to the sky and sighing seriously.

"Not too bad? Though I don't like the fact that I got caught up in looking into some people getting killed out here."

Ruca stared at Yuri for a good moment, before he managed to say anything.

"W-what do you mean by that?"

Someone... was killed?

Yuri groaned as he leaned back against the tree -- thankfully this one didn't seem too badly wrecked, but the ex-knight gestured towards another part of the park that looked significantly burned.

"Couple people died a few days ago. Then a... hybrid demon thing rampaged through here as a result. It was nuts."

Ruca looked at the burned parts of the park. Burns. Hybrid demon...?

He looked at Yuri.

"The flames... were they blue?"

"... yeah, blue flames." Yuri slowly nodded at that, glancing at Ruca. "The two that die had the names of Shing and Kohaku, if I got it right... do you know either of them?"

"...Rin."

Ruca looked shook hearing the names. He couldn't believe...

"Shing and Kohaku... are...?"

He shook his head, tears started fall.

"No... A-are you sure about this?! Are you sure they...?!" he couldn't even say that word. It was too much.

"... yeah. Someone went out and retrieved their corpses before the fire consumed everything." Yuri grimly reported, glancing at Ruca. Oh, no, he knew them, too?

Suddenly he found himself hugging the poor kid in an attempt to comfort him. "I'm sorry..."

Ruca didn't know Kohaku too well, but he did know both Shing and Rin. That was why he didn't want to believe that something so horrible had happened to them.

He couldn't stop himself from crying and when Yuri hugged him, he tried his best to keep himself from crying even more. Tears wouldn't be able to help anyone, after all.

Once he calmed down a little, he asked:

"How... did that happen?"

There was a pause as Yuri's expression darkened, recalling some of the details, as scattered as they were.

"Apparently Shing and Kohaku were killed by someone else, who was then killed by Rin before he went ballistic." Yuri finally reported, sighing as he did. "It's a mess. I can understand why Rin did what he did, but..." A click of the tongue as Yuri paused. "I'd love to string up whoever did this myself, if only to keep my friends safe."

Ruca didn't respond to this in any way. He stayed completely silent.

It wasn't fair. Nobody should had died back there... but he wasn't blaming anyone for anything. He didn't know the details of what actually happened.

"...Is Rin... okay?" he asked suddenly.

"I think he'll be fine? Though he seemed pretty out of it when we'd retrieved him." Yuri responded honestly, sighing as he looked at his hands again. They were still somewhat tingling from all of the burning of, well, everything the past few days ago.

"I'm not surprised..."

Ruca tried to wipe his tears away, then looked at Yuri.

"And what about you...?"

"... I'd be lying if I said I knew." Yuri responded finally, looking out into the distance. "I didn't personally know them, so I don't feel as badly, but... I'm more concerned about my friends." He sighed, his brow crinkling in thought. "This guy's probably gonna come back, yeah? What's gonna stop him from going after more people?"

"I just want to know if he'll be stopped for good." he says finally, glancing meaningfully at Ruca. "Especially before he hurts anyone I know."

Ruca was watching Yuri in silence, before he let a sigh.

"...He will come back, I'm pretty sure about that... but we shouldn't just assume that he will go after other people."

He looked away.

"And even if he does... I want to hope that there will be a different way to solve this."

He looked at Yuri.

"... So that nobody would die and everyone would be safe."

Even that guy. No matter how bad was what he had done, no matter how unforgivable it was... he still didn't deserve to die. Ruca didn't know a thing about him after all.

Yuri ends up being stunned into silence -- he really wanted even their killer to be alive? Still, he has to admit Ruca certainly had more restraint than he did when it came to villainous and/or otherwise evil-types. It reminded him of both Flynn and Estelle, in a way. And perhaps even to a time where he perhaps didn't need to kill the corrupt, the monstrous...

"... you really are something else, Ruca. And I mean that in a good way." Yuri finally replies. "You've definitely got more morals than I do, that's for sure."
