[For some reason, the mosasaurus seems to be unusually noisy, roaring and splashing about. There's some pretty sweet waves resulting from it, though they eventually return to your every day stormy weather waves as the mosasaurus sinks back down under the water. Did something piss it off...?

Well, there's a guy floating on his back with his eyes shut not too far from the shore.

...He doesn't seem to be moving.]

[Johnny's wrapped in long trenchcoat and actually covered for once as he walks along the beach, when he notices the very still Serph, though, he leaves the jacket on the sand and rushes into the water to check on his friend.

When Johnny reaches him, he wraps an arm under Serph's shoulders, concern evident even through his sniffling and sick tone.]

Ah-! Serph? Serph! Are you okay?

[Serph was having a nice, relaxing rest out on the water -- outswimming a creature who made the water home is hard work, you know? -- when suddenly whoa what's happening who is this what--

Serph's eyes instantly snap open.

...Oh. It's just Johnny. That's okay then.

He nods.]

I'm fine.

[See? No injuries or anything! But he does note that Johnny seems less than energetic today, so he shifts so Johnny doesn't have to support him and moves in the general direction of the shore.]

At the suggestion of going back on land, the vampire nods and follows along. He wanted his warm coat back.]

[Well, normally the rain would be enough to keep Yukari in the bubble; but she's been occasionally coming up to check and see if it's stopped yet. She might spend a few minutes, feeling the rain against her face-- it's nice, as long as it isn't storming or thundering. But she'll usually head back down before long.

Today's no different.

But then she spots someone in the water, so she'll move a little closer to see who it is. She looks mildly concerned for a moment, since it's Serph.

But she doesn't show it right away.]

Not exactly ideal swimming weather, y'know!

[She shouts a bit over the waves and the rain.]

[Sorry, Yukari, did you say something? Serph can't hear you over the sounds of this TOTALLY IDEAL SWIMMING WEATHER.

[Clear, sunny days are amazing and all, but Cielo enjoys a good rainy day once in a while. It reminds him of the Junkyard, the world he and the others left behind. And there's something just exhilarating about flying in the rain. So that's exactly what he's doing - zooming here and there. He's figured out exactly how far out the barrier that surrounds the island goes and no longer does he smack into it. He flies alongside it, making a huge loop around the island. When he reaches the beach, he can hear the Mosasaurs roaring. He pays no attention to it. It's not like it can catch him! He decides to descend and touch the water. But as he does, he notices there's something else notable besides the fish demon thing in the water.

Serph. Is that you? Cielo makes his way over to his dear leader and hovers above him for a moment before nudging him with his head.]

Serph's eyes are definitely open now. What is it? Can't a guy relax in the middle of the ocean while looking like a dead body?]

[And he's going to dive right into the water. When he resurfaces, Cielo is back in his human form.]

[It's the splashing from the mosasaurus that first draws Ky up and towards the water, but as soon as he sees the body floating he frowns. Oh dear.

Ky doesn't really think before plunging into the water -- his uniform was mostly soaked from the rain already, really, but it definitely hampers his movement. He still manages to draw close enough to Serph, hand reaching out to his shoulder to check -- and hope -- if he might still be alive.]

[Serph is most certainly still alive. In fact, his eyes instantly snap open the moment Ky takes hold of his shoulder. He relaxes the moment he realises it's Ky, not something else out in the water there to attack him.

He'd give Ky a greeting but that's a little more energy than he's willing to expend right now.]

Are you going swimming?

[It's dangerous out there, man.]

[Ky draws his hand back as soon as Serph opens his eyes, moving back to give him his space.]

I hadn't been planning on it.

Are you okay?

[Tidus felt tempted to watch the waves in this weather. He could have swam in them, but for now he's content to just let the rain splash off his face and shoulders. That is, until he notices Serph. What the?! He jumps in and reaches him in seconds, pulling him up.]

Serph?!

Serph's definitely alive; his eyes were instantly open the moment Tidus had grabbed him. But he relaxed when he realised it was Tidus pulling him, not some other demon in the sea wanting to eat him.]

[That's about as good a greeting he's gonna get. Serph's tired, man.]

[MOVING INTO THE WATER NOW and hopefully Serph isn't too far out because um. Yeah. Swimming skills or lack thereof! Not that that's going to stop Tiir from trying to reach him though, either way...]

[He's not all that far out, but he's far enough that Tiir would be juuust submerged if he stood on the sandy floor. Serph doesn't hear him from that distance, though, and remains floating and unmoving...]

Vanitas had taken a break from his observation to scout out places to train when he ran across this particular scene.

Is Serph lonely? Vanitas can provide him with some company. He set about gathering said company before opening a portal. The other end of the portal would appear above Serph.

Serph's eyes instantly snap open the moment a crab lands on him, and he sees a familiar portal and a bunch of familiar creatures coming out of it and Serph sure is doing a getting the hell out of the trajectory of the rest of the crabs by going underwater. While he's close to shore, he is far enough to actually dive under the water's surface without getting a face full of sand.

When Serph resurfaces, he's a bit further from the shore, but completely crab free. On the other hand, where oh where could Vanitas be? He's gotta be around here, somewhere.

...Man, why does he always have to play hide and seek with him, anyway? He's way too tired for this shit, you know!]

While talking a stroll, he notices the guy floating on the water surface... wait, that guy, he's not moving?!

[Sorry, man, did someone say something? Serph can't hear anything over the sounds of the weather. Well, that, and the fact he's got water flowing over his ears all the time from the waves, drowning out all other sound.

He could just float here all day, yep.]

[As usual, this kind of weather doesn't particularly bother Gale. He's got his hood to protect him from the rain, and he's used to it from the Junkyard. Because of that, he doesn't ignore the island at all when it rains. It's the reason he's out on the beach today, after having taken some time to practice using the knives in his boots.

He's not paying attention to the water much, but he catches a flash of gray among the waves. It's only a moment before he's hurrying forward into the waves. Serph, what even?]

Serph's just gonna keep on chillin' out here in the waves. Thankfully, he doesn't seem to be too far out. In fact, Serph's floating close enough that at the depth Gale would reach him, the water would only reach Gale's chest.]
