Maybe you notice the princess staring too long at something, or maybe you notice the Sheikah scaling new heights to investigate those hard to reach places - but Zelda is definitely on the prowl for information now that the faeries are gone. She wisely avoids the ruins of the church, but nowhere else public seems to be beyond her interest. At least she doesn't break into people's houses like the other Hylian here in Vatheon.

It wasn't Cheren that noticed Zelda at first, being so preoccupied with checking over the Pokemon he had obtained during his previous stay in Vatheon and had just recently recovered. Indeed, it was Espeon that first noticed the princess, pausing in the middle of his training to look at her. Cheren, naturally, has to check to see what exactly is distracting his Espeon, since interrupting training is a big deal, okay.

"Hey. Do you need something?"

At first she was irritated that her search was being interrupted again, but then she laid eyes on the Espeon. That has got to be the cutest. thing. EVER. She lit up as she turned to them.

"No, not in particular. May I ask what the creature with you is? Is it sentient?" She tilted her head, looking down at Espeon. It seemed intelligent, at least.

Espeon tilts his head in response, his tail swishing from side to side as he watches Zelda curiously. Since you know, new people are interesting and all that. Cheren, on the other hand, raises an eyebrow at Zelda's question. While he did know that many people in Vatheon came from different world and were unfamiliar with Pokemon, that sort of question was still sort of odd for him to hear. Pokemon were Pokemon.

"Well, of course he is," he replied. "Most Pokemon are, especially Psychic-types like Espeon."

"Psychic? How fascinating. Can you speak telepathically, Espeon?" Zelda had received telepathic messages before, and she would definitely like to refine the ability. She does seem to realize that she's interrupting something after a beat or two.

"I'm sorry, I didn't introduce myself. My name is Zelda."

Because Espeon was a non-humanoid Psychic-type, his telepathy was limited to merely transferring emotions, or simple images. Speech was beyond his capabilities. As such, despite being able to understand what Zelda asked of him, he was unable to respond in any understandable manner. Instead, he keeps his gaze trained on Zelda, only slightly nodding his head.

"Zelda? I'm Cheren. It's nice to meet you," he replied. And because the polite introductions were out of the way, "What were you doing earlier?"

Why hello there Cheren.

She offered a smile to both of them, then straightened up, tucking her hair behind her ears. "Looking around," she replied with a sigh. "Something as large as all the fairies exploding like that - I was hoping some evidence of what caused it might be left behind."
