Chapter 2 | Shenanigans and dishwashers
Who: Angelo and Lloyd Irving.
Where: Yutopil Apartments, Floor One, Apartment Six.
When: Early Afternoon.
Style: First/Action.
Status: Closed.
[After all the adjusting Angelo did such as exploring every possible inch of Vatheon, moving into Lloyd's apartment with him, and at last settling in; he felt things weren't as bad as he initially thought. His days went by as normal and everything went swimmingly. However today was a completely different story as him and his new roommate were about to discover something neither of them had ever seen before -- the entity known as a dishwasher. But before that, Angelo is sitting at the kitchen table quietly reading a book he'd found at one of the shops while waiting for Lloyd to return from wherever he was and wondering if the other had possibly picked up some food for them to eat, as the former templar wasn't exactly the best cook in the world along with his stomach growling for food before while starving.]

Thus the shopping trip. He hadn't thought to tell Angelo where he was going. It hadn't seemed important, and he'd be back soon enough. Maybe an hour later, he comes in with several bags. He spots his roommate on the way to the kitchen.]
Oh, hey, Angelo.
[He lifts one hand awkwardly, then gives up on the greeting. Yeah, it's a little hard to do that when you're still caryying very full bags.]
no subject
Oh hello Lloyd, I see you've returned and with plenty of food. I thank the Goddess for your speedy return as well. [He grabs a few of the bags from Lloyd and sets them on the kitchen table.] Now then, what types of food did you obtain for us?
1/2
Meat and potatoes, some bread. I got some milk and juice, too, and fruit and some vegetables.
[He stretches his arms out, loosening the muscles, then leans back against the counter for a moment, right in front of the door that hid what Lloyd had decided was a dish drying rack.]
Mostly stuff that's pretty easy to fix. I can cook okay, but I'm not the best at-
[The slightest shift in his stance made his backside press into the door. Something clicked and whirred to life.]
2/2
[Whirrnnnn!!!
Lloyd nearly jumps out of his skin, whirling around.]
Wh-what was that?!
no subject
Um Lloyd, I do believe that thing you call a drying rack is making those strange noises. It sounds as if it has been possessed by an evil spirit or was possibly brought to life because of said evil. We should try and be rid of it before the evil comes for us.
no subject
You think the drying rack is possessed?!
[He jumps again when the machine shifts gears, the noise of drawing in water changing to the noise of spinning machinery and heavy spray. The sounds only seem to punctuate his question.]
How do we get it unpossessed then?!
no subject
The only way is to destroy it and I know just what to do. Lloyd, get out of the kitchen now so I can handle this.
no subject
I can fight, too. We don't know what we're up against. It's better if we face it together.
no subject
I'd rather not have you in my way and getting hurt, but if you must. You go for it first and I'll follow your lead.
no subject
What if we both went at once? You any good at unison attacks?
[He's already drawing on his mana, concentrating.]
no subject
I've never heard of unison attacks where I am from, but there is one thing I can do. [Angelo quickly casts an Oomph spell in his own fashion on the young swordsman, which in turn makes Lloyd feel a surge of power flow through him that makes it so his attacking abilities have doubled in power.]
no subject
Unison attacks are just where two people combine both their powers or attack at the same time to make an extra strong attack. Whatever you did, I think that counts. Now, watch this! Demon Fang!
[In one fluid move, he slashes up, then down, letting his mana lash out in an extremely powerful shock wave. The mana races across the kitchen, tearing up tiles in its wake, then slams into the dishwasher.
Whhmm!
The explosion rocks the room, water spraying and sparks flying as smoke fills the air.]
no subject
I put the Oomph spell on you, it's quite handy in battle. [He looks at the now broken dishwasher and the now destroyed kitchen.] And it would seem as though we damaged the kitchen in our efforts of destroying the possessed drying rack.
no subject
Yeah, looks like we did. That thing definitely picked the wrong guys to mess with - but I guess we're going to have to eat out for a while. I think I got the sink, too, so we won't be able to do dishes until I get that fixed.
[He's so used to having to do repairs on the house with just himself and his Dad that it doesn't occur to him to hire someone else, or speak to apartment management.]
no subject
I don't mind eating out so it's not any skin off my nose if we do, I'm used to traveling to various places and never staying at one place in particular. I'll leave you to repairing the kitchen too, since it seems to be your field of expertise.
no subject
First I better figure out how to turn the water off. I don't think there's anything you can do anyway, so...
[So, yeah. Probably better if Angelo stays out of the way.]
no subject
no subject
I'll try to make it fast.
[With that, he gets to work, familiarizing himself with the plumbing.]
no subject
Oh no need to rush for my sake, Lloyd. I can always take one later and I'm more starving than anything else.
no subject
[Half under the sink, his voice is muffled, and somewhat distracted. As soon as Angelo leaves, he'll concentrate fully on the task at hand.]
no subject
You know Lloyd, I should take you to the casino one of these days and we can meet some lovely ladies there. It will be my treat too, so don't worry.
no subject
[He's pretty sure he remembers someone saying there was a casino in Altamira, but he'd never gotten around to visiting it. It had been more important to look for Raine, and then after they'd found her, well, here he was.]
no subject
What do you do at a casino? You gamble, drink, and meet beautiful showgirls, my young friend. It's quite an enjoyable experience and I know for a fact you'll enjoy every minute of it.
no subject
So, it's pretty much like a party, with lots of games and people to talk to? Sure, that sounds like fun!
[Unfortunately, it's time to poke his head back under the sink.]
I'll let you know when I'm done with this, then.
no subject
Yes, that's exactly what it's like. When you've finished with the sink, we can head there.
no subject
I'll look forward to it!
[With new enthusiasm for the job ahead, Lloyd starts back on the work under the sink.]
[ooc: That sounds like a good place to stop for now. We can throw up a new log when I get home from work. <3]
