[Tsubaki doesn't exactly know why she's decided to come here again, this 'Nostalgia Nook' place. But to get here, she's had to fend off a lot of natives trying to get her to participate in this "Fishlympics," so she's damn well going to make the most of it.

It's interesting to her, at least-- and she knows that somewhere, there should be a store that has items she is familiar with. But if she's going to find it, it certainly won't be on her own.

...

Case in point: she seems to have gotten sidetracked by a store with a very large bear in front of it. And there she is, in the back where a very colorful set of glasses are being sold. Pink, blue, yellow...probably even more subtle color differences that she can't even quite tell.

There's one that gets her attention the most, though. And even though all of the others look normal and harmless, she tilts her head and grabs this particular one, out of some twisted burning curiosity. It stands out, after all. It's different.

And she...actually slips it on.

...]

Ridiculous.

[Why does it have a nose-- or a mustache for that matter?!

She has no idea. Because she's never seen glasses like these, and hmpth, they don't even improve her vision. So she is taking them off now, before someone sees her.

[Kurow has racked up a lot of tokens from the locals for helping out in preparation of the Fisholympics (which, for the record, he is not at all interested in participating in since most of the activities involve, ugh, water). After asking about where he might spend them, he's directed to the Nostalgia Nook, where he takes in the motley bunch of shops as he wanders.

One case of wandering leads him into the shop with the large, weird looking bear, and he takes a moment looking around. When he's decided that there's really nothing he cares for here, he turns, only to be greeted with the sight of this -- girl? -- someone with a frightful face. Geez, what the heck is that? But the "surprise" is short-lived when he sees the person remove the glasses, thereby revealing her now oh so beautiful face, and he leans in from the corner to get a better look -- ]

Hu . . . wow, you're gorgeous!

[ . . . He just said that out loud, didn't he.]

[Serph is in the Nostalgia Nook, on his way to the Vendor to buy more Dis-Aches, when he passes by a strange store. Hm. He doesn't actually spend much time checking out stores other than the Vendor but he feels oddly drawn to this one. Maybe it's the charm of the person that stands in front of it...?

Either way, when he enters, he sees a stranger, he silently draws near, curious about what she's doing, but not quite approaching just yet. He doesn't understand the purpose of the objects she's standing by, and just tilts his head when he hears "Ridiculous."

He casts his gaze back at the objects, before finally approaching her. Reaching over to pick out a pair of sunglasses with a yellow tiger striped frame, he silently holds it out to the stranger.]

[ the entire 'fisholympics' affair was certainly a hassle, and he'd already turned down four offers on his way down here. the natives certainly believed obsessive persistence equaled success, that was for sure— this actually reminds him of someone else, but yeah no time to make flowery analogies since that is almost certainly tsubaki sees. her appearance was unique enough to stand out, so there was no mistaking it. he's approaching and just about to greet her, but—

............ah. those glasses. he won't laugh at least..! but.. definitely staring. blinking— once, twice..

okay, still not laughing, but definitely smiling by now. ]

[...Yes. Yes, he did.

And while Tsubaki's eyesight might not be the greatest, her hearing is quite good to make up for it. She hadn't really noticed the small child standing nearby, but once he speaks, she's looking down at him, eyes narrowed. Scrutinizing.

There's a tilt of her head as she returns the glasses monstrosities back where they belong.]

You...are referring to me?

[And it isn't surprise in her voice, but rather...genuine confusion.]

[Her eyesight is poor enough that, with Serph's silent approach, she doesn't really notice him. At all, really. And though keeping her guard up is something she is used to doing around familiars and strangers alike, she is hardly doing so now. She's been concerned with the little things-- like placing this monstrosity back on its display where it belongs.

...Maybe Vatheon's peace has softened her.

She sees the bright yellow of the glasses the stranger is holding, before seeing the stranger himself; and she takes a step back when she realizes. Her gaze goes from said glasses, back to him again.

...did he want her to take it?]

I-- I didn't realize I was being watched.

It is indeed a brilliant deduction, though Tsubaki would be a little more impressed if she hadn't already figured it out for herself. She is a bit surprised to find she is in his company all of a sudden as well-- but she is luckily familiar enough with his voice and everything about him that it doesn't throw her too far off her guard.

She simply removes the "glasses" with a sigh, and shakes her head.]

It would appear not. And their design is just...insulting.

[Ugh! She does not comprehend.]

[Thankfully being small has an advantage to weaving around and avoiding any locals that might have tried to get him invested in their silly "fisholympics". Though Reisuke hasn't decided yet if he actually cares about whatever the heck is going on now--it sounds a little interesting, but he needs to stop getting so side-tracked on his goals right now. How is he ever supposed to be ready to deal with Yuno if he keeps getting distracted by...oh, that's a weird looking bear in the window there. Huh...

...Well okay, maybe this store is worth looking into for a second. So when he opens the door to step inside, he ends up spotting a familiar face! ...Or, well, what appears to be a familiar face, as those are some pretty stupid glasses she's wearing. Yeah, sorry, Tsubaki, you're too late, you've already been spotted and you're getting giggled at.]

[Oh. She heard him, too.

As she indulges in confusion, Kurow takes the chance to recover a little, though his words take a bit longer to do the same as he stutters.]

Uh . . . yeah. [Show face, show face! He steps out from the corner and straightens, squarnig his shoulders and putting a fist to his chest.] I mean, who else is around with a face as pretty as yours? I sure don't see anyone!

[Serph gives her a small nod both in greeting and in apology. Did that make her feel uncomfortable?

Well, either way...]

[And he offers those glasses again.]

[There's a soft chuckle from behind Tsubaki as Zelos catches her reflection in the little mirror used to see how the glasses look when someone tries them on.]

[ he tries, really. and now he's looking through the assortment himself with noticeable scrutiny. it doesn't take very long before he pulls out an excellent frame with myopic lenses from the selection— he'll even slip them on for her. ]

[The idea that he...seems to be complimenting her still kind of foreign to her. But regardless, she can't just brush off his kindness, even from a young boy--

So she cracks a bit of a smile.]

...Well, thank you.

[It's a smile that she uses a lot, to hide the contempt and bitterness she holds for the world. But today it's a little more genuine.]

I'm afraid these didn't quite do me justice.

[And she motions a hand over to the ridiculous glasses she's just put down.]

[A little, but it isn't his fault. She isn't very trusting around new people; though she is used to putting up a facade, so once she's taken note that he's there, she is a little less skittish.

She takes the glasses with a tilt of her head.]

Well, she slips them on slowly. It's a shame they still don't do anything for her vision.]

The yellow is a bit bright though, isn't it?

[Oh, he's putting them on for her--

She hadn't expected that. She almost moves back a little, but seeing what he's trying to do, she stays still until the red frames are on properly-- her eyes closed. She adjusts them a little; the person who's wearing the glasses knows best, after all, how to make them sit comfortably. And then she opens her eyes again to see the world as it's meant to be.]

[...It's odd.

It feels unnatural at first-- though maybe not in a bad way-- from the sensation of the something resting on her ears, to how crisp and clear everything seems to be.

Is this...really the Unseen World she'd grown to hate?

She doesn't know what to think.

She doesn't know what to say, but she is clearly reacting, eyes wide and curious as she looks around. And she bites her lip a little, because her breathing has gotten a little more heavy than she's comfortable with.

It almost feels...too good to be true.]

She doesn't see Reisuke right away anyway, but she does hear the giggling. And once the joke glasses are off, she defensively turns to its source.

She may not be able to see him all that well, but she is familiar enough with him that it doesn't take her long to figure out who he is. So instead of being embarrassed, she cracks a smile with him, acting like she isn't bothered.]

Rei-kun. Did you follow me?

Not at all!

[She steps back from the mirror upon seeing that familiar blur head of red hair-- though of course this means she almost collides right into him.

She turns around before that happens, though, now standing in very close proximity. Whoops.]

I-- I do hope you're joking.

[And though there is a smile to mimic his, her tone is firm.

She quickly takes the joke glasses off, with a rub of her nose.]

[He shakes his head] No, I just saw the bear and wanted to see what was in here, but...

[But then he's laughing again] You looked so silly with those glasses, Tsubakinee-chan!

[...Aha. Yes, she knows.

And she's laughing because she knows-- silly, ridiculous. Same difference, really.]

I did, didn't I? You would look just as silly, I'm sure; though they'd be a bit big on you.

[A white lie. She's pretty right now, so she's passable with something so stupid and ugly on that lovely face. It's twisted logic, but it works.

The smile emboldens him, and Kurow whips out his flute to twirl it, as per his habit.]

So, uh, you lookin' to correct your sight or something? You might want to try a different pair.

[ It's not a surprise Yukiteru finds himself wandering into his store. As of late, anything to do to keep his mind off of actually being here helped the circumstance, and this place was a step closer to home.

So once stepping inside his eyes wandered through the different and assorted items. Ah, too many people today. Maybe if he moved more to the back-

-and that's where he saw it. ]

... Huh?

[ He had to do a double take. Once, twice even for his gaze to focus. Could that really be Tsubaki? No, someone was a little different about her.

Did she cut her hair?

sfjkbsg Ah okay but pulling his attention elsewhere by pulling out a pair of glasses at random and sticking them on his face. He doesn't want to say her name if it really wasn't her!

Heh. These glasses are pretty... neat, right?

[He sets a hand on her shoulder just long enough to steady her after running into him then removes it so he doesn't make her clam up.]

Of course it's a joke! Those things are a crime against fashion. I do think some glasses would do you good, though. Maybe you won't have so much trouble running into things.

[He's definitely noticed, he's just been too polite until now to mention it.]

[I don't think we'd really like them--at least, we certainly wouldn't want to be caught dead wearing them anyway.]

Hahaha, yeah--we should look for way cooler glasses to be wearing than those! Like...um... [One moment, looking around a little bit more before he spies what looks like some normal looking glasses sitting somewhere up above him that he gestures at with one of his handpuppets] Oh, what about those ones?

[Serph takes a moment to regard the stranger's new look. Hm. It is a bit bright. It makes her look a bit like a Solid, though she doesn't have the right kind of hair to fit in with them. And a distinct lack of odd speech patterns.

He slowly nods; he agrees with her assessment. His gaze goes back to the rows of glasses -- oh so they're just for appearance? -- before pointing out a pair with a metallic red frame, to match her clothes.]

[Oh.

...She's being spoken to. She doesn't even realize this at first, let alone the fact that it's someone she happens to know. But she catches on quickly enough and turns to face him, seeing the blur of blue across his face.

...

She would say that's not him at all, she doesn't know him-- but his voice is unmistakable.]

Yukiteru-kun. You've found a pair too, I see.
