Who: Kimblee and you!
When: July 1st
Where: In the plaza
Status: Open
Style: either one, I'll follow!
[Yeah.
Coming to in an underwater city soaked to the bone after a little slip down in the mines was definitely something Kimblee wasn't expecting. Especially after he just recently stopped the bleeding from the cut clear across his right palm--he'd have to get that bandaged now that it started up again. Instead of doing the logical thing and use the SFC in his pocket to attempt to contact someone, he just stood up to and removed his scarf and coat to hang it over one of the branches of the massive glowing coral that sat a few feet away before he turned his attention to the city around him.
It was definitely something he never expected, let alone imagined.]
Well, looks like I'm taking another detour on this job.

...Kimblee. Welcome to Vatheon.
[A pause, and then a small gesture toward the bleeding hand.] What happened to your hand?
no subject
[Now wasn't this a surprise? To actually find someone he recognized as soon as he arrived--talk about luck. Well, sort of. Though now he had the name of the city, it still didn't answer how he ended up here.
At Roy's question, he turned his hand over with a light frown.] Just a minor accident.

[Now just excuse him for one minute while he crosses the plaza to snatch a couple towels from one of the store fronts for just this situation. One he presses into Kimblee's bloody hand to serve as a makeshift bandage, the other he holds onto for the moment until Kimblee's more ready for it.]
I arrived here around almost a month ago, there's no apparent way out of here I've learned. So we're both stuck here for the time being.

[He raises a brow at the action before he wraps the towel around his hand a bit. Sheesh Roy, worried much? It's just a papercut.
Except not really.]
Is that so? That's a shame. I do have to wonder though... What happened to your hand? Is that from here or a similar accident?

[He glanced briefly at the back of his right hand. It was well on its way to healing, but it was somewhat rather obvious. Likely he'd always carry the scars from that little trick on the back of his hand.]
It happened just before I was brought here. I got into a rather tight situation you could say and needed the circle. [And obviously his usual gloves had gotten ruined beyond his ability to use them.]
no subject
[Nnnnot really his best moment.]
It's a shame that nurses have a tendency to gossip in the hallway. I can only hope that word of mouth didn't stretch the truth too far. Seems like we'll both have some scarring, save for it being in different places.

Yes, I have to say I'm rather impressed you made such a fast recovery from what sounded like a rather severe injury and frostbitten on top of it all. Makes one envious of your powers of recovery.
no subject
[Yep, let's just staaaaaay away from the subject of his recovery. It's nunya.]
no subject
I believe so yes. You won't have to worry about paying for it though, nearly everything here is given to us for free.

[Best really to try and keep the man where he can watch him for the most part, considering the place is under water, he wouldn't want for Kimblee to get itchy palms should something within the city happen to offend the man.]

[Especially in the future, oopsies.]

It shouldn't be possible, but it apparently is.]

[He reaches for the towel to lightly tug it out of Roy's grip with a sigh.]
And for goodness sake give me this before you hurt yourself.

It's apparently capable of cursing people. Turning people into things not human and giving them abilities they do not normally possess...for example. It seems to be a common thing to happen to judge from what I've heard about them. Fortunately neither I, nor Riza were affected by the one which has happened since we've been here.
Also it seems some people can and do randomly fall into a sleep so deep they can not be roused from it and you are forced to wait for them to awake from it themselves. Riza fell into one of those shortly after we arrived here and was sleeping for around two weeks straight before she woke up.

Don't leave me hanging here. Tell me more about these curses first.
no subject
All I know is second hand, but they seemingly happen at random these days, the effects seem to last around a week and then reverse themselves or fade away, leaving everything back to the way it was before the curse hit.

There is one other thing I've heard mentioned though... that those brought here act as a power source for this city...
[That bit still unnerves him really, even if he's not really showed it to anyone. It reminds him too much of that damned red stone really.]
no subject
[Okay, that's one thing he doesn't really like the sound of.]
That might be the reason why clothing and other things are free.
no subject
[Have a look at his right palm, Kimblee. You'll see something which is rather obviously not a transmutation circle gracing it.]

then to Roy's.

...Well.

I can show you the cleaners, a good bakery and a tailor on the way to my house if you want.

That would be appreciated.

An earthling, for a change. Ah, well...]
Welcome to Vatheon, earthling.

Running into a chimera was something he was somewhat unprepared for. Sure, he had the four bodyguards back home, but this wasn't Amestris where hearing of a chimera was (to a point) somewhat common. He's seen a lion-human chimera, a gorilla-human, even a frog-human, but never has he seen one that has been spliced with a duck. Seriously. This is sort of...
Weird.
Especially that 'earthling' bit.]
Ah... Thank you.

I see that my appearance surprises you... you are yet another who has never heard of the mighty Evronian Empire.
[He lowers his head in defeat.]
Very well. But soon enough, our name shall resonate through the galaxies, seizing hearts in the grip of fear... no one will be able to remain ignorant of us then.
lalala
[Said the helmet boy on the bench that is on the other side of the coral.]

ohai
[Because he sure doesn't feel like drowning today. Who knows what that barrier can stand?]
hey good looking :D
Choices. Choices.]
There is an elevator up to the surface, but the situation is a repeat. Would think they would want to change it up just to keep their guests from dying of boredom.

Go get eaten by it. :D]
Empty buildings and lots of sand. [That get's in a lot of weird places, man.]
no subject
Well, now if that isn't familiar I don't know what is. [True that.]

You have an odd taste of prime vacation spots.
no subject
Vacation? Oh, no. It just brings back some fond memories.

"The Xing"...?
[A sigh.]
As for what is so important about us, know that for several months of the Earth year 2004, all of Earth was under my control and close to being annexed to the Empire.
