Tieria was trying to avoid most people, keeping his head down, doing his thing. He was hoping to get to the library, get a book, and get back to the apartment before anyone noticed him. That might be hard as the purple Haro he'd been given for Christmas was following him along. Still, once he'd figured out what was going on, he'd been trying to keep his mouth shut.

Yeah, right, Tieria. Do you really think you could hide from this one? Selphie's in the plaza too, all fresh and awake from having been in a coma so long. And then she spies Haro and smiles, before rushing her way over.

"Hi Tieria! Hi Haro! Did you guys miss me?"

"Selphie." He was surprised to see her. Haro bounced at her for a hug.

"Selphie! Selphie! Hello!"

"You've been missing," he said. "I was worried about you." Oh goodness, there he went again, spouting things off. At least this wasn't as bad as what he told that weird man with the screw in his head who disected squittens.

Selphie smiled, happily snuggling Haro up into a cuddle, "Hello you two!" She giggled at the little robot before turning to Tieria with a bright smile.

"Really? You were?" This was probably the curse, she figured. Probably? Still, she'd let Haro go and it definitely warranted a hug, so she stepped over to Tieria for his own.

"I'd just fallen asleep...For a while!"

Oh... hug?

"I really feel uncomfortable with hugs." Well, not all the time, but he just wasn't a very physical person about that kind of stuff. Affection and all that was just odd for him. He never really had very much of it. Still, though. That felt so... rude. "I am sorry. I should not have said that." He frowned a bit. "I am uncertain why I am unable to stop myself from saying things."

"Talking lots! Talking lots!"

Selphie shuffled back from Tieria then, blushing a little at the though of causing so much awkward with him. "Oh... I'm sorry.."

"Don't worry - I guess it's just the curse." She smiled brightly at Tieria before smiling at Haro.

"Is he noisier than usual, huh?"

"Noisy! Noisy! Tieria noisy!"

"Haro." Yes, that was a scolding tone there. And it got the robot to stay still for a moment. Tieria needed to focus here so he didn't blurt anything else out by mistake. He'd done enough damage.

"A curse?" he asked. "You mean like a magic spell? Those only exist in storybooks."

Selphie blinked as Tieria scolded Haro, and while the robot was still, she moved an arm to hold the thing closer for a moment.

"Something like that but -" Oh gosh, that's got Selphie giggling, "Magic is real, Tieria!"

"It is not in my world," he insisted, sounding a bit stubborn. "Magic spells are ridiculous anyway." He crossed his arms. "Besides, what would be the purpose of a curse like this? Are they merely after our secrets?"

Selphie couldn't help but turn to Haro then and roll her eyes a little, but she looked sharply back at Tieria at that word 'ridiculous'. Her eyes narrowed and she crossed her arms tightly, "They are not. They are important and useful and good. And I bet they don't even care about your secrets."

That was just her way of saying no, y'know, after he insulted magic, which was very close and dear to her.

"Perhaps. It does not exist in my world." He hadn't meant to be mean about it. Those kinds of things were things he kept to himself, of course, and he suddenly felt obligated to explain himself. "It is not logical."

"Well, it exists in mine and I think it makes perfect sense."

She unfolded her arms and glanced around them, trying to think of something that she could do that would seem at least interesting. So she just decided to cast a blizzard spell at whatever the nearest inanimate object was.

Okay, that got a reaction. And it was a pretty high level of shock. He backed up.

"What was the trick?" he demanded quickly. There had to be a trick. Magic was loaded with tricks of light and distraction.

Selphie just laughed, like she was doing something super mischievous.

"The trick is in here!" And Selphie tapped the side of her head, then looked confused and tapped at her chest over heart. It was somewhere. And just to show off all the more, she melts the remaining ice with a fire spell.

He pulled back a little more. Flames from nowhere wasn't a good thing for someone who spent most of his life in outerspace. It was like fire on a ship, but without the ability to jump into the water to escape.

"That's... impossible..." He just didn't want to believe it.

Selphie just laughed at that and shook her head, resting her hand lightly on Tieria's arm.

"Does it LOOK or FEEL impossible to you? Really?"

Well, no, it didn't, but... this was really something awkward and difficult for him to wrap his mind around.

"It's... I just..." He shook his head. He needed some time to figure this out.

"Weird! Weird!"

How can she do anything but laugh, really? She giggled between her two friends.

"It's not weird, Haro. Just different! People in my world would think that YOU'RE weird. That would be strange for you, right?"

And she petted the purple thing on its head, waiting to see if Tieria had changed his mind yet.

"Haro strange? Haro not strange!"

It was going to take a bit more than that to change Tieria's mind. He needed to process this first. Sorry, Selphie. Tieria just sort of vaguely nodded. "Yes. I suppose things from other worlds are strange."

"You're right, Haro! You're not strange. You're perfectly cute!"

Selphie smiled affectionately at the purple ball before transfering a more amused expression across to Tieria, "So maybe at first things do seem weird. But actually, they might just take a little getting used to. And when you do, you realise how cool it is!"

Tieria didn't do 'cool', but he'd just let her go with that for now.

"We'll see." After all, it wasn't any good if he couldn't use anyway. It was only good for people who could. So, he wasn't really completely decided on this, and it was going to take some time. It was too foreign otherwise.

"I probably should go," he said. Before he blurted out anything else that was regrettable.

"Oh... okay." Yeah, Selphie's taken that a little personally. Most people really liked her magic, even if it did seem weird at first. It was, essentially, her job and something she'd spent so long perfecting, so it hurt a little to see it snubbed.

But, of course, she smiled brightly regardless, "Well...I guess I'll see you soon, right?"

He looked a little regretful, but he couldn't lie about this. It was kind of a big thing, and he felt uncomfortable about it. If he said he was okay and then reacted badly lately to something, she'd catch on.

"Yes." He nodded. "I think, we had mentioned something about dinner?"

Selphie brightened up at the mention of dinner and she nodded her head, "Uh huh! You still wanna cook for me?" Because that would be good - if he still wanted to be friends, even if he thought she was a weirdo.

"Yes," he said. "I will not go back on my word." Even if it had been her idea in the first place. He did still agree to it.

"Selphie visit! Selphie visit!"

"Great! I'm really looking forward to it!" Selphie smiled quite happily and turned to nod at Haro, "I can't wait to come visit you, Haro!"

Tieria nodded, actually smiling just a little in return. "Very well. In a few days time, then."

Yay! A Tieria smile! This brightens Selphie up considerably, "Sure! I can't wait!"

He nodded a little.

"I will see you then."

[Goddesses have mercy. Zelda had had much the same idea - run to the library at top speed and grab some books, then hide with them. She'd transformed into Sheik for the occasion so that a gag could be worn without it looking strange.

And there was someone that was definitely on the list of people Sheik did NOT want to run into again with this ridiculous curse going! He hid behind a stack of books on instinct, fretting about how to get out of the library and forgetting entirely that he had many ways to do so.]

[Too bad for Shiek that Tieria was very perceptive. Maybe it was those Quantum Brainwaves or Innovade senses. Either way, he had the feeling he wasn't alone, and turned just in time to catch a glimpse of movement behind a stack of books. His hands tightened on the book in his hand.

Oh dear.

He clenched his jaw for a moment, keeping his mouth as shut as possible, but...]

I want to know who's there.

[Damn it.]

[And of course, Sheik blurted out his name - his real one, not "Sheik". It was muffled by the gag and not intelligible, but he was still kicking himself for it when he emerged from behind the stack, holding his hands up in a gesture of peace. Taking the gag out would be a terrible idea, so hopefully Tieria didn't want to chat.]

[Not really chat, but he was maybe a little relieved to see it was Sheik. He hadn't understood the response, though.]

Is everything alright?

[Sheik nods, making muffled sounds. It sounds vaguely like he said he has fantasies about becoming a... something. It wasn't clear. He bends to pick up his book stack. Got to get home.]

[Tieria frowned. Was something wrong with his voice?]

Has something happened to your voice? It worries me a little. [Too much information. No one needed to know that.]

[Sheik takes out the gag for just a moment. He's blurted enough out now that he should be safe for a little bit.]

I am trying to counteract the effects of the curse. It would be troublesome if I revealed anything classified.

[Oh... that made sense.]

I see. I can understand that. I have said quite a bit more than I wanted to myself. Like the fact that I am not human. [Oh, damn... there it was again. He visibly tensed, closing his eyes for a moment and ducking his head.] It was why I had come here. I had hoped I would not meet many people here.

[Sheik could certainly sympathize with hoping people weren't here!]

Do not worry, I don't plan on gossiping. I am not human, either.

[It was no big deal to Sheik. There were so many races in Hyrule, and humans were actually rather uncommon.]

[That got a somewhat surprised look. Tieria wasn't used to a lot of non-humans. In fact, the reason it was such a big deal for him was because he was supposed to come across as passibly human to protect his identity.]

You are not?

I am Hylian.

[Sheik moves the wrap on his head slightly, revealing pointed ears. He wouldn't have dreamed of doing that before Dark Link showed up, but now that he wasn't the only Hylian in the city... why not?]

It is not so uncommon in Vatheon for people to not be human, so don't worry about it.

[Pointed ears. He'd seen that on others here before. Though, not many.]

I suppose. I have only met one other would I could say does not appear to be so. I find her to be very interesting. [Oh... that might be a little bit of a blush there.]

[Sheik blushes up to his ears and promptly stuffs the gag in his mouth and pulls his mask back up, waving with a jerky motion. Good day, Tieria. So nice to see you again. He throws a nut to the ground, but he's flustered enough that he forgot to vanish along with the flash of light. He just... walks off after that.]

[Was that a blush? And Tieria blinked, rubbing his eyes at the flash for a moment, but confused as he watched Sheik walk away. Had he said something wrong? Damn curse...]
