Sitting in the Summer Sun

[ A day before the big event a text message goes out to everyone who responded to this post letting them know when the day is going to be! But Sora's not the best with technology so a few other people probably got it as well. ]

HEY EVERYONE! I SAID WE SHOULD ALL GET TOGETHER AT THE BEACH, SO LETS DO IT TODAY! MEET ME AT THE BEACH AND BRING SOME FOOD OR DRINKS ALONG TO SHARE! HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!

[ Sora's waiting on the beach with a grin on his face. He's already in a pair of swim trunks and there's a huge blanket set up a ways back where they can put the food. It looks like Sora had the sense to brings some forks, plates, and cups so they'll have something to eat off of too. ]

Hey Katsu!

[ He grins over at their friend, though he was of course more Riku's than Sora's. Not that Sora knew just how much more of a friend he was. ]

What's up?

[ He wrapped his arms loosely around Riku before letting go a few moments later. The grin on his face was huge and bright as the sun. Obviously someone was having a good time. ]

Not much. Trying to walk on water. Failing.

[He heads over to Riku and ruffles his hair a bit. You okay there?]

Trying not to laugh at the failing.

[K-Katsu, not in front of his best friend, okay? They have a partial-Disney contract...!

He chuckles, batting the hand away and muttering a 'cut it out.' ...Yeah, he's fine.]

[ Sora tilts his head at the exchange. It was almost unlike Riku. When had he ever let someone do that? Well maybe with the exception of Sora or Kairi on a good day. ]

...

[ Well Riku had been here longer so it was probably nothing, and they were just close friends now! ]

Why did you think you could walk on water?

One of my titles is 'messiah'. The most well known could walk on water, so I wanted to see if I could too.

[He just grins a bit at the headtilting.]

[There was a reason he batted the hand away. Besides, it was Sora's party and he rather not start something ~~yet~~. Instead, he smirks.]

I think he might have had a different power, Katsu.

[Just an idea, because everything varies. ...Even though he has no idea about all of the stories from Katsu's world.]

There's someone who can do that?

[ Sora just kinda stares. It sounds like it'd be a cool trick. ]

Supposedly there used to be.

[He will embarrass you yet, bf.]

I should have figured it wouldn't work, though. Oh well. At least I can run fast.

Hey not being able to walk on water isn't so bad!

[ Sora has a brilliant idea then. ]

Really? I bet you're not as fast as I am.

[ Was that a challenge? ]</small.

[... Sora, you know not what you have unleashed.]

Really. You think so? Do you want to test that, then?

[... Uh oh. It's them as young teens again. Riku chuckles under his breath.]

Need a ref, then? [Wait, WHEN DID HE TAKE OVER THIS JOB FOR KAIRI?]

Nope! [ Sora grinned at Riku. ]

Because you're racing too!

[ Sora took off at a run down the beach. Yeah it was a cheap trick, but Riku did it all the time when they were kids, and if Katsu was as good as he said he was it shouldn't be a problem at all! ]

[Oh is that how it's gonna be? Katsu grins, and starts counting, just to make this a little more fair.]

One. Two. Three!

[He takes off, dashing down the beach at superhuman speed in a mini-explosion of sand, nearing Sora. He's probably gonna pass him soon if he doesn't speed up a lot!]

[He didn't wait for the three to take off after Sora. Yep, he pretty much called that move. They always pulled it on each other when Kairi wasn't around (the poor fools).

That was when he saw that burst of speed and began to wonder if using a certain skill would be considered cheating...]

[ Sora's eyes widen as Katsu catches up. He hadn't expected him to be that fast! There's still a bit more speed to get out of his legs though and he kicks it up a notch!

[ And don't even think about it Riku. ]

[Outrunning demons does that for you! He just laughs and runs faster, not even caring that it probably isn't fair at this point - he's just running for the sheer joy of it.]

[Nope, too late. He thought about it, considered, and made a choice.

Riku's suddenly right beside Sora, still running at the same pace. How? Well, Sora probably already knows the answer- Katsu!]

You know, I think he might have an advantage to us, Sora.

[ That's cheating Riku! Not that Sora wasn't considering it himself. He laughs though and just keeps running to feel the sand and surf against him. ]

I think you have a point!

[Katsu slows down a little to match their pace, grinning.]

I probably should have warned you I'm not entirely a normal human.

[Hey, you cheated too Sora. Don't give him any that! He chuckles at them both, shaking his head. What will he ever do with you two?]

Little late for that, don't you think?

[ Whatever~ Sora just laughs as he catches up with Katsu. He reaches down and quickly scoops up some water to splash Katsu. ]

Thanks for the warning!

[Katsu sputters, and goes to start splashing Sora - and then goes to grab Riku to dunk him in the water.]

[Nope, the dunking has been denied. Riku's already in the water, trying to splash the both of them. THERE IS NO DUNKING THE RIKU. NOT EVEN MICKEY MOUSE COULD ACCOMPLISH THIS FEAT. o9]

[ It's not going to stop Sora from trying! Not if he teams up with Katsu to bring him down! ]

[What if he grabs you in a bear hug and tries to pick you up? What then, Riku? What. Then.]
