a ship and a ball of rage + tea and baking
Who: Karkat and the Psiioniic
Where: Karkat's hive
When: May 29th, middle of the night
Style: Action
Status: Closed
[Yesterday may not have been the best day Karkat's ever had, but at least it wasn't the worst, for all it made him wish brain bleach was a real thing. What happened? Best not to ask. But in the time since then, he has settled in mind and stomach, and put his thoughts to other tasks. Like that meeting with the Psiioniic.]
[So it's taken a bit longer than he thought it might. Call it stuff coming up or what have you, but through talk and planning he has finally gotten around to asking the older troll over. So what if it's the middle of the night? He's up whenever, and Psii seemed to have no issue. And anyway, in the time between asking and inviting, he's gotten down that method a certain tea-loving old man taught him to make the beverage.]
[Eridan is out, his sleep schedule not as sleepless as Karkat's but still sparing, thereby leaving the hive for him and his guest. The kitchen is clean and cleared of clutter, save what he needs for tea making. As for what they'll need for the baking, he's asked the Psiioniic to bring it along, since he'd know better. Not like it would be difficult, between the power behind his title and a sylladex.]
[For now, all that's left is to wait for his arrival.]

[There's stuff for tea-making set off to the side, and on the whole the kitchen is clean and well-organized. Karkat is very strict about no wands (fake or otherwise) in the thermal hull, and perhaps surprisingly prone to keeping things in their proper places besides. The only reason he's warmed up to piles are in the context of pale feelings jams, and that took Gamzee's efforts; outside such things, the only ones in the house would be relegated to Eridan's room.]
Now what do we need? Bowls, measuring stuff, pans?

[ He hesitates again. By the end of this, Karkat's patience was going to be tested in a very thorough way. ]
Concave meathuring devitheth. A rectangular glasth cooking vesthel. Weighted thylindrical handled roller.
[ Measuring spoons and cups, a glass cooking dish, and a rolling pin. (Though he has some of those stashed away elsewhere in his sylladex if it becomes necessary.) He doesn't move from his spot, but he does use his psionics snag a sponge by the sink and turn the water on. With a meticulous care, he scrubs down the counter and neatly squeegees the water that remains with his mind to create an ideal preparatory surface. ]

Dude, it's fine.
[Then he starts listing things - with troll terms! Recipes and cookbooks he's found always use the human ones, short and to the point as they are, but still foreign. As did the man who taught him, John's father, for obvious reasons. This makes for a nice change. He of course has all of them with the many months it's been since he got into the hobby, and the only halt in retrieving them is waiting for a clean, dry bit of counter to put it all on. Measuring things, glass dish, rolling pin, in order.]
There. Do they all look fine for this?
[He can't imagine why they wouldn't, but...]

[ As he says this, he indicates each item brought along. ]

Got it. Hand me the flour and I'll measure that out while you heat the water. Do you need a pot for that or can your weird brain powers do it for you?
