[For most of the day, well into the night, Darkleer spends his time away from the hive and just catching his breath. Dealing with others is quite honestly overrated. It's a relief to just spend time in the park and staying by himself.]

[Well, not entirely by himself. Dural's white form is clear as moonlight as she flies through the air above the park, and seeing it helps calm him a little.]

[Eventually, he checks the time and whistles for her. She follows high above as he ventures into the forest, remembering the way from the last time he had to find the Summoner.]

[Summoner's back from his date from Izaya and more so just relaxing in his hive before going out. His eyes watch the sky as he stares out of a window in the tree hive and he soon takes a deep breath, pushing on his knees a little as he stands up. Aradia isn't home right now, which is good, he's not sure he'd be comfortable drinking with her around, though, Summoner's sure she'd be fine hitting the sack on her own. Aradia was reliable like that, ever since she started staying with him here and there. Summoner didn't really... know what he'd do without her company sometimes. He didn't like being alone at all, which he was reminded of when he came home after the date, came home to an empty house. He hated his life here without the fan fair of his men, the songs and stories of the camp grounds. It was something he'd continue missing.]

[So sitting around a fire and drinking with someone? Yeah, that... that was nice, he was already thinking about his times back on Alternia and the liquor hadn't even started flowing. Though, this is the first time he's drank one on one with someone in a while, and first time it's ever been with someone of Darkleer's caste standing. Not to mention the first time he's ever drank while influenced by whatever the hell this curse was. The alcohol would make it easier; easier to blame liquor, plus it'd make any more unneeded confessions a lot less awkward.]

[Summoner makes his way to the campfire, it's a little ways from his actual hive, and he makes sure to grab what alcohol he has stored up, which is a good amount, and a healthy amount of types as well. The orange blood, sets up the fire quickly, hands able to finish the task without his mind thinking on it at all. Lysunder's mind is just on listening to the forest right now, paying attention to only the crackle of flame when he first lights it. The flame sets blaze nicely, and he nurses it for a bit before setting some wood on and sitting back on one of the benches he had carved for seats, sighing and opening up his wings to let them flutter freely behind him. For now he'll just watch the campfire while waiting, both enjoying and hating the silence all at once.]

[It won't be quiet for long. High above, there's a bird trilling, song familiar and soft. Somewhere lower in the forest, something similar answers it. Apparently it's a go ahead because there's a flapping of wings and Dural lands on a nearby branch. There's a coo of greeting towards Summoner, and then the birdlusus begins to preen herself casually. It's the motions of a creature who is used to tagging along and simply waiting.]

[Darkleer appears shortly after. There's no rustle of leaves or branches breaking. He's utterly silent, and practically invisible. Not that he can do invisibility. It's more like simply... being passed over. Ignored. An obvious hiding place is in plain sight. Once he lets up, he's simply there, coming to take a seat on the opposite bench from Summoner.]

[He's always attributed it to some minor psionics, personally. Rare, for a blueblood, but not impossible. Mindfang herself showed that.]

[Once he's down, he places one elbow on a knee and raises an eyebrow at the orangeblood.]

So. What do you have?

[Dural gets a rather pleasant smile from Summoner, who realizes Darkleer can't be too far off. He doesn't turn around though, merely looking at the birdlusus with a small smile. He really enjoys seeing a lusus. Granted, Summoner loves the company of any animal, but a lusus really reminds him of home, and Dural is a gorgeous example. He watches her in silence for a moment, about to speak before he hears Darkleer finally, and rather instantly. Summoner's wings pop up more and he jumps a little, eyes darting in the other's direction.]

-Shit!

[Summoner takes a deep breath, hand going to his chest. His ears adjust a little, wings flickering before folding behind him, ends pressed against the ground behind him. He manages a soft chuckle, turning to face Darkleer with a side smirk creeping up his cheek.]

Heh, what ills you have?

[A breath, hand with palm to the sky, and his sylladex flashes open, dropping a bottle of vodka in his hand before he tosses it over.]

That work?

[Oh darnit- Darkleer gives a small start as the bottle is tossed to him and he somehow manages to catch it with both hands. It doesn't shatter into a thousand pieces, either, so overall a good catch. A slightly annoyed glance is sent over to Summoner, although the effect is somewhat lost with his glasses still in place. Darkleer glances over the bottle before nodding just a bit.]

It should do well enough to start.

[Yeah, you heard him, to start. As he opens it, he tilts his head towards Summoner.]

And yourself?

[A wide grin to that, to start? Really? This'll be fun. Summoner takes out a matching full bottle and unscrews the top lifting a brow in Darkleer's direction.]

[Now...]

[Lysunder realizes their size difference.]

[Even if he has a good amount of experience drinking, Darkleer will always have the headstart. But this opportunity really is too much to pass up, so he's gonna have to grin and bear it, isn't he? Summoner did get himself in this mess.]

Let's hope you don't drop the ball before you drop the bottle, hm?

[A cackle, raising the bottle up, eye watching the light of flames catch in the clear fluid before looking back to Darkleer with a sly smile.]

[Should have thought of that before you invited him out drinking, Summoner.]

I should say the same to you, lightweight.

[Consider that a declaration of war, Summoner, especially with the way Darkleer decides to smirk right at his drinking partner. Not that he takes a swig out of the bottle. That would simply be crude. Smoothly, he just raises the bottle to his lips and takes a quick gulp. It burns lightly as it goes down his throat, and he's thankful.]

Excuse me, blue, you should have left your sass back at the respitblock.

[Now that smirk? He likes that, and it only proves to add to Summoners; corners of his mouth creeping up higher before he pulls the bottle to his mouth and matches Darkleer's swallow. Probably taking in a little more even before pulling the bottle away from his mouth with a gasp. Summoner can feel his throat burn and smiles to himself, the feeling completely welcome.]

I have to say, drinking with you is definitely a highlight of my time here so far, heh, and we haven't even started getting smashed. [Chuckle.]

Because you are such a stunning example of leaving your sass behind as well, aren't you?

[In contrast, Darkleer's mellows out somewhat as he takes another drink. How long has it been since he's had a proper drink? Not that this is really proper, but it's better than nothing at all. And, well... He could most certainly have worst company.]

You clearly haven't been doing enough in this place if I am the highlight of your time.

[And god, but this is reminding him of those awkward words on the SFC. Time for another swallow, and one right after that without his lips living the rim. Better to drink than to think on that once again.]

My sass is fun for all ages, no need to ever leave it at home. It's my ass that has restrictions. [He laughs, continuing to match Darkleer drink for drink, but he's already seeing his vision lag a bit, heat coming to his face, nothing major, but he does notice it. Wonders how long it'll take for Darkleer to feel it, as well as how very sick he's gonna end up being after this. Quickly he stops himself though, Summoner'd like to just enjoy this.]

When the horn handling isn't coral related, I think I can say I really do enjoy spending my time with you. [Drink.]

You're interesting.

[Not caring really anymore, about the whole... confessions thing. Though he's going to try to not let out everything. There's a lot Darkleer doesn't need to know about.]

I doubt anyone wants anything to do with your posterior, and I doubt I'm that interesting.

[There's a lot people don't need to know about Darkleer, either, but he's been aggravatingly open with this curse. That is why he's here, after all.]

[Shaking his head, he swirls the vodka about in its container a bit.]

I'm good at archery, robotics, dancing, and little else. [A small trill from the trees and Darkleer corrects himself.] Birdcalls as well.

Well considering the beatings I get from you verbally, seems like you like to take a few whacks at it. [Shrugs, taking another drink, keeping his eyes closed.]

Maybe I'd like the be the one flogging for once, ah?

Archery is certainly something I dabbled in, not really my thing, more a close combat guy. And I've already made known my interests in your engineering hobby, but-

Dancing? [He glances over to him.]

I never got to learn something like that, it's... kind of useless for warm blooded classes. [Looks away.] No real time for that sorta thing, not that I got the class to even try such a thing.

Bird calls I can do though. [Smile.]

I appreciate the arts. [There's a small, perhaps embarrassed shrug of his shoulders.] I suppose I envied them. Artists. I couldn't pick up a paintbrush, and I'm hardly anything of a singer. So I turned to that.

It does have its uses, you know. A good way to stay fit, to watch your hand-eye coordination, or to show someone affection.

[All the alcohol's fault. Right? Right.]

I cannot say I am too surprised at you knowing bird calls.

You can't envy something you are, dumb ass. You're just as much an artist as anyone with a brush.

Heh, still have yet to hear you sing. You know that offer to help you get on key is still there, right?

[He holds the neck of the bottle to his lips still, listening, his tongue rolling around the edge of the opening as he watches the fire.]

I guess, but it was either dance, or train. I'll let you figure out which one was more necessary for me.

[Summoner chuckles, glancing over to Dural.]

You wouldn't guess so now, but at one point, animals were the only things I could talk to. [Shrugs, eyes closing.]

Another troll? Lips shut like a snag trap.

Hmph. You won't get a single note out of me, Lysunder, nor will anyone else save for Nepeta. That is a one time performance I have no desire to repeat.

[Because apparently he has a secret soft spot for greenbloods not even he knew about, or some such ridiculous thing. Darkleer doesn't understand it himself. Well, he doesn't want to understand it, at any rate.]

[He follows that glance to Dural before just nodding.]

You've gotten over your shyness, then, clearly.

I'll get a song out of you at some point, wonder what kind it'll be though, hm? Something light and elegant, or perhaps something more [Smile.] passionate and anxious. [A shrug.] Who knows! Certainly not me! You make everything so difficult, I can never tell what's going to happen next.

Heh, well, besides that you'll keep talking to me. I'm just too hard to get outta your head, hey?

[A light sigh before downing more of the bottle and putting it between his knees, so his hands are free to lock together and pull forward, cracking his shoulders and his arms extend away from him.]

That I did. In most situations anyway.

Hmph. Don't flatter yourself. Six other adults in this place, and you're simply one of the only ones who I can actually speak to. [Sighing, he leans his head back to stare up at the dome.] Speak to and not nearly ruin myself over, at any rate. Sometimes, when you're not playing an idiot, conversations with you can nearly be enjoyable.

[Suddenly realizing something, Darkleer reaches up and begins to remove his glasses. They're set to the side. A whistle, and Dural sweeps in, taking them away. At the rate they're going, they'll be drunk, and he doesn't want anything to happen to those. They're important to him.]

And in those other situations, you start to stutter? [Another smirk his way, although it isn't particularly arrogant, and there's a pleasant kind of haze in his eyes.] It's almost endearing when you do that.

There aren't a lot of us here... [Stares into the bottle, pulling in a deep breath.]

But counting the nymphs, I supposed there's a bit more. [His head falls back a little.] Bu they're so... young, and naive. Heh, not that I'm not either, eh? Fuck, you're like, two hundred. I'll never get to be two hundred. [He sighs, looking back to the fire, hand moving up to bring the bottle to his mouth again. Lysunder takes a large swig and breaths out heavy afterwards, head sunk down infront of his chest.]

[The last two comments hit him though and he shrugs his shoulders forward, curling into himself and glances up to Darkleer with an expression that's somewhere inbetween a frown and a pout.]

It's, it's not endearing okay? It's- [He moves a hand up to scratch behind his neck.] I shouldn't be doin' that any more. [Summoner's cheeks might be a bit brown now, but we'll blame that on the alcohol.]

'Sides what d- [He stops, looking over to Darkleer and catches eyes with him. Lysunder's shoulders shrug in more as he leans forward, neck craning his head as he stares. A moment passes before he starts to smile, ears pointing up.]

You hide 'em like a dragon hordes wonders, Tink. Scared someone'll take them for themselves one day?

It's not as wonderful as you might think. Living that long. [And he'll drink to it, too. When he pulls the bottle away, he barely manages to notice he's gotten close to the bottom. That quickly? What a shame. He'd ask for another if he was sure that Summoner wouldn't throw it at him. He's just a bit too tipsy to be confident in his bottle catching skills.]

[But that denial has him smirking again, chuckling just a little under his breath. He's a second away from teasing the other about it, but then the tables are suddenly turned. The compliment- he thinks it's one, anyway- makes him just stare in open bewilderment before he realizes just what Summoner is talking about. His eyes go wide and he flushes, the blood most prominent in little blue lines near his eyes, and quickly ducks his head so that a curtain of black hair hides his face.]

Ach, quiet, you. They're nothing special.

Heh heh, you hide behind your hair, but it's not I don't like that too. That I at least get to see anytime I see you, the eyes are rare though. [Grins, lifting a hand and sways it to the side as he does the same with his head.]

Point for me, hmm, gonna say Iiii'm lucky to get to see those peepers of yours, pretty things.

[Another chuckle before he breathes in deep, taking the bottle to his mouth and downing the rest of it. He breathes out loud after, crinkling his nose and dropping the bottle on the soft grass near the bench. Summoner shakes his head, stops, opens his eyes and lets his vision catch up before looking in Darkleer's way again.]

And you should know by now, telling me to be quiet does quite the opposite. Heh heh, just because my heart runs rivers or orange, doesn't mean I don't treat it like gold, you can never tell me what to do. [Smile.] I run my life how I like, and I make all the orders.

[He opens his hand, bottle of, what looks to be rum, dropping into it.]

Like this one! Another round?

You are a wretched and incorrigible flirt, Summoner Lysunder, and I hardly know what to do with you sometimes.

[But then he looks up just enough for his hair to slide away from his face and reveal the smile he has. Drunk, without his glasses, and doing it on his own time instead of just to look after some others... It leaves him quite the open book and there's some admiration and respect when he looks over Summoner.]

That you do. Now hold still.

[He gets up to his feet and wobbles only slightly before he goes around the campfire.] I'm not going to have you toss another bottle at my head, you wretch.

[There's a grunt as he sits on the ground near Lysunder's feet and leans in just to inspect the bottle.]

You'd waste perfectly good alcohol.

Let me flirt, s'not like it's going to go anywhere here. [Shrugs.] Granted... that Izaya kid is cute. [Eyes slim.] But I think...

I think he's messin' with me.

[Pouts a little, taking in a deep breath. Unfortunately, he misses Darkleer's smile, he'd hate himself for it if he knew it was there. Because fuck if Darkleer didn't look good when he smiled... That smirk earlier got Summoner thinking about it too. Wonder what else I could get out of him, smiles, that's just step one, hey? He's probably the quiet, heavy breathing type, wonder if he whinnies, heh heh heh. And pause.

I really do like it when he smiles though.]

Awww, you sure it isn't to just sit next to me? [It should be.]

[His wings open before slimming back, leaning over to Darkleer a little before handing him the bottle.]

[Fuck, I... I want to play with his hair. Oh, ohh, wonder if he uh... likes hair pulling, hell I love long hair, I love it so much, why the fuck does that Indick bastard have to have long hair? Where does he even get off being sexy, that's just..so rude... Uh, whoa okay stop, that train of thought, fuck, but, haha, I bet Darkleer does like hair pulling. What was that... about a collar before? Something Dural said. I could get a collar.]

And excuse you again, sir! I have wonderful aim! Heh heh, and that can be said about, haa, many many things.

[Like sexual stuff.]

[Yeah he could just say that one outloud. Said while drinking Darkleer in a bit more as he sits, hand opening to get his own bottle of rum.]

[Yeah, could definitely get a collar.]

Why is that such a surprise? [He takes the bottle gratefully, ignoring the way their fingers briefly touch in the process.] You act like such a player yourself, sending out such a message on the network, what did you think would happen?

[Even knowing that, however, he responded to it, and Darkleer finds himself shaking his head at the thought. It isn't the kind of life for him, not dedicating himself to just five people and nothing more, nothing less. Not that anyone would take him, he's pretty sure of that.]

[Mmm. Not a good thought to linger on. He quickly takes a swig of his rum, only to nearly choke on it with Summoner's last words. Coughing, he wipes his mouth with the back of his hand and snorts.]

And back to sex! I shouldn't be surprised.

Hey, at least the illusion of intimacy is there. Sometimes illusions of grandeur are all you have, I'm used to looking up.

[You know the feeling? Living in a dream. Summoner used to know that feeling when he was asleep, but not anymore. Here, here he was in the dream, but it was just a rock painted to a chunk of gold, not the real thing. This was a nightmare.]

At one point in my life, illusions like that, dreams, were all I had. Not that I get to dream anymore, unless what you call what I get at night... dreaming. [He sighs, opening the bottle and taking in a drink, shaking it head afterwards, because ack, rum. Summoner does look in Darkleer's direction though, cocking a brow and smirking.

[Really, what did he expect. Flaunting that tight ass around me, of course it'll swing around to sex again... He's gotta be so ripped, wearing that armor all the time. Maybe he'll take some off with a little more heat...]

Oh come on! Back home not a night passed without me getting something, and now I'm here! Fucking... cold gobblebeast, it's terribull. [A deep breath.]

Doesn't help with eye candy right fucking here infront of me either.

[Blueberry maybe, or... cotton candy. HAHA, oh... Darkleer as cotton candy, that's good. It's because he's so sweet, heehee.]

Dreams... [He takes a deep breath and puffs it out as his eyes fall half lidded.] I've actually never had dreams, I think. I mean of the... the sleeping sort. [A small vague hand gesture is made, as if that explains it.] Even the nightmares were just faint, faint things.

So when you say dreaming... I wonder what you mean. All I have are just delusions, I think.

[Yes, that's the word. Just blinding himself to all the things the empire said he wasn't supposed to see or think about. He was a blueblood, a noble, an Archeradicator. It was his duty in life, his purpose, to follow orders and ensure the empire continued to run like a well oiled machine.]

[Except it wasn't really well oiled at all. A part of him wishes he wasn't able to see that.]

[Biting lightly at the inside of his cheek, Darkleer raises his bottle again, fully intending to take another drink. However, Summoner has the wost timing, and his hand gives a small jerk in surprise that leaves rum dripping down his wrist. Darkleer's stare at him is embarrassed, exasperated, and flustered.]

[Maybe a little flattered. Maybe.]

Do you ever flirt enough in the day?

You don't... dream?

[Some shock and awe there, looking over to him.]

I... I used to. [He puts a hand up, covering his eyes and forehead.]

Now I, now all I ever see is pain, and the night's a constant scream. I don't want to wonder what I mean, you don't wan to even think about it. I don't even want to.

[A deep breath, eyes half lidded as they stare into the fire.]

I try to not sleep for too long now. I can't handle the terrors anymore. I don't need to be even more reminde-

[His jaw locks, moving to quickly drown the next words in rum, and a long drink at that. He doesn't need to continue with that thought, even though Summoner knows he might anyway, if not after this swig, later.]

[A chuckle actually follows though, and he glances back to Darkleer, his face a flushed gold.]

But flirting is fun. I can never get enough fun. Let me flirt. [Smile.]

It's not like anything I do really matters to you.
