[ Kaito was feeling more relaxed in his Shinichi disguise than usual today, maybe he was finally getting used to it or maybe this was a curse. Come to think of it... it had to be a curse because he could never feel comfortable being a complete killjoy with no fashion sense that thought investigating dead things was entertaining. Either way, he was in a much better mood than he had been. ]

[ He wasn't sure exactly what made him do it but the absolutely breath-taking Orchids that were in bloom out by the forest were practically begging to be picked and given a better home. If he had been thinking clearly he might have noticed the flaw in his thoughts but nevertheless he plucked the prettiest one he could find and carried it immediately back home. ]

[ He took a nice deep breath and pushed open the front door, hiding the flower behind him as he let the door close with a soft snap. ]

Ran? Are you home?

[ Kaito pauses uncomfortably for a moment. A day off sounds most welcome but he can't. He cannot allow himself to spend an entire day around Ran. Not that she wasn't a lovely young lady-because she was, it was just simply that he didn't think he could hold the act up for that long. ]

I'm sorry Ran, but detective's don't get a day off.

[Almost like something you'd see in a horror movie, the back of Ran's head almost instantly was replaced with a hostile, almost dangerous glare as she looked to Shinichi over her shoulder and told him with little room for argument:]

That wasn't a request.

[ Wince. Why. Oh Why does this happen? He nods stiffly fearing might pund his face in if he refuses. He supposes there's really no way she could know just how bad of an idea this was and of course she'd twist his arm and make him agree. ]

B-but I can probably work something out..

[The threatening stature and Ran's towering over Shinichi is completely gone the moment Shinichi acquiesces. Instead a bright smile appears and she giggles like any girl in love would.]

Great! I'll do some research and see what there is to do around here for fun!

Uh.. S-sounds great...

[ Except for the part where it -isn't- He can't go on a date with the detective's girlfriend as the detective. That's not right. ]

Any preference? [Ran returned to making their lunch...although it was all she could do not to get on her SFC right then and there and start prodding everyone for date spot ideas.]

[ Uh... Actually Kaito's convinced that he could think of great ideas for a date but since he's also convinced Shinichi wouldn't know how to be romantic if Cupid shot him point blank in the ass- ]

I think there's a new mystery movie out...

Why would we see a movie with all the pretty scenery around? [Ran giggled, bringing Shinichi a plate with a sandwich and some salad.]

But I'll keep it as a plan B, just in case. But leave it to me!

Ah.. okay.

[ Is that a good idea? Or is he going to be shoved into a romantic situation and have to make some kind of action? ]
