[Silver let his head drop as he lowered his blade after the final kata, breathing heavily. Damnit, but even ten days after New Years, he was still confused over the whole 'little brother' thing, never mind what else had happened. It made no sense; he didn't need or want a family or anything like that-- it was stupid, worthless and it only lead to hurt and loss.
Which only frustrated him, though he wasn't going to go to the pirate samurai for answers as to why he'd called Silver a 'little bro'. Silver could and would figure them out on his own. After all, he'd bee doing fine so far - gotten this far on his own. He didn't care for the bonds he'd formed here, they would only hold him back. Family was loss, pain and abandonment, and like hell he was even going to open himself up for that again..
A shake of his head and he started the katas again, this time with more force than needed; Anything to clear his mind of stupid, stupid crap that didn't mean anything. ]

[That'll be Motochika stepping in now, anchor set across his shoulders and his other hand in his pocket. There is no sign of the weight affecting him and he even lifts his chin to give Silver an appraising glance.]
Strange. Don't get why you and N look into swordsmanship when you already got your beastie friends lookin' out for ha.
[Eventually he settles his anchor down but carelessly driving it into the ground.

[It's only a testament to his stubbornness that he doesn't falter that much, even though he was startled. Then again, Silver is nothing but a master at replacing most emotion with indifference or anger. His grip tightens on the blade and there's a nasty slash in the air, Silver shifting his weight then lowering his sword... but not pointing it away. Rude, maybe, but Silver never was one for manners with someone he.... didn't like right now. ] Hmph. Because I'm needing to prove that I don't just hide behind my pokemon.

Then there's a swing of his anchor with enough strength to knock the sword out of Silver's hand, guaranteed. Enough to make him lose his grip for sure, though hopefully with minimal damage to his wrists.

It stings - more so because whether he likes it or not, his measure of strength comes from how strong his father was a gymleader.] ........
