maybe you're still dreaming...
[ it's particularly foggy this morning— in fact, should you venture into the city, you might find that you can't see a anything further than your own arm's length. however, around noon, the fog will subside; the first thing you might be able to spot as the fog clears would be the shape of something rather large in the distance— something familiar, perhaps.
isn't that the church?
it's mysterious to say the least, considering it was supposedly demolished last summer. the locals seem very unfazed about it all, as though nothing had ever once happened to it. you know you're curious, so how about exploring it?
—except the interior isn't quite like it used to be. fog seems to remain inside of the building and it's all very wet— it's almost as though the church had been swallowed up by the sea then redeposited within vatheon. not to mention all the corridors and doors— in fact, it shouldn't be possible for the inside of the building to be so much bigger than the outside.
careful though, you might get lost. one door leads to another corridor of doors, which only leads to another, which leads to too many flights of stairs... is this a maze? try to choose your path carefully though; opening some doors leads to unfortunate circumstances— rooms aren't exactly supposed to spontaneously explode or suddenly have their floors disappear into a pit, are they? it's clearly a maze with traps.
anyone lucky enough to successfully solve the maze and avoid all the traps might find theirself in an odd room located on the very top floor. tucked far away in a dark corner of the room stands a peculiar wooden box. there's a slot located on the top of the box, and nearby is a plaque that simply reads: ]

[Wow, will you look at that. Gamzee remembers that building. It was gone for a long time, but now it is back just like a miracle. A foggy, kinda dampish, miracle, but a miracle none the less.
He shuffles up lazily to Darkleer's side, shadowing his eyes with a hand as he peers up at the massive church.]

For now, he'll just observe it, and the locals selling flowers. Eventually, he'll buy one of the flowers, to examine the differences between it and the Embryon rosebush back at base. If he sees anyone who looks like they know what's going on, though, they'll be getting approached.]

And something about it just felt... wrong. Or maybe that was just him? His stomach was fluttering, mouth dry, a sense of weight on his shoulders that shouldn't have been there. Of course not sleeping more than a couple of hours a night the past few days isn't helping.
He bought one of the roses. He didn't know why he did. He just... did. A part of him wanted to venture inside, but he was hesitant, reluctant to do so alone.
So he just stood. Staring. Waiting. For what? He didn't know.
Maybe something to push him inside.]

The pirate was there with a few of those pretty black roses tucked between his other arm, and side.]
Not gonna get anything done sticking 'round out here, lad. C'mon. [A cant of his head as he grinned.] Time to figure this mystery out and find out if it snatched people here.

In the other hand, a rose from a nearby local is held daintily. It's something of a mysterious beauty to her - not as beautiful as her, she would tell anyone, but fairly close.]
So the curtain arises on a new scene. I do wonder how this shall play out for the actors of this play.

EXPLORING ☆

[So at any point, you might run into the archer wandering the church. His hair is tied back into a loose bun and slid into it is that rose from before. (Go ahead and tease him, if you like. The reaction won't be much.) In his hands, there is a large book and he's apparently making a map of sorts in side of it of the Church, or at least doing his best to make one. The mechanical beasts are still at his sides, acting as lookouts once more.]

The mechanical creatures leave him wary, though, so he stops a safe distance away from Darkleer to address him.]

On her search, though, she'd come across something that seemed ... out of place. The church had a sort of eerie air about it ...
... it also seemed like a place Hubert may have gone to explore. So, despite the eerieness of it all, Cheria had proceeded cautiously into it.
She had been here for at least an hour. Maybe more. She wasn't sure. She'd lost track of time during her explorations. She had thought about turning back several times already, but the thought that Hubert may have been in this place kept her going; after all, she had taken it upon herself to keep everyone together during such a difficult time. She owed it to everyone to hold herself to that.
... this place was just so creepy, though. ]

She's really not sure why she decided to explore this creepy church, anyways.. It smelled decrepit, looked run down.. If not for her impulsive curiosity, she wouldn't have looked at the building twice.
So, at the moment, she's frantically running through doors and hallways, not really paying any attention to where she's going - Until she rams right into another person. Falling back on her bottom, she rubs the back of her head. ]

Place is falling apart. [mutters, wrinkling his nose at all the puddles and cracked walls and things like that. He hears a distant shout echoing through the corridors, so he sort of, lazily wanders in that direction. He's bored, and he wants to see if it's someone he knows]

[Fortunately, Darkleer is amongst those exploring the church and he is quite used to confusing, dangerous areas that no one has explored before. It's true that he may not have a squadron to direct in this case, as he's more used to... but he does have robots.]
[Lots of robots.]
[So if you find yourself in a conundrum, you may find your friendly Alternian hermit or a mechanical beast of some kind helping you out!]

The ticking noise is so mysterious. But no really. When Minene's involved...which is it? The traps or her?
She's already dirty from several explosions she had run into, a look of ecstasy on her face. This was the most action she'd seen since coming here!
She's running, though - why is she running?
BOOM!
Oh. That's why. That explosion lifts her off her feet, and she laughs as she falls down to the ground.] It's even better when I adjust them!
[Feel free to think she's insane. Really. She kind of is.]
Speaking of traps?

If the mazes didn't get you the poison arrows and falling floors would. This was not at all what the weasel had signed up for. He liked the promise of treasure as much as the next guy. Probably more than the next guy. But there were plenty of better ways to go about getting it.
He tentatively poked at a tripwire with his boot. What he really needed was a stooge...]
