[Well, this is certainly odd.

Yukari's grown so used to the shape of the SFC that a normal phone looks so weird to her; and it doesn't help that she can't FIND her SFC today, either. It's a bit concerning, but closer inspection of this new phone reveals that the contact list and everything else is there, as it should be.

...Had the locals simply gotten bored with it?]

[What better way to find out than to try it and see what's up?

Its functionality is a bit similar to the SFC, too--or at least it does the same kind of things the SFC did. She initiates a video call--and to who else, of course, but--]

[Now she's wondering, too. It seems eerily quiet, too--heck, maybe they're both hallucinating somehow?

[...He takes a slow, steady breath, nodding as he looks around as well.]

Yes...we might as well. There must be some reason that everything...looks like this now.

[Steady, calming breaths. She's going to follow that example and attempt it herself, and begins to lead the way without realizing it, just because she's so curious.

They're walking past a whole bunch of shops now, suddenly, but...

There's no one around.

Could they really be the first ones up here?]

[He doesn't mind following for now, strange as it is to let Yukari take the lead. He's too distracted by the differences regardless.

This is like an entirely different place. The island is...gone.

[They weren't greeted with the sound of waves like usual, upon stepping out of that elevator, and maybe she misses that the most.

She frowns and looks over to him; glancing down at the picnic basket they'd brought with them.

Then back at him.]

Maybe the Coral did this.

[...oh. He hadn't even noticed that the waves were gone but now that he does, it feels eerily quiet.

A quiet sigh.]

Maybe. It wouldn't be the first time, but something this big feels weird...

Most days she forgot she even had it, but she remembers it well enough. She sighs as well and glances down at her leg where it would be.

This whole situation is weird.]

I didn't really notice...what about yours?

[A quiet shrug.

He thinks that means it probably wasn't a curse.

But he sighs, shaking his head.]

Well. Let's not let this ruin our picnic.

Oh, right. The basket in his hand is pretty noticeable, and she remembers their plans now. Though she was really looking forward to enjoying a nice sea breeze along with it...

She sighs though, disappointment showing only on her face.]

Yeah...maybe we can find a place to sit.

[He's pretty unconcerned, wandering through the village idly.]

There are some nice fields over here. Why don't we set up there?

S-sure.

Yeah, she's just going to follow you, leader. She's not sure of anything at the moment, but she is hungry. And no matter what the change in location, she can't deny that...]

[Good. They can eat and then they can explore; he has his priorities and they are as sound as ever.

So he walks on over to the field he saw, spreading out the blanket there so he can sit.

Those are scarecrows, aren't they?

[She's helping him with the blanket spreading. :T No ifs, ands, or buts about it. She does glance over at the scarecrows though when he points them out.

Ponder, ponder indeed.]

Oh-- yeah, looks like it.

[Creepy looking things.]

I guess they're a problem here.

[Crows, that is. Not that she's noticed...]

[His brow just furrows a little, ruining his lineface.

Because that's...odd, isn't it?]

...But then...where are the people?

[If there are scarecrows, people made them.

But there's nobody here...]

I have no idea... I haven't seen anyone.

[She frowns. And she keeps her eye on them, as if they're going to start moving any moment.

Even as they're slowly pulling out their food to put on the blanket.]

It's eerie.

[...he nods a little at that, before shrugging.

And he glances at the food.]

Well, we can worry about that after the picnic. We can still enjoy the food.

[Hmm.

Okay. Well, she turns her attention back to the food, too. They worked hard to prepare for this, after all, so no use it letting it go to waste.

She grins a bit, trying to stay positive.]

...Yeah. At least the crows won't be bothering us, with those around.

[And she'll pass him one of the little sandwiches, and one of the bottled drinks.]

[He lifts the sandwich, pleased by the food, and takes a bite before he responds to the rest.]

True. We can always explore more after. We would've heard by now if it were dangerous, so I'm not too worried.

[omnom sandwich.]

[Delicious sandwich.

Yukari takes some time to chew and enjoy her own, before she replies. She's already starting to relax a bit more, considering the circumstances, though she does still miss the nice breeze the island would give them...]

...Well, I'll try not to be either, then.

[She's safe with him around, isn't she? And she can take care of herself besides.

It's totally fine.]

But we should do this again once things get back to normal.

[She wants her beach-side picnic, damnit. Assuming things WOULD get back to normal next week... ]

[He nods at that, calmly, glancing around for a moment before he also responds, setting his sandwich aside temporarily.]

Of course. We did plan for a picnic on the beach, after all.

[And he reaches for his drink.]

[She is certainly glad he understands. She'd like it to become a regular thing anyway, if she's honest-- they did often eat lunch together back at Gekkoukan, after all, even if those days have long passed.

But she shakes her head to agree that no-- no, this doesn't exactly count. She feels a bit better already, though, as indicated by her grin.

The sandwich helps too. And once she finishes, she speaks up again.]

Heh. Well, do you want some ice cream after this?

We might be able to find something...

[Something desserty.]

[ohhhhh ice cream sounds tasty. It's been awhile (since he went out to have some with Ky, in fact), so Minato nods, clearly interested.

He's a fan of food, that's for sure.

So he finishes up his sandwich as well, glancing at her.]

We can explore this place a bit later, then. Let's get some ice cream first.

[They are the best priorities, clearly. Yukari has Cravings, okay.

...But she is glad to see his enthusiasm-- so after realizing that both of their sandwiches are done, she nods with a smile.]

I'm pretty sure we can manage both.

You're going to have to help her pack up this stuff, though.]

Do you think there'd be any up here? I mean...there aren't any people.

W-We haven't checked inside the stores yet, though.

Well, we can take a look around, at least. If not, we can always go back to Vatheon.
